A Butterfly Easel card

Good morning to my lovely followers!
This morning I have a lovely easel card to show you which we made at my craft class a couple of weeks ago, but I hadn't got round to posting it until now...

We used the largest die from the Butterfly Thinlits to die cut the butterfly from the centre of a piece of card. We then simply matted and layered the card onto another piece, sandwiching some DSP between them.

We then stuck just the middle of the butterfly down back in position in it's negative and left the wings lifted for dimension. The card was finished with a strip of DSP, some Crochet Trim and a sentiment from Butterfly Basics, punched with the Large Scalloped Oval.

My lovely ladies really enjoyed making this card, along with the others we made that night. If you would like to join our friendly group, please do get in touch...we'd love to see you there!

A card for Confirmation

Good afternoon!
Wow this summer is really flying by...not that we've had too much brilliant weather up in Bolton! Today it's my final week at CAS-Colours and Sketches as challenge designer for June, and we have a sketch. Some of my lovely followers may recognise this sketch from a card I made a few weeks ago, and I liked it so much I decided to use it again!

So here is my very CAS card...

I got this wonderful new stamp set (along with a 'few' others!) as part of my order from the brand new Annual Catalogue. It is All God's Grace, and along with this gorgeous cross, there are lots of sentiments, such as Confirmation, Baptism and Christening, as well as with some lovely verses!

Here is a close up of the cross...

and the sentiment...

I stamped the cross in Blushing Bride and the sentiment in Smoky Slate.

Thank you for playing along with my challenges this month...I look forward to seeing how you've used my sketch!

Have a lovely Thursday!

Pinkies Annual Catalogue Blog Hop!!

Thank you for joining us on another Pinkies Blog Hop! We're showcasing lots of gorgeous projects using products from the new Stampin' Up!® Annual Catalogue. Simply use the buttons at the end of each post to keep hopping!

I have created a really simple CAS card for the blog hop, using one of the gorgeous new hostess sets, Best Thoughts.

Isn't the butterfly stunning? I stamped it in black Stazon onto some of our Watercolour Card, then coloured it with my Stampin' Write Markers and a Watercolour Pen. I fussy cut it to give it some depth.

I stamped the sentiment then paper pierced around it to highlight it. I love how the light shines through the paper piercing!

I hope you liked my card, and now it's time for you to visit the lovely Ilse's blog to see what she has created!

Enjoy the hop...I'm sure you'll find tonnes of inspiration... and see you soon!

A colour challenge!

Hi everyone!
I'm here with my DT card for CAS-Colours and Sketches and this week it's based on these colours...

I decided they would make a cool male card, so I went with a Father's Day card for my Dad!

I first of all cut the word 'happy' from a piece of card, using the Hello You Thinlits, then layered a piece of Delightful Dijon under it.

The 'Father's Day' is from Crazy About You and that is stamped in Cucumber Crush. I attached the finished panel to my Basic Gray card base using some retired Washi Tape. Suitably male I think!

I hope you enjoy playing with these colours and I can't wait to see your cards! Do pop over to the rest of the DT if you need more inspiration!

Biker Birthday!

Good evening everyone!
I'm here to share a 50th Birthday card I made for one of Mike's biker buddies...

I used Gorgeous Grunge for the background squares and an old magazine freebie motorbike stamp, perfect for a biker!

The numbers are made using air dry clay and I finished with a sentiment from Remembering Your Birthday.

I'm entering this into the challenge at CAS(E) This Sketch

I hope to be back soon with some makes from my new stash...when I get time to play!

Six Sided Sampler....it's been a while!

Good afternoon everyone!
First of all, I'd like to welcome my newest follower, Urska, to my blog. Urska is from Ljubljana in Slovenia and has a lovely, creative blog. I had the pleasure of visiting Ljubljana in 2007...it's beautiful there!

It's my secone week hosting this month at CAS-Colours and Sketches this week and I have designed the following sketch for you...

In my craft class last Friday, one of my ladies was looking through the catalogue and fell in love with the Six Sided Sampler, which reminded me that I haven't used it in quite some time! So as I had it out for her to look at, and my UPS man hasn't been with all my new catalogue goodies yet, I decided to use it for this card!

I stamped the hexagons in Pink Pirouette and So Saffron and punch using the Hexagon Punch, and used a Wisteria Wonder card base. The side panel is embossed with the Hexagon Embossing Folder and the flowers are from Pictogram Punches, punched with the matching Bitty Punches.

I finished with the sentiment from Six Sided Sampler and gem on one of the flowers. A nice feminine card I think!

Now I had a visit from the UPS man yesterday afternoon....oooooh I am so going to have some fun with all those new stamps! Watch this space! ;)

Enjoy playing with the sketch and I look forward to seeing all your creations! :)

In colour flowers for CAS

Hey everyone!
I'm quite excited today, not just because the sun is beating down on Bolton, but because it is my design month at CAS-Colours and Sketches! To kick it off, I have gone with some brand new Stampin' Up! In Colours, but please don't worry if you don't have them...anything similar is absolutely fine!

I think these are really lovely, vintagey colours, don't you? But when I came to make my card, for some reason I thought of wood and flowers, so here's what I came up with...

I used the Hardwood stamp to create my background, using Tip Top Taupe, but I stamped it off first as it was a little too dark for what I wanted. I then stamped the leaves from Crazy About You in Mint Macaron, stamping twice on each inking to give different shades of colour.

I used the gorgeous Watermelon Wonder for the Petite Petals, stamping several times for each inking. I punched them with the matching punch and then die cut 'happy' from Hello You Thinlits. I made it a bit girly by tying some baker's twine onto it. 'Birthday' shows Tip Top Taupe in it's full colour. I used Sahara Sand for the card base, just to show how well it complements the new colours.

I am so looking forward to seeing your designs...I'm sure there will be some gorgeous creations this week! :)
