A little bit nautical!

Hi everyone!
I'm back today with my DT card for our sketch challenge at CAS-Colours and Sketches. This week's sketch is a fun, easily adapted sketch...

So here is how I used it...

I used the fab stamp set, Guy Greetings, and stamped then heat embossed the anchor for a metallic appearance.

The sentiment is stamped in Real Read and I used some retired DSP and ribbon to give my card a nautical effect....the red, white and blue work so well together, don't you think? A couple of staples give it a real 'man' feel!

We're looking forward to seeing your creations this week so do drop by and give our challenge a go!

Fluttering embossing!

Hello all!
Today is another challenge over at CAS-Colours and Sketches...here are some lovely colours to work with...

and my card...

I went for a pretty much one layer card today, because I wanted to showcase this fabulous new Fluttering embossing folder! The brilliant thing about this folder, and pretty much what sold it to me, is which way up the design is, so you can emboss the front of a card blank, as I have, and the embossing will be the right way up! How often do you have a great idea for a card then realise it won't work because of the way the embossing folder works?? Preoblem now solved...thank you Stampin' Up!

Of course, it isn't foolproof....I managed to de-boss my card by using the folder the wrong way round, but hey....it works for this card! The 'happy' was die cut from some old DSP, using Hello You Thinlits, and the 'birthday' is from Endless Birthday Wishes. I finished with Bermuda Bay Candy Dots.

I did, of course, have a piece of DSP with the word 'happy' die cut from it, so I decided to use it to make another card for this challenge...

This time I added a butterfly from Watercolor Wings and a different 'birthday' from the Endless Birthday Wishes.

These are such lovely, vibrant colours to work with and I hope you enjoy using them as much as I have!

Hats off to our sketch challenge!

Good afternoon!
Today is a sketch challenge at CAS-Colours and Sketches, so here is Jane's fab sketch...

And here is my DT card...

As soon as I saw the sketch I had this stamp set, Guy Greetings, in mind! I figured it would be perfect and teamed with some of the Neutrals DSP I think it makes for a fab male card, don't you?!

I stamped the main hat images in Black Memento ink, then after stamping in Versamark, I heat embossed the top hat in Basic Black Stampin' Emboss and mounted it with a Stampin' Dimensional.

We've had some gorgeous entries to our challenges recently, and I'm sure this one will be no exception!
Enjoy playing!

A book for notes

Hello!
How are you all? I hope you're enjoying lots of crafty time! I'm not getting as much as usual, but I'm still having fun creating things like this...

I really love decorating these notebooks....They make great presents and are also great sellers on my stalls! This one uses a few retired bits of DSP and Cotton Ribbon, along with Candy Dots and some die cutting.

The lettering is from the Little Letters Thinlits and I die cut them in Sahara Sand and Early Espresso cardstock and offset them to give the illusion of shadowing.

Do you ever alter everyday objects like notebooks, pencil cases etc? Let me know...I'd love to see! :)
Have a fab Tuesday!

Floral Wings!

Good afternoon all!
I hope you are well and have been enjoying the gorgeous weather! we had an awesome storm last night....lots of lightening and thunder and very heavy 'big' rain! You know the kind...really big drops of the stuff!

Anyway, today I'm sharing my DT card for CAS-Colours and Sketches with you, and this week Jane has given us a gorgeous colour combo...

So here is what I made just before last night's mega storm...

I have used the stunning Hostess set, Floral Wings for my card. It is a two step stamping set and you can get it free with any hostess credits you earn with me!

I stamped the background in Crumb Cake...once with the first inking and once again without re-inking for the slightly faded stems, and Rich Razzleberry for the roses. The main butterfly was stamped using two step stamping and I finished with a die cut lacy butterfly. These Framelits are available separately as Butterfly Thinlits and Bold Butterflies. The sentiment is from Happy Birthday, Everyone.

We're looking forward to seeing your cards...remember to use stamping and keep it CAS to be eligible for a top pick!
 Have a lovely day!
