Bloom With Hope for Mum and Dad's Anniversary

Good morning!
Would you believe we had snow when I woke up this morning! It seems to have gone now though...lots of rain!

So today is Thursday and that means it's time for our challenge at CAS-Colours and Sketches, and this week is Jane's sketch challenge.

I decided to use the sketch to make an Anniversary card for my parents...they have been married for 46 years this year!

I used the gorgeous Hostess set, Bloom With Hope, for my card. I coloured it with my Stampin' Write markers and created a sentiment on my, which I die cut using one of the Chalk Talk Framelits.

I tied some Linen Thread round a layer of So Saffron card before popping it onto my card blank, then added my stamped panel using Dimensionals. I finished with a few Basics Pearls.

If you would like information on how to get this stamp set for free, please contact me for more details!

So go get your crafting goodies out and show us your creations!

Creative Blog Hop - a Pink Wreath

Good morning! I hope you are all well? I feel like I've been away for ages, but I haven't...I have actually been crafting, I just haven't got round to blogging, so I am sorry about that!

I have been nominated to take part in the Creative Blog Hop by the lovely Em, so here is my make...

I used some retired Pink Pirouette ribbon to wrap a polystyrene circle and glued it in place with hot glue. I made roses with the Spiral Flower Originals Die, making the small one by cutting the bottom off once I had rolled it, and hot glueing it to a punched circle of card.

The sentiment is from Feel Goods and was heat embossed with Pool Party Stampin' Emboss. The leaves are from Flower Frenzy Bigz Die as are the bases of the larger flowers. I finished with a few punched Bitty Butterflies and some pearls.

I really enjoyed making this project, so much so that I made another hanger for my parents for their anniversary, which I will show you tomorrow.

So to keep the blog hop going, I have nominated the lovely Susie and Neets who will post their projects next Monday, 30th March.

Have a lovely Monday!

A cheery Thank You!

Good morning!
Today I'm sharing my DT card for CAS-Colours and Sketches with you. We have a yummy, bright colour combo for you all today...

I really love how cheerful these colours are, don't you? Here is how I used them...

I started by stamping the Gorgeous Grunge 'splatter' in Versamark, then heat embossed it with Wild Wasabi Stampin' Emboss powder (retired). I then added a piece of Daffodil Delight Seam Binding and some Strawberry Slush Thick Baker's Twine in a random fashion.

The flower is from the Flower Patch set, and I punched it with the Pansy Punch. I finished with a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Sentiments punched with the Word Window, and a Wild Wasabi Candy Dot.

I used the sketch at Retro Sketches for inspiration...

So go get your crafty on and see what you can come up with. We're looking forward to seeing your creations this week!

Make today ridiculously amazing!

Hi all!
Did you have a nice St. Patrick's day? I made a yummy Steak and Guinness pie (with homemade pastry!) and Colcannon, and washed it down with a pint of Guinness...it was yummy!

So today I have the second card that we made at my craft class to show you, using the Amazing Birthday stamp set...

I chose brighter colours than we used for yesterday's card, but still kept it quite 'manly'. The card base is Crushed Curry, which we embossed with the Arrows Embossing Folder, and we used Lost Lagoon and Smoky Slate for the complimentary colours.

Again, we inked up the stamp with Stampin' Write Markers before stamping onto our Whisper White card, then stamped an extra 'amazing' which we cut out and popped up on Dimensionals. Black Chevron Ribbon and a Smoky Slate button finish the card nicely!

If you'd like to join us at a craft class, please do get in touch...we'd love to welcome you to our group! :)

Have a fab Wednesday and make sure you pop back to see my CAS DT card tomorrow!

Amazing birthday!

Hello!
As promised, here is one of the cards we made at my craft class on Friday evening...

I recently got myself the Hearts and Stars Decorative Masks, so I decided to have a play. I sponged Baked Brown through the mask using a Sponge Dauber onto Very Vanilla cardsock and mounted it onto a Cajun Craze card blank.

I then inked the sentiment banner stamp using my Stampin' Write Markers and stamped it, with an extra 'happy' to pop up on Dimensionals. I added this to my striped banner, added some Linen Thread underneath and popped the whole thing onto the card.

I really love the effect of the stars, as did my ladies at class, and of course they loved getting inky too!

If you would like to attend one of my classes, please do contact me...they are friendly and informal, and lots of fun! The details are on the tab at the top of this page.

I will be back tomorrow with another card made in our class, using the same set...have a lovely Tuesday!

All about the Mums!

Good morning peeps!
It was Mother's Day in the UK yesterday...did all you lovely Mummys out there have a nice day? I was working but Keiran came home from his Dad's with a beautiful bunch of flowers and a card!

He also made me this gorgeous card at school....

I think he has the makings of a crafter, don't you?! ;)

Ok so here is my card for today...this was the card I made for Mike to give his Mum....

The two butterflies from the Butterfly Thinlits have been sat on my desk for about 3 weeks, and I have been trying to use them up, so I designed this card around them. The Sweet Dreams DSP offered the perfect backdrop and worked well with the Sahara Sand Lace Trim.

The sentiment was created using the die and stamps from the Crazy About You Bundle. I finished with a Gold Basic Metal Button and some retired Thick Baker's Twine.

I used the sketch at Freshly made Sketches for my inspiration.

I hope you have a lovely Monday. I will be back tomorrow to show you one of the cards we made at Craft Class on Friday!

Some 'big' birthdays!

Good morning!
Ok so I know I haven't posted for a couple of days, but I just haven't caught up after my weekend in London! I hope to get back on track this weekend, and also share a few piccys with you, from what was an incredible weekend!

Anyway. today I have my DT card for CAS-Colours and Sketches to show you today. Here is our sketch....

And here is my card...

I have a few 'big' birthdays this year and these 2 have now both gone out and should have been received, so I'm ok to share! The gorgeous DSP is Watercolour Wonder and looks gorgeous teamed with these different ribbons, don't you think?

I used the sentiment from the free Sale-a-Bration set, Simply Wonderful, and I inked the stamp with my Stampin' Write Markers before I stamped it.

The numbers on each card are made using Simply Pressed Clay and the Alphanumeric Simply Pressed Clay Mould. I do love this clay as there is so much you can do with it, you don't need to cook it, and it is so light, giving no real weight to your cards!

I rubbed the numbers with Encore Gold and Silver inks to add a bit of glam, and with the sequins I think these cards look pretty special, don't you?

So these two cards go out to my very dear friends Sarah (40) and Elaine (60)...happy birthday to you both! I have been friends with Sarah for 36 years...wow! :)

Have a lovely day everyone and hopefully I'll be back tomorrow!

Pretty lacy!

Hello, Hello!
This is a scheduled post, so I won't be able to fill you in on my weekend yet, but I'm pretty sure I'll have had an amazing time! I will tell you all about it some time this week though!

Today's card is one I CASEd from one I saw on Pinterest, but absolutely ages ago, and I have no idea where to find it now! (if it is yours I have CASEd, then thank you for the inspiration!)

I used Something Lacy for the background, which I stamped and heat embossed in Whisper White Stampin' Emboss, then stamped the butterfly from Butterfly Basics and die cut it with the matching dies. (the stamp and die bundle is available for 15% off when bought together...just click the Bundles link in the sidebar of my online shop.)

I took a small piece of Blushing Bride DSP and punched out the middle with the Elegant Label Punch. I stamped my sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes inside the frame, on my card blank, once I had positioned it, but before I stuck it down, along with the postmark. The frame was then popped up on Dimensionals and the butterfly was added, along with Basic Pearls and some Bakers Twine.

I do love this card, and although it sounds time consuming to create, it really wasn't!

A bit of Argyle

Yeeeehaaa!
Well as you read this I shall be on my way to London, hopefully, to go to the Country Music Festival!! Eeeek! Excited much??

Almost as excited as I am to share this card with you! Ok, maybe I'm a tad giddy today! (don't worry, I'll be back to normal next week!)
Back to the card....I have had this Argyle embossed panel sat on my desk for months, and no, I am not exaggerating! I had plans for it once but they didn't pan out so it has sat there getting shifted around until I finally found the perfect sketch challenge to use it with (details of that below). Imagine how chuffed I was to find I had matching Back To Black DSP too!

I die cut 'happy' from Crazy About You, then stamped the 'Birthday' from the same bundle before punching out with the Word Window Punch. I then added some banners of ribbon to give a little colour and voila! Another 'man card'!

I think I'm getting the hang of non-girly cards just recently!

So here are a couple of challenges which helped inspire me...

Have a good one y'all! ;)

Read all about it!!

Hello all!
I have a very exciting weekend ahead of me...I am going to the Country Music Festival at the 02 London tomorrow and I can't wait! There are loads of artists that I'm looking forward to seeing, but my favourites are definitely Lady Antebellum!

So I may be missing for a couple of days, but I'm sure you'll survive without me! ;)

Ok so on to today's card...

I am making a concerted effort to make more 'man cards' recently as I never seem to have very many in my stash...they are just so much harder to make, don't you think?

For this one I used some of the Typeset Speciality Paper and after I had cut my piece, I screwed it up to give it a little texture before sticking it to my card blank.

The sentiment is from Label Love and is punched with the matching Artisan Label punch, which I then layered onto a Scalloped Oval, with a little Linen Thread behind, again for texture and interest.

I do quite like this one...I think it's perfect for those males that like to pop their feet up and read the paper on a Sunday morning!

I did use a couple of challenges for inspiration...

Butterfly birthday wishes

Good morning peeps!
Today is Thursday meaning it's time for our new challenge at CAS-Colours and Challenges, and this week it's a yummy colour challenge.

I do so love this colour combo and decided it would be perfect to use with my Butterfly Basics stamps...yes, I am addicted to them!

I stamped my image in black Stazon, to make it waterproof, then coloured it with my Stampin' Write Markers and one of the SU! Watercolour Pens to help blend the colours.

I added two of butterflies stamped from the set and punched out using the Bitty Butterfly punch. The sentiment is a combination of two...'Birthday' is from Memorable Moments, and 'wishes' is part of the 'get well wishes' stamps from Teeny Tiny Sentiments. I simply inked each stamp with my Lost Lagoon Marker and perfectly positioned them using my Stamp-a-ma-Jig. Even though we now have Photopolymer stamps, I still used that fantastic tool loads!

I did use a couple of challenges for my inspiration...

Less Is More - This Makes Me Happy...I love butterflies and spring and flowers...they make me feel happy with everything, so I have tried to show that in my card.

If you would like to order any of the products I have used today, please click on my shop link opposite, or do feel free to contact me!

We're looking forward to seeing your entries!

Happy Turquoise birthday!

Hello all!
Have you had a nice weekend? I had a lovely time in Durham with Mike...we stayed in a beautiful place called The Old Mill at Knitsley. The owner, Pauline, and her daughter couldn't do enough for us and the food was outstanding! I would totally recommend it! Here are a few pictures of the lovely inn, in it's lovely setting...

Ok, so on to today's crafty offering, for which I used the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch as my inspiration...

And here is my card...

I first of all die cut 'happy' out of Tempting Turquoise (a colour I often overlook!) and then out of the top of the white panel, leaving only half of the negative. I sponged the bottom of the top panel with Tempting Turquoise ink, then added some splodges of ink using a sponge dauber.

I inlaid the turquoise word into the negative space, stamped 'Birthday' from the Crazy About You stamp set and finished with a Silver Mini Brad.

The Crazy About You stamp set and dies are available as a bundle at 15% off if you buy together...what a brilliant deal, don't you think?!

Have a lovely Wednesday and I'll see you tomorrow with my DT card for CAS-Colours and Sketches!
