Farewell Sketch Saturday :(

Hello everyone :)
I have a (hopefully) busy day today at a Christmas fair at the lovely Worsley Road United Reformed Church. I am hoping to sell lots of my candles, mirrors, Stampin' Framed etc! If you're nearby, pop in and see all the gorgeous products on display from all the stallholders!

Today's blog post is a little sad....it's my last day as a Saturday Girl. Life has got too busy to keep up with it so I have had to step down. I have loved my time designing for them and I really do wish the girls and the challenge well for the future!

So this week is the 5th week which makes it an open challenge so you can choose any sketch from number #215. I chose sketch #332...

Here is my card...

I have used Trim The Tree DSP and the sentiment from Bright and Beautiful, which I heat embossed with Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Emboss Powder.

I added a little sparkle using some Red Glimmer Paper.

I do hope you will enter the challenge this week, and continue to support it in the future!

Trim The Tree

Hi everyone!
It's my last week to host the challenge at CAS-Colours and Sketches this month, so first, here is the sketch...

And here is my card...

I decided to use some of the gorgeous Trim The Tree DSP, which really has a Nordic feel to it, don't you think?

I added a sentiment from Endless Wishes...this is a really good 'mix 'n match sentiment and snowflake set...and punched it using the Decorative Label punch. I finished with a Basics Rhinestone.

Have you heard about the fantastic joining offer, available only until Tuesday?? For full details, see my pinned post, or please do feel free to contact me :)

For the mean time, why not make a list of what you would add to your starter kit?! ;)

Gorgeous Grosgrain and joining offer!

Good morning!

I have exciting news about a joining promotion to tell you about that started today...more about that at the end!

I am here again with another candle I decorated for my stall on Saturday. This time I have used all current products...

I used the gorgeous, and very Christmassy, Cherry Cobbler Striped Grosgrain ribbon, I wrapped the ribbon with Linen Thread, then added a wooden snowflake from my stash, and finished with a Basic Rhinestone which I coloured with my Cherry Cobbler Blendie.

I do love how this ribbon works so well on the candles...I'm hoping they will be big sellers on Saturday!

So, about that joining promotion....

Just for one week only, from 25th November until 2nd December, you can join for just £74.25!! You still get the same fantastic joining kit; comprising catalogues, order forms and workshop invitations, PLUS £130 worth of products of your choosing!!

Not only that, but you will also get 5% cashback on all orders you or your customers place during December!

As a new demo, during your first 40 days, if you place an order of £150 or more, you get 30% off, instead of the standard 20% thereafter. Which means that if you place this order during the promotional month of December, you will get a further 5% off, meaning your £150 order would cost you only £97.50!!

So all in all, you could get yourself £280 worth of gorgeous Stampin' Up! goodies for only £172! But then you've done the maths right??

Grosgrain candles

Hello everyone!
Yay I have happy news....my laptop has come back all fixed!
I am soooo relieved, you have no idea! Let me just say that I am so thankful for PC World's Know How team!!
Note to self: BACK EVERYTHING UP!

Ok, so now I have half a chance of getting back to normal, I would like to share a pretty candle I made for my stall this weekend...

I have used Bermuda Bay Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and Whisper White Organza Ribbon, finished with a Frosted Finishes embellishment (sadly retired)

Can you see how gorgeous the gems are? I used a Costal Cabana Blendie to colour them to match the ribbon!

I really love these and I will be back to show you more over the coming week :)

Right, time to organise all my files now and back them up!
Have a lovely Monday!

Many Merry Stars

Good morning all!
I hope you're having a good week so far!

I'm here with my DT card for today's challenge at CAS-Colours and Sketches. It' a colour challenge this week...let's take a look...

I do love this colour combo and it seems to be right on trend for Christmas this year...

I used the fab new Many Merry Stars set from the Autumn/Winter supplement for my multi layered card. I heat embossed the 2 star stamps with Silver Stampin' Emboss powder. I carefully positioned the 3 words so I could stamp them in the middle of the top star...easy to do with Photopolymer stamps!

I then die cut the large star and the Lost Lagoon stars using the matching Stars Framelits. The top star was hand cut out as I wanted it to be a little smaller than the framelit size (it was easy to do by follwing the lines). I embossed the Lost Lagoon panel with the Lucky Stars Embossing Folder and finished with a Smoky Slate Tafetta Ribbon bow.

We're looking forward to seeing your gorgeous cards and don't forget, we are also having a DT call too!

Have a great day and hopefully I'll see you soon!

My heart goes Boom Boom!

Hello everyone!
I hope you are well and had a good weekend :)

I had a bit of a problem last week...my laptop died, sadly, which is why I haven't got round to blogging this week. I have figured out how to do it on my tablet for now though, so here I am!

Today, I want to show you a little card I made for my lovely man, Mike. He buys me flowers at least once a month, and it's been a while since I sent him a card, so I have made this and popped it in his bag for him to find later at work :)

I have used the lovely Groovy Love stamp set, which I got earlier this month. I love the shape of the hearts, don't you?

Can you see my stamping boo-boo?? When I inked up the Lost Lagoon heart I hadn't realised that I had got ink on the blank space, so when I stamped it onto my card blank I got unwanted splodges! I rather like them, however,  so I kept it and added my stamped and punched Blackberry Bliss heart, using Dimensionals. I finished with my sentement and some Basic Black Baker's Twine.

If you would like to order this set you can do so via the link to my online shop over there >>>>>>>
Alternatively I would be very happy to place your order for you so do feel free to contact me :)

Did you get up to anything exciting this weekend? I went to Liverpool to see Bryan Adams, and met a Minion! All good fun!
Have a lovely day!

A pretty card for a pretty little girl's 1st birthday

Good morning!
I'm here with my DT card for this week's challenge at CAS-Colours and Sketches, and this week it's sketch week. So here is my sketch...

I decided to use the sketch to make a card for my friend's little girl's 1st birthday, which is actually today!

I embossed a strip of hearts across my card using an old embossing folder, then added a piece of gorgeous Pink Pirouette Two Tone Ribbon, which is in the clearance rack for only £2.49!! (5 yards!)

I added a punched shape from the Label Bracket Punch, then added a die cut number out of Pink Pirouette Glimmer Paper. Wait....we don't do pink Glimmer Paper do we?? Well ok....I cheated a little...I added a few drops of Pink Pirouette ink to an alcohol spritzer then spritzed the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper! Isn't it gorgeous??  I finished with a sentiment from Remembering Your Birthday and a few pearls coloured with the lightest Rich Razzleberry Blendie.

If you would like to order any of these products, please do contact me, or use the link to my online shop, just over there >>>>

I'm looking forward to seeing your entries this week...enjoy our challenge!

A true Christmas sentiment tealight candle

Good morning!
This morning I want to show you some lovely tealight covers I made...

I have seen these done a fair bit now, but the first person I saw do them was Paula Knall, so thanks for the idea hun! I used the sentiment from the retired Calm Christmas stamp set. I used this because I really love the sentiment and it works perfectly on these candles.

I cut a strip of Vellum Cardstock long enough to wrap around the electronic candle, and 6cm tall. I stamped the image using black Memento ink, and added 5 Basic Rhinestones to create a cross. I then wrapped the Vellum round the electronic tealight and secured with Tombow glue. (I used Tombow as it dries clear).

I love making these, and already have 2 more ready to blog!
See you tomorrow for my CAS-Colours and Sketches DT card!

Stunning Jewelled Candles

Good morning!
Well I think I have got the candle decorating bug again! I used to do these a lot but I seem to have given up until recently. So here is a pair I made using some Stampin' Up! products, and some pretty trim I was given by Keiran's Nanna, from her work (she makes blinds and I often get trim such as this!)

I used our gorgeous Whisper White Organza Ribbon in 2 strips, then added the black jewelled trim.

I finished with one of our retired Frosted Finishes Embellishments...I coloured the middle gem with a black Sharpie.

I think these are incredibly elegant, don't you?

Yesterday I promised to show you a picture of the projects we made at our craft class on Friday...

You may recognise these from previous blog posts...my ladies loved making them! :)

Have a lovely Tuesday!

Vintage Candles

Hello everyone!
How is your weekend so far?
I had my craft class on Friday evening, which was brilliant, as usual! I will share our projects tomorrow :)
I was working for most of the weekend, but Mike and I went out for a game of pool on Saturday, and I did manage to craft a little...

I have been on a mission to make lots of pretty things for a stall I have later this month. So these candles are just perfect for it! I have used Designer Series paper on these... this is retired but any would work just as well, especially the Typeset Speciality Paper!

I then decorated them with Petite Petals and Papillon Potpourri, stamped onto the same DSP, and punch with the matching punches. I tied Venetian Crochet Trim and Linen Thread round the candles to add a shabby chic look. I finished with some tiny Basic Pearls.

Of course, they then needed packaging!

To make the base, I cut an equilateral triangle with 36cm sides, then scored each side at 5cm. I then cut along the scoreline in each corner to make a flap, then simply folded it all together and glued! I finished with floristry cello wrap, Crochet Trim and a butterfly. This is now a quite sturdy and pretty looking gift!

If you would like to order any of the Stampin' Up! products I have used, please feel free to contact me, or follow the link to my online shop, just over there >>>>>

Ok so before I go, I just thought I would share a photo of me and Mike playing pool...

This is me about to pot the black after just potting all 7 of my yellows in my first shot!

And this is Mike taking his shot after I missed potting the black!! *face palm*

Have a lovely Monday...I hope it's not too traumatic for you!

Cool Kid...or man!

Hello Sketch fans!
I'm here with my DT card for Sketch Saturday. Here is the fabby sketch...

And here is my card...

I decided to add a 'man card' to my stash...I never seem to have enough! This cute little stamp is from the retired set; Cool Kid. I stamped him in Baked Brown Sugar, and layered him onto a Cherry Cobbler panel.

I stamped the sentiment, from Remembering Your Birthday, onto the Wooden Element, also in Baked Brown Sugar...doesn't it look fab?! I used Cherry Cobbler Chevron Ribbon for my stripe element.

We're looking forward to seeing your entries!
Have a lovely Saturday!

Mirror, mirror on the wall...

Yay it's Friday!!
Do you have that Friday feeling?? I do...I have my lovely ladies coming to my craft class tonight and I can't wait! I love spending time crafting with them...we always have so much fun! I currently hold my monthly classes at my home, but if they continue to grow I may have to go bi-monthly, or look at renting a bigger space...eeeek how exciting!!

Anyway, today I wanted to show you another mirror I have altered...it's another quite modern one but I think I'd like to try a vintage style one next, if I can find just the right mirror...

So for this one, I used Everything Eleanor again...I really love the swirl which I stamped in black Stazon.

I stamped the flowers onto Vellum Cardstock, in Island Indigo, then I coloured the backs of them using my Watercolour Pen and the same ink. It gave the flowers a soft colour without going too heavy.

I really am enjoying making these mirrors...they are really effective and pretty, don't you think?

What are you up to this weekend? Are you going to a bonfire or did you go to one this week already? Whatever you're doing, enjoy!

Thursday 6 November 2014

Feathery Thanks

Hi everyone!
Did you have a good bonfire night? We went next door to their annual bonfire and firework display...it was a lovely night!

So today is the new challenge at CAS - Colours and Sketches and it is my turn to host this month!

So the first week is a colour challenge, and this is the colour combo you have to work with this week...

Now when I chose these colours, I had Christmas in mind (now that Halloween and Bonfire night are out of the way!)

As you can see, that idea went by the wayside...

I went into my craft room, and sat on the desk from when I first played with this stamp set, were some gold embossed feathers! So what better place to start than here? The feathers are from the Four Feathers stamp set and are die cut using the matching Framelits. We were very lucky to each have been given this bundle at convention back in October...how awesome is that?!

I simply scored 3 lines across the Very Vanilla cardstock, then stamped the sentiment from Good Greetings in Cherry Cobbler.

I finished by popping the panel up on Dimensionals, and adding a Linen Thread bow.

I was a bit dubious about this stamp set, if I'm honest. It's not that I don't like it, I just didn't know how I would be able to use it! I have now realised that I actually love it, and I am sure you will be seeing me use it lots more!

So, what will you make using this colour combo? Maybe something Christmassy?? I can't wait to see!

A different stamping technique...Using Blendabilities!

Hi guys!
How's your week going so far? I hope you've had plenty of time to craft! I have...I have been making some things, other than cards, and today I have something a little different to show you...

I have altered a mirror that I bought at the weekend...I wanted to try something different! The thing was, I wanted to stamp on the frame of my mirror, but I only have black Stazon and the Stampin' Up! coloured inks are water based, so wouldn't dry on this surface. So I got on Ebay to see about getting some different coloured Stazon, but I didn't like the colours...they just weren't the same as our gorgeous colours!

Then I remembered a technique I used to use with my Promarkers, way back in my early days of crafting. So I tried it with my Blendabilities! Basically, I coloured the swirl stamp from Everything Eleanor with my medium Rich Razzelberry Blendabilities pen. Now, you have to work quite fast, and build up the colour a bit so the ink doesn't dry straight away, but it works! I stamped straight onto my frame and the ink is colourfast! How to clean the stamp? Just use Stazon Cleaner straight away!

I then added some butterflies from my favourite Papillon Potpourri, stamped in Rich Razzelberry onto Vellum Cardstock, and a few Basic Pearls Jewel Accents to finish. I love how this cam out, and now I know that I can stamp with my beloved Blendies, I will be doing it more often!!

I am heading to the gym now, if I can move when I get there...my legs are still stiff as a board from Monday's workout!

Have a lovely Wednesday!
