Stampin' - framed

Hello everyone!
I am very pleased to welcome another new follower, Nicky! She has a lovely blog full of very pretty things, that you can see here.

I have a pretty thing to show today too...

I made this using one of the plain white frames I got from Ikea ages ago! I heat embossed the phrase from Feel Goods in Tempting Turquoise, the again with Iridescent Ice. I then added splashes of Baked Brown Sugar using Gorgeous Grunge. (I stamped them off first before I stamped onto my picture, to give a more subtle effect.)

The Petite Petals flowers are also heat embossed and punch using the matching punch. The leaves are from the Bird Builder Punch and I sponged them with some Baked Brown Sugar. I finished with 6 Basic Rhinestones.

I really enjoyed making this frame....it's something I have been meaning to do for ages! In fact, I loved it so much that I made another, larger one, which I will show you another day!

Have a fab Wednesday and don't forget to come back tomorrow to see my DT card for CAS - Colours and Sketches.

An altered tablet cover

Hi everyone!
Did you have a nice day yesterday? I went on the local Mayday walk with Keiran and my parents and tried a little pond dipping and maypole dancing...it was fun!

Today I have something a little different to show. I recently got a new tablet and so needed a cover. I looked around but I couldn't find any I really liked, so I decorated my own!

I used Flowering Flourishes and heat embossed it using Pool Party Stampin' Emboss.

While it was still heated, I added Iridescent Ice Stampin' Emboss for a little sparkle. I finished with some bling!

What do you think? I do have one tip for this...make sure your heat tool is properly hot before you emboss, then it is in contact with your case for as little time as possible.

A heartful Mother's Day

Good morning!
I am so excited to have yet another follower to welcome to my little blog! Hi Briggita! :)

I had a commission for a pretty Mother's Day card with the brief of red, purple and orange butterflies, so here it is...

I decided that as it was a first Mother's Day card I would do something a little special and different, So I used the large scalloped heart from the Hearts Collection Framelits to make the card blank, and covered it with some of the Watercolour Wonder paper from the Spring/Summer catalogue.

The sentiment was MDS created and die cut using another of the hearts Framelits. I then added butterflies from the Papillon Popourri stamp set, in Calypso Coral, Rose Red and Wisteria Wonder. I did add some Iridescent Ice but it's hard to see in the pictures.

Perfect Swallowtail

Good morning!
I have another card made using up something I found whilst re-organising my craft room...

This gorgeous white and Iridescent Ice embossed butterfly has been sat on my desk for probably 6 months, poor thing! I decided it was time to use it, and I wanted colour, so I used a piece of sponge to gently sweep Perfect Plum over the butterfly. I then gently wiped the excess colour off the embossing to reveal the white. Isn't it pretty?

I stamped the background in Island Indigo using Gorgeous Grunge, but as I needed a softer look I stamped off the ink first. I finished with a sentiment from Express Yourself, stamped in Smoky Slate.

I am entering my card into a couple of challenges...

Do you remember that I got stuck in a lift at Ikea on Friday? Well, I had a phone call yesterday from the manager and he apologised most profusely, then by way of compensation, he is sending me and Jen a £100 gift card each! Now I still won't be getting in their lift any time soon, but I will be spending their money! That's my craft room paid for, thank you very much!

See you soon!

A Snowy Christmas couple!

Happy New Year!!
I hope your 2014 is brilliant and all you want it to be!

I have a few Christmas cards that I made that I haven't blogged yet, so here is one of them. This one was for my Brother and Sis-in-Law...

I really love this stamp set; Snow Day. You can do so much with it and really create some cute characters, like this sweet couple!

The snow in the background was created using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set, Versamark and Iridescent Ice Stampin' Emboss powder.
