In colour flowers for CAS

Hey everyone!
I'm quite excited today, not just because the sun is beating down on Bolton, but because it is my design month at CAS-Colours and Sketches! To kick it off, I have gone with some brand new Stampin' Up! In Colours, but please don't worry if you don't have them...anything similar is absolutely fine!

I think these are really lovely, vintagey colours, don't you? But when I came to make my card, for some reason I thought of wood and flowers, so here's what I came up with...

I used the Hardwood stamp to create my background, using Tip Top Taupe, but I stamped it off first as it was a little too dark for what I wanted. I then stamped the leaves from Crazy About You in Mint Macaron, stamping twice on each inking to give different shades of colour.

I used the gorgeous Watermelon Wonder for the Petite Petals, stamping several times for each inking. I punched them with the matching punch and then die cut 'happy' from Hello You Thinlits. I made it a bit girly by tying some baker's twine onto it. 'Birthday' shows Tip Top Taupe in it's full colour. I used Sahara Sand for the card base, just to show how well it complements the new colours.

I am so looking forward to seeing your designs...I'm sure there will be some gorgeous creations this week! :)

A floral card in a box

Good morning everyone!
I hope you are well? As I type this, the sun is shining, so this morning I'm sharing a very summery card...

This card has been made for Keiran's Nanna for her birthday today. I haven't made a box card for a while so this was fun to do! I started with an A4 piece of card and scored it along the short edge at 7x7cm, then along the long edge at 7, 14, 21 and 28cm, but just as for as my first scoreline.

I added 3 strips of card inside the card to hold the flowers, each was 9cm x 1cm and scored at 1cm from eacn end. I used various Stampin' Up! flower and butterfly stamp and punch sets to create this lovely summer display!

I finished with a die cut butterfly from the Butterfly Thinlits and the sentiment from Memorable Moments. The great thing about this style of card is that they can be folded flat for postage...isn't that brilliant?!

I hope you have a lovely day planned....I think we are having a day in Southport :)
See you tomorrow with my DT card for CAS-Colours and Sketches.

Lovely Lace

Good morning from Holland! I am here for a week so I won't be posting every day, but I'll try and post a few times :)

So today I am going to show you something I made back in May when I went to the training day in Telford.

We got to have a play with some new products, one of which is this Lovely Lace embossing folder.

Isn't it lovely teamed with the Petite Petals and the Artisan Label punch?

So, we are off to Efteling tomorrow which Keiran is really looking forward to! I may share some pictures if you're lucky!

Pretty shopping list

Good morning everyone!
This is a super quick post as I am going to my parents' in Huddersfield and need to get going shortly!

Today I have made a pretty shopping list...

I used a strip of the lovely Springtime Vintage DSP from MDS and simply added some Crumb Cake and Old Olive Taffeta Ribbon and some stamped and punched Petite Petals.

Who says shopping lists have to be boring??

Ok that really is all from me today...sorry it's so short but life is always a hurry in the school holidays!
Have a great day!

Happy Sapphire Anniversary Mum and Dad!

Good morning everyone!
It's my parent's Sapphire wedding anniversary tomorrow so I decided it warranted something very special!

*This is a post of epic proportions - please do read through for instructions*

First of all, here is a picture of the whole gift...

Can you see the card in a box? That is my first one and I am quite pleased with it! So here's how I made it...

1. Take an A4 piece of cardstock and along the long edge, score at 7cm, 14cm, 21cm and 28cm. The little section will be your flap to join it together.

2. Along the short edge, score at 7cm across three of the panels. The one you leave unscored will be your back panel.

3. Fold along all your edges and assemble.

4. Cut 3 strips of matching card 9cm x 2cm and score 1cm from each end. Fold along each score the opposite way from the other. Attach inside the assembled card.

5. Use acetate to attach all your elements, always checking the card closes properly.

Silver embossed my elements onto blue shiny card from my stash.

The numbers are cut using Bigz Typset Alphabet and Glimmer Paper and the heart is from Language of Love.

The sentiment panel is made using the flourish from Morning Meadow and the phrase from Express Yourself.

A picture of the full card...

I also made an envelope. using my Envelope Punch Boadr, for their gift voucher and tied with White Organza Ribbon, decorated with another heart.

The final gift was a personalised bottle of Champagne!

I simply used MDS to design and print the label, then gold embossed the flourish from Happy Day!

I thoroughly enjoyed making these for my parents! Below is a list of the products I used...it is rather product heavy, sorry!

For my friend!

Hello everyone!
It's Thursday so that means it's time for a new challenge at CAS - Colours and Sketches. This week it's a sketch challenge...

Come and see what I did...

This card is for my longest known friend, Sarah. We have been friends since we were four and although we don't see each other more than about 6 times a year, we're still really good friends! I used a muted colour combo, inspired by the challenge at Dynamic Duos this week.

I used a Sahara Sand card base, Blushing Bride Designer Series Paper and matching inks on various stamp sets, including Petite Petals and Label Love. I stitched the DSP for added interest.

Do you have any plans for today? I'm having coffee with a friend this morning, and lunch with another friend...in between I hope to enjoy some sun again...I got quite a little tan yesterday, sat in my garden making wedding invitations!

Have a lovely day, whatever you're doing!
