Sketch Saturday with The Craft Barn

Good evening all!
Well I am a little late with this post, as it should have been posted this morning, but better late than never eh? ;)

This week at Sketch Saturday, we are sponsored by

And this is our sketch...

My card...

This super cutie 'Miffy Girl' is one of the fab digi's from Angelique's blog...do check them out...they're awesome! :) I have coloured her with Promarkers, and the papers are Pink Petticoat Wild Blossoms (mag freebie). The punched bored is Martha Stewart.

I've made this card for my good friend Simone's little girl who is 4 on 4th of the 4th! They are my Dutch friends and so will really appreciate Miffy, I'm sure!

Challenges

I've had a lovely day today crafting with Jen, and got 2 of my future DT cards done...desperately trying to get ahead lol!
Ok I'm going to try and relax for a bit now so see you all soon! :)

(Late) Less Is More!

Good morning LIMettes!!
I know....how late am I??! Well I had a couple of friends over last night and we had quite a few glasses of wine, so I treated myself to a lie-in this morning, especially as Keiran wasn't here to wake me up this morning lol!

Anyway, this week at Less Is More (for all you, as yet, non-LIMettes!) is a lucky dip challenge as it's the 5th Saturday in the month. We have been spoilt too! It is a Photo Inspiration...
Aren't they the most gorgeous colours?!
So here is my card...

I like to make little 'thank you' cards to pop in with my customer orders when I send them, and this is one of them.
The flower stamp is from Stampin Up! Posy Punch and I coloured the rubber with Melon Mambo, Blushing Bride and Lucky Limeade Stampin' Write markers before stamping. I chalked the corners of the card blank with Dovecraft chalks in pink and green, though the pink doesn't show so well in the photo. The sentiment is from The Floral Collection (a mag freebie), stamped in Basic Grey, and I drew the stalk in, in Pear Pizazz, as I thought the flower kind of looked like it was 'floating' lol!

Ok I'm now off to Jen's for a bit of craft therapy, then I shall be on my market stall tomorrow! :)
Bye for now!

2nd Anniversary Commission card

Good evening everyone :)
Well hasn't it been a glorious few days?! Unfortunately, it's about to end...just as well I managed to get everything done in the garden! So I will have a little more time to craft next week, I hope!

Anyway, I got another commission for an anniversary card and here it is...

The paper in the background is Pink Petticoat, the sentiment is computer printed and the stamped flowers are Stampin Up! from the recent wedding collection. I embossed them with WOW Amber Rose EP for a bit of colour. The ribbon and pearls are from my stash. I also embossed the middle panel with a hearts embossing folder and I distressed the edges of each panel with my new Tim Holz distressing tool! :)

I have used alot of inspiration from this week's challenge at Less is More, which is to combine 3 of their previous challenge on one card. So I chose
Week 1 - Pink, Black & White (I hadn't found the blog yet so never entered this challenge!)
Week 2 - Flower or tree
Week 15 - Embossing (both heat and dry this time)
Week 58 - Script

Other Challenges

Right, off to bed...see you all soon! :)

Mum & Dad's Anniversary!

Good morning!
I'm here with a card I made for my Mum and Dad's wedding anniversary. It's their 43rd anniversary! Wow!!

This card was made using Seaside Scene from Ooh La La - Passion For Fashion cd-rom. Fab isn't it?! I chose this image because my Mum and Dad had their honeymoon in Scarborough, and I remember them taking us to beaches full of sand dunes as kids. So I thought this was just right for them! :) The ribbon, doily and pearl are from my stash, and the flowers are Prima.

Challenges

Card Patterns - Sketch #158
The CD Sunday Challenge - Spring Has Sprung (with the weather this week, we should all have been at the beach lol!)

Thanks for looking everyone! :)

Less Is More - Take 3

Good Morning LIMettes!
This week at Less is More, the challenge is to take any 3 of the past challenges and combine them in one card...so here's mine...

This gorgeous heart stamp is Jen's from Indigo Blue and I stamped it with TH embossing ink and sprinkled with WOW Amber Rose embossing glitter, then heated.

The three challenges I'm combining are
Week 15 - Embossing
Week 18 - Monochrome
Week 43 - Bit of Bling

It would also fit into week 56 - don't scrap it, as I had intended this to be a one layer card, but the stamping didn't come out right so I stamped again onto scrap card, distressed the edges, then mounted it over the original messed up stamping on the card blank! I then added pearls for the 'bit of bling'! It's a shame you can't see just how sparkly it is in the picture...

Right...time for work...shame cos it's a gorgeous day!
See you all later in the week I'm sure! :)

Fourth Fairy Birthday!

Good evening!
I have just spent a lovely evening with my good friend Jackie, who came over to see Keiran and have tea with us. We went to Pizza Hut...haven't been for ages and it was yummy! :) Thanks Jackie!

Anyway, I was in the middle of making a card for my friend Alison's daughter's 4th birthday before we went out, so I thought I would finish it now, so I'm free to get on with more cards tomorrow as I have a lot of orders again! So here is the card...

I adore this image...so girly! Emily really loves fairies and has had a fairy themed card every year! This is of course a Lili Of The Valley stamp, coloured with Promarkers and some of my new Flexmarkers! Some of those colours are just so subtle! The paper is Dovecraft Sugar and Spice, and the ribbon, pearls and glitter are all from my stash. I again distressed the edges with my craft knife...beginning to wonder why I've ordered a distressing tool...
I think Emily will love this! :)

Ta for looking...see you in the morning! :)

Marissa and her Guitar

Hello!!!
Well what a busy day I had yesterday! Keiran and I planted absolutely tonnes of seeds! Potatoes, broccoli, carrots, lettuce, courgettes, runner beans, french beans, broad beans, squash, cabbage, onions, spring onions, leeks, sprouts, Marigolds, Busy Lizzies, Hollyhock, Delphinium...I think that's everything lol! So if they all come through, (which I doubt but hey hum!), we'll be quite self sufficient this year! Provided we're allowed to water them lol!

And then I even made chicken and mushroom pie for tea, with homemade pastry!! And it was yum! Not perfect, but yum! :)

Anyway, after all that hard work, I decided I needed an hour or so of crafting time so after doing some colouring in yesterday morning (I know...how busy was I??!), I had some images to play with, so here is a card I made with one of them...

This gorgeous little girly is Marissa with her Guitar from Saturated Canary, and she is brightly colour with Promarkers. The papers and sentiment are MME Quite Contrary paperstack, and the twine is from The Ribbon Girl. I distressed the edges of each panel using my craft knife, while I wait for my Tim Holtz distressing tool to arrive, so the edges don't look as distressed as they could. The background and 'aura' is chalked using Dovecraft chalks.

Challenges

Well thanks for looking and hope to be back tomorrow! :)

Monster Birthday!

Good afternoon all!
Can you believe it's Wednesday again?? And of course, time for a new challenge at Crafting For All Seasons!
This fortnight we have a sketch for you, designed by our teamie Catherine!

And our fab sponsors this time are
Fred, She Said Designs .... The Store
Prize - $20 gift certificate...wow!!

 The Stamping Boutique

Here is my card using the fab sketch...

I loved making this card! I did it the reverse way to the way I usually make my cards...I picked my Funky Hand paper first, then coloured in the Pink Cat Studio image in Promarkers to match! It was so much easier! :) The purple twine is from The Ribbon Girl and the sentiment was computer printed. The buttons are from Jen's stash.

Challenges

Ok I'm now going to get in the garden and plant some veggie seeds with Keiran as he is feeling much better today! Wish us luck! ;)

1st Easter Card of 2012!

Good afternoon!
Wow I seem to be having another busy week! Although, not helped by Keiran having been so ill yesterday, bless him. He has a chest infection and had a high temperature so had me worried for a while. But now he's on antibiotics, he seems to be much better today, thank goodness!

So on Sunday, I made my first Easter card of the year and here it is...

I used one of the free stamped images from one of the magazines and coloured it with....pencils! Yup, for a change, I didn't use Promarkers lol! The reason is that these images are printed onto very thin paper and I found the Promarkers had a tendency to bleed on it.
The papers are from the Paper Cellar and the ribbon is from Jen's stash.

Challenges

Ok off to get Keiran, and lots of planting to do tomorrow so may be MIA until Thursday! Unless I get to craft tonight.... ;)

Especially for my Mum!

Good morning!
And happy Mother's Day to all you Mum's here in the UK! I hope you get to spend it doing what you want! (crafting?!) ;)

Here is the card I have made for my lovely Mum!

I have used First Edition Dreamweaver papers and the butterfly paper is some I picked up at Leigh...sorry no name :( The Butterfly is Memory Box and the sentiment was printed on Jen's laser printer and foiled using her Foil It! machine. I also used her TH distrssing tool on the edges of each panel. I am so buying one of those! ;)

I also made a brooch using metal ribbon and a gift box...

Challenges

Ok I'm now going to spend the first half of Mother's Day doing my thing...crafting with Jen...before going home to cook Sunday lunch for my Mum! :)

Enjoy your Sunday!

Masking...2nd and MUCH better attempt!

Hello again!
Ok it's not often that I post a Less Is More card twice on a Saturday morning, but I wasn't too sure about my first entry for this week's Masking challenge, and wanted another go! I got the idea of masking a shape from Jan's entry so thought I'd try it.

Not the greatest pictures...dunno why...but you get the idea. I stamped the Clear Choice stork onto my card blank in London Fog, then onto scrap paper and cut out. I attached that over the original stamped image. I cut a heart shape out of scrap paper, and place the negative over the image. I used a baby wipe (appropriate don't you think?!) and dotted Versacolour Sky Blue inside the heart, over the image mask. The sentiment is the same inks and the ribbon is from my stash. Much happier!
Now to get ready for a crafty day at Jen's! :)
Lizy x

Masking...hmmmm....

Good morning all!
Well I was hoping for a slightly easier challenge over at Less Is More this morning, after the 'script' challenge last week...but nope! This week it's
MASKING
And I have never really done any! But here is my attempt, nonetheless!
Quite simply, I masked off stripes and dotted with ink pads! Versacolour Sky Blue, Imperial Blue, Lilac and Chateau Gray, and the Dovecraft sentiment is stamped in Lilac, then shadow stamped in Memento London Fog.
I may try make something a little more adventurous later in the week :)
