Wavy Butterflies

Good afternoon all!
It's Thursday so that means it's time for a new challenge at CAS-Colours and Sketches, and as this is the fifth Thursday of the month, we have a double for you! Sketch and colours!

I must admit, this was another sketch that had me thinking 'out of the box'!

So, to create my wave, can you work out which stamp set I used?? I will reveal all at the end of my post.... ;) I stamped it in Island Indigo onto white card, then stamped a sentiment in Wisteria Wonder.

I then added 2 butterflies, stamped and die cut with matching Framelits, one in WW and one in Calypso Coral, and separated the wings with half a Dimensional on each side. The panel was then mounted at an angle onto II card stock.

Did you guess the stamp set? It was Butterfly Basics for the whole card, so well done if you got it right! I simply used my largest clear block and place the long chevron stamp on it, curving it as I went!

I hope you like my card, and feel inspired to have a go yourself!

Happy 7th Birthday Keiran!!

Good morning!
Today is a very special day....it is my gorgeous little man's 7th birthday today! I can still remember, very clearly, how the day went, along with the day before, and the weather yesterday was just the same as it was 7 years ago!

Anyway, as I promised yesterday, here is the card I made for him....

I bought some awesome wrapping paper for his presents, and I decided that some of it would look brilliant on a birthday card! I popped a secret message on the front....the number 7 lifts up to reveal a happy birthday message, just like he asked to make him after seeing the card with the feathers I made for Mike earlier this week!
I added Chevron ribbon and Little Letters Framelits to personalise the card.

Today is a busy day for him; school, film night, Choi Kwang Do, then a birthday tea with us all!

I hope you have a fabby day!

For The New Two

Hello all!
It's time for our new challenge at CAS-Colours and Sketches, and this week we have a fab sketch!

I was a little thrown when I first saw it, but then I decided I actually quite like it!

So here is what I made...

Sorry about the photo...it was so hard to photograph the white on white....the sun has been too bright (not that I'm complaining!)

I heat embossed the sentiment, from For The New Two, with Gold Stampin' Emboss, ant the flowers are from Petal Potpourri and are stamped in Gold Encore ink. A very simply made card, but very elegant!

We're looking forward to seeing your creations!

I'll hopefully be back tomorrow with Keiran's 7th Birthday card....where have the 7 years gone??

Four Feathers, for you!

Good morning everyone!
Today I am showing you a card made using a set that isn't one of my favourites, if I'm honest, but I am starting to enjoy using it!

These gorgeous feathers are stamped and heat embossed using the Four Feathers set and Tempting Turquoise Stampin' Emboss powder. I then die cut them using the matching Framelits.

Now this card doesn't just have feathers on a panel on the front...oh no! This card is a little special....

This is a 'peek-a-boo' card...fun isn't it?? I stamped the first half of a sentiment from Petite Pairs on the inner of the flap...

....then added the other half inside the card.

Here's how the card looks when on display...

I really loved how this card came out...Keiran did too! So much so that he wants me to make a peek-a-boo card for his birthday! This one, by the way, was for Mike to thank him for everything he does for me...he really is fantastic!

In fact, one of the wonderful things he has recently done for me is look after Keiran over a couple of weekends so that I could do my Gym Instructor Level 2 course. I have finally completed all my worksheets, assessments and exams and I am now just waiting on the results....fingers crossed I passed!

I also want to thank all you lovely followers and my wonderful customers for bearing with me over this very busy time...hopefully things can start to get back to normal again now! :)

Have a lovely Tuesday and I'll be back soon!

Beautiful Wings and.....RETIRING LIST!!

Well today is the day we have all been waiting for...it's the day that Stampin' Up! release their retiring list of stamps, punches, accessories, etc, and you can get them at up to a massive 50% off!

There really are some surprise retirings (it's a word, honest!) in there too, which can only mean one thing....lots of amazing new products to come soon!! :D

In fact, I made a card the other day with one of the retiring Embosslits...Beautiful Wings. Want to see? Oh go on then!

The three squares of card have been cluttering up my desk for a while now, so I thought it was time they got used up! It is difficult to see, but I stamped the swirls from Everything Eleanor using Versamark and Clear Stampin' Emboss.

The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments and I used my Rose Red and Pear Pizzazz Stampin' Write Markers to ink it up.

Aren't these butterflies gorgeous? I truly will be sad to see them go...wish I had used them more!

Do have a little peek on my online shop and grab yourself a bargain...so many lovely things! Why not leave me a comment and let me know what bargains you picked up? I'd love to know! :)
Happy shopping!

I {heart} you

Hello all!
First of all, I apologise for not being around much lately...what with Easter holidays and my Gym Instructor course I have been a very busy little lady! The funny thing is that I actually have lots of cards already made, I just haven't got round to blogging them! Hopefully I will have more opportunity after my exams this weekend!

Anyway, today it is time for our new challenge at CAS-Colours and Sketches and we have a lovely colour combo for you today!

I was going to go all girly and and do flowers and swirls and probably butterflies, but then I spotted a stamp set I haven't used for a while so went with that instead! Here's what I came up with...

I've used Pictogram Punches for my card, and I coloured my sentiment using the three required coloured Stampin' Write Markers. I notched either side of the sentiment and wrapped some thick Coastal Cabana Baker's Twine around my stamped panel, finishing with a knot.

I stamped and punched out one of the hearts from the set and popped it up on Dimensionals before backing with Coastal Cabana and mounting on the front of the the card, again with Dimensionals.

I plan to try and get some of my cards blogged this week, so please do keep popping back to see what I've been making!

Have a lovely day!

Oooops very late!!

Hi everyone!
Wow has it really be so long since my last post?? I have been so busy over the school holidays that I just haven't had time to get online! So yes, I am very late posting my card for CAS-Colours and Sketches this week, for which I am very sorry for! Still, better late than never right?

So this week is a sketch challenge, and here is the fab sketch...

I loved this sketch and knew almost straight away what I was going to make...

I used the Top Note Bigz Die for the panel, and topped it with little toppers made using Circle and Scallop Circle Punches and butterflies from the Beautiful Wings Sizzlits.

The sentiment is from Butterfly Basics and I inked it using my Stampin' Write Markers before stamping.

I love the touch of sparkle from the Silver Glimmer Paper behind the butterflies, don't you?

We can't wait to see your creations, so while the weather is a bit chilly again, why not join in?

Going Green!

Good afternoon!
Today it's time for our new challenge at CAS-Colours and Sketches, and it's Louise's turn to host this month. For her first challenge she has gone all green!

I didn't think I would enjoy using just green (it's not my favourite colour to be honest!) but actually, I found it rather easy to do! As it was only one colour, I just got all my green accessories out, with the inks and paper and played! I rather like my effort...what do you think...

I started by stamping just the widely spaced parts of the sprinkle balloon from Celebrate Today in Pear Pizzazz, then added some retired Washi Tape, some Pear Pizzaz Chevron Ribbon and a strip of Garden Green spotty DSP that I punched first with the Hearts Border Punch.

I then added some Linen Thread and a butterfly stamped from Kinda Eclectic and punched with the Bitty Butterfly Punch. I finished with a large Basics Pearl.

I deliberately left in sentiment free as I think this little card would be suitable for lots of occasions. Oh I should say that this card is really little at only 7.5cm x 10cm...super cute!

We're looking forward to seeing your creations!

I {heart} my parents!

Good morning everyone!
Today I'm showing you a little present I made for my Mum and Dad for their Wedding Anniversary last week.

This is quite a large cardboard heart that I wrapped with Burlap Ribbon and secured using hot glue.

I then added the sentiment from Feel Goods which I heat embossed with my own mix of Stampin' Emboss Powders. I used Early Espresso and Gold to create a slightly graduated look to it....very effective don't you think?

I added various flowers from Petal Potpourri and Petite Petals, some die cut leaves from Flower Frenzy Bigz Die, and some butterflies from Butterfly Basics. I finished with Basics Pearls and some gold pearls from my stash.

They loved this gift, which I made in colours to match their decor...I hope to see it hung in pride of place next time I visit!

Have a lovely day and I hope the wind has calmed down near you!
