My exciting news!!

Hello to all you wonderful followers!
Well...I said I would have some exciting news for you didn't I? Well here it is!

As you will have noticed, my blog has changed rather dramatically, thanks to Jen's fab creativity! It is to go with my news....

I am now proud to announce that I have become an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator!

I am opening up my first Stamper's 6 club as of January, so if you would like to join, please contact me at lizyshouseofcards@mail.com
You can find more details of how the Stamper's 6 works here.
Also, if you would just like to make a one-off purchase please feel free to contact me.

I am very excited and really hope that this is the beginning of something very special for me!

So with that in mind, here is my first project that I have made using the fabulous new Ornament Keepsakes Bundle from the Christmas catalogue.

Now some of you may have seen this on the cover of the Christmas Catalogue. I decided to have a go in colours more suited to my current Christmas decorations so I used Rich Razzelberry and Silver inks instead. The ribbon, organza, silver thread and pearl centre are all from my stash. I really enjoyed making this and the instructions were really easy to follow! I found the best video on YouTube here.

I have also created a few other decorations...

All of these decorations are created using the same set of stamps and dies. The hanging trio are simply 3 of each bauble, stamped, die cut, folded in half and stuck together! How easy is that?

Challenges

So I hope to see/hear from you and I would love to be the sender of wonderful crafting goodies to your home....early Christmas pressie maybe?

Warm Winter Wishes

Hellooooo!
Happy Saturday!
I was so excited this morning to see the challenge over at Less Is More this week....

Two of my favourite things!
So here is my card

So I used one of my Delicate Designs embossing borders from Stampin' Up!, and glittered it with some really pale blue glitter. The snowflake is made from a combination of punches, and the ribbon is from my stash, but I think it too is Stampin' Up! The sentiment is Pink Petticoat.
I am also entering this into the Fab Friday challenge this week, which is a this fab sketch

Time for work....see you soon!
Oh and keep an eye on my blog...I'm going to have some exciting news soon!

Traditional Touches

Good morning!
Yes, it's been a while...over a week actually! Now it's not that I haven't been crafting...I've just been making some projects for myself, but they are quite time consuming ones so I haven't had chance to make any cards.

But it's time for our new sketch at Sketch Saturday! And this week we are sponsored by

I have used Stampin' Up! Traditional Touches stamp in silver ink, Pink Petticoat sentiment and Scandi Chic Winter Blooms paper in Pebble Lagoon, and some ribbon and gems from my stash.

I hope you can join us for our challenge this week!
h and keep your eyes on my blog...I'm going to have some exciting news very soon!!

My 1st Christmas Candle!

Good afternoon all :)
I have an exciting project to share today! Well it is to me! I got an idea to decorate pillar candles...just something I wanted to try, so I found some cheap in Asda and gave it a go! Here is my first Christmas one...

I used an Indigo Blue stamp set of Jen's, stamped in Sahara Sand and Cherry Cobbler. I don't know if you've ever seen this technique before but it's very simple really....you stamp your image onto tissue paper, then wrap it round the candle. Then wrap greaseproof paper round and hold tight. Finally, heat the image gently with a heat gun and watch as the edges of your tissue disappear into the candle, leaving your image looking stunning! I finished mine with a Club Green image and some red gems.

I'm really loving this new crafty venture, and I have already made 6 different candles! I'm sure you will get to see them over the next few days! :)

Challenges

I have feeling I shall be making lots of these! :)
Bye for now :)

Less Is More - One Layer - Houses

Good morning LIMettes!
How is everyone? I have a chocolate hangover today! I got a craving last night that wouldn't go away so I ate a whole box of Thornton's Choccies! Ooops! It wasn't a huge box, thankfully! So I shall have to work super hard at the gym today!

Anyway, today at Less Is More, I'm thrilled that my best buddy Jen has been chosen to help Chrissie out while Mandi is getting her wedding business up and running...congrats hun!

There is a one layer challenge this week, with an unusual theme...

HOUSES

Now, as it happens, I have just the card as I made it for my friend's brother and sis-in-law for their new house, and couldn't figure out where to blog it!
The stamp is one of Jen's which I stamped twice. The castle was hand drawn by me! I didn't want it to look perfect as the other houses weren't. I only coloured the castle and not the houses as I wanted it to have the stand out effect. I chalked the background as it looked too 'white'...now I'm not sure if there is enough 'white'...
The sentiment inside says 'An Englishman's home is his castle...welcome home'

Time for work now...then the gym...then a bit of crafting with Jen!
Byeeeee!

Sunflowers

I'm here with a quickie tonight...I made it a couple of days ago for a commission for a lady to give to her boyfriend after 6 months together...she specifically wanted sunflowers!

I used a Sizzix die for the sunflowers, cut the stems and leaves out freehand, and added the computer generated sentiment. I gave some added colour depth to the petals using Promarkers and my blender pen...I like the effect! :)

It's Only A Game!

Hello my crafty friends!
Well I'm pleased to report that the charity event I had a table at today was a wonderful success, both for me and my cards, and for the charity. Which, by the way, is Children Today, who provide much needed equipment to disabled children for them to use at home...a very worthwhile cause and in need of much help!

Anyway, here is a card I made as a commission for an 80 year old Dad!

The image is a 'It's Only A Game' by Stamps Happen and is coloured with Promarkers and the paper is a freebie from my stash.

Sketch Saturday #232 with Saturated Canary!

Hellooooo!
How was your Halloween? Spooktacular I hope? We had a few trick or treaters, and Keiran enjoyed going out himself too, but I think the highlight was going to the Halloween Disco last night! So funny watching 8-11 year old lads dancing! Keiran had a fab time too!

Anyway, it's my turn to host over at Sketch Saturday and this week I'm thrilled to have Saturated Canary as our sponsor!

Krista is offering 2 images to the lucky winner! Krista has also agreed to be my guest designer for November so do pop over to Sketch Saturday and take a look at what she has created, and the rest of our fab DT, and maybe get inspired to enter yourself!

I used Party Hardy and coloured her with Promarkers. The paper is some of Jen's and the ribbon is from my stash. Oh and I added a bit of liquid pearls to her dress.

Chess Birthday

Good evening to you!
I am a bit annoyed with myself...I made loads of cards at Jen's last Saturday, but I have hardly blogged any of them due to having been so busy this week! Ah well...maybe later!

For now, I'm going to show you a commission card I've just made

I was asked to make a chess themed card, as you can probably guess! The chess pieces are from Just Inklined, the backing paper is from good old Google Images and I finished it with some baker's twine.

Challenges

Ok that's it...time for bed!
Night!
