My card for my man :)

Hello everyone!
1 more sleep!!! Are you excited? I actually am this year...I have a feeling Christmas might be pretty good, and a lot of that is thanks to my wonderful man, Mike.

So I thought I would share the card I made for him with you...

I decided to use a heart shape as a bauble, and I really love the new Sweetheart shapes we have....they remind me of the hearts I used to draw as a child!

So I punched the heart from Silver Glimmer paper, and popped it up on Dimensionals into the middle of a stamped heart from the Groovy Love stamp set. I added some Baker's Twine to make it look like the bauble was hanging, and added a small heart from the Itty Bitty Accents punch set, and finished with a Silver Mini Brad.

I really like how clean the card looks, though for a while I was worried it look a bit Valentine-y! So I added the sentiment from an old set, and personalised it using the Little Letters Thinlits.

The colours I've used fit into the challenge at Create with Connie and Mary this week, so I shall be linking it up to their challenge.

So I hope you don't have too much to do today, and can get chance to relax with your family. I'm off for a walk into town to enjoy a coffee with Keiran, and watch all the last minute shoppers rushing around! Have a lovely day!

Mum and Dad's Christmas card

Good morning all!
Only 6 days until Christmas!! I bet that scared a few of you?

Haha...anyway, here is the lovely, elegant card I made for my Mum and Dad. I have struggled to get all my cards made this year, and yes, I admit it, I actually had to buy some! (Oooops!!)

But the important ones did get made, thankfully!

So I used one of my current favourite stamp/Framelit sets, Wondrous Wreath. I stamped the first set of leaves (the ones with fewer leaves) in gold Encore, and heat embossed in Gold Stampin' Emboss.

I stamped the main set of leaves in just the Gold Encore, and the berries in Cherry Cobbler. I finished with a Cherry Cobbler Sheer Ribbon bow, some Crystal Effects on the berries, and some lovely Gold Sequin Trim. The sentiment is from Endless Wishes.

My parents really loved their card...it makes the extra effort worthwhile, don't you think?

Right, off to work now...at least my Christmas shopping is done!

How busy are you this week??

Hello everyone!
Wow it's been a busy time in my household! I have had so much to do, including some last minute Christmas orders...I can't wait to slow down a little lol!

Anyway, it's time for our new challenge at CAS-Colours and Sketches, and we are looking for the double this week! It is still an open week, so you can choose to use any of our previous double challenges, which you can find on the archives page of our blog.

I still had a couple of orders to fulfil, so I chose the following sketch as I thought it would be perfect for the card I had in mind.

So here is my card...

I cut out the window frame then stamped it using the Hardwood background stamp and Sahara Sand ink. *TIP*-if you rub the ink into the card before it dries it gives a softer appearance to the wood.

I stamped the Wondrous Wreath with Always Artichoke, (I stamped off first for the main leaves), then die cut it with the matching Framelits (I love these stamp/die sets!). Even the flowers are part of the set....aren't they lovely? And can you just see the 'nail' holding the wreath to the window frame? It is one of the often forgotten Silver Mini Brads...I always seem to forget I have them but I think they were the perfect solution here!

So which double will you choose?? I can't wait to see some of the funky coloured cards you're all bound to make!

A festival of bright trees!

Good morning all!
I had a wonderful delivery yesterday of lots of new Stampin' Up! goodies, which I would love to say I had time to play with, but I haven't as I still have some Christmas orders to fulfil! But rest assured, I will be playing before the end of the week! ;)

So today it's time for a new challenge at CAS-Colours and Sketches, and as you know, we are re-visiting old challenges, and this week you get to choose any of our previous sketches. You can find them on the Archives page of the CAS blog.

I have used Sketch #65 this week...

So here is my card...

I have used the fabulous Festival of Trees stamp and matching punch set, inked in Bermuda Bay and Strawberry Slush. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments and the embossing is the Decorative Dots EF...doesn't it look like snow??

This is part of an order I am just finishing for 10 'wacky coloured' Christmas cards! I will show the others when I know the recipient has received them!

Which sketch will you use this week??
Enjoy playing and I'll see you soon! :)

A little gift

Good morning everyone!
I know I'm being a bad blogger just lately, but it really is a busy time of year for me, what with Christmas orders, Keeping up with Keiran's activities, getting myself ready for Christmas...

But today I thought I would share some little gifts I made for my card class ladies...

These are really lovely little chocolate holders, just perfect for 2 Green and Blacks minis! The measurements for these are 5cm x 23com, then I used the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch to punch each end.

I tied these together with Lost Lagoon Silky Taffeta Ribbon. The snowflake and the 'joy' were die cut from the Snowflake Card Thinlits Die out of Dazzling Details Glimmer Paper. I then spritzed 'joy' with a Spritzer filled with IPA Alcohol and a few drops of Lost Lagoon ink.

*TOP TIP* If you don't have re-inkers, simply scraped a few drops of ink from your ink pad and drop into the spritzer!

We had a fab class this week, making crackers and desktop calendars! I shall be releasing my dates for 2015 classes in the next few days....keep your eyes peeled!

A suspended star....but how??

Hi everyone!
It's time for another new challenge over at CAS-Colours and Sketches and for the month of December we are revisiting some old challenges. This week we are inviting you to create a card using any of our past colour challenges. You can find these in the archives at the top of the challenge page. The only other stipulation is that it must be a Christmas card.

I have decided to use the colours I chose 3 weeks ago, from challenge #99

So here is what I made...

I wanted to do something different this time, so I decided to die cut the star from the card blank as I wanted to 'suspend' a stamped star in the middle. I then paper pierced around the star using the Eclectic Paper Piercing Pack.

I stamped, heat embossed in gold, and die cut a star from the Many Merry Stars stamp set, and stamped the sentiment onto Vellum Cardstock before cutting it out with my super sharp Paper Snips.

So I bet you're wondering how I suspended the star??? Nope, not acetate! I simply attached the star to the sentiment with Tombow Glue (which is invisible when dry...yay!) I then simply attached either side of the sentiment to either side of the star, again using Tombow. Doesn't it look fab?!

I think I might make a few more of these for my nearest and dearest friends this year as I really enjoyed making it and totally love how it came out! :)

We're looking forward to seeing your entries this week...hopefully it will help you with your last minute Christmas cards!

Farewell Sketch Saturday :(

Hello everyone :)
I have a (hopefully) busy day today at a Christmas fair at the lovely Worsley Road United Reformed Church. I am hoping to sell lots of my candles, mirrors, Stampin' Framed etc! If you're nearby, pop in and see all the gorgeous products on display from all the stallholders!

Today's blog post is a little sad....it's my last day as a Saturday Girl. Life has got too busy to keep up with it so I have had to step down. I have loved my time designing for them and I really do wish the girls and the challenge well for the future!

So this week is the 5th week which makes it an open challenge so you can choose any sketch from number #215. I chose sketch #332...

Here is my card...

I have used Trim The Tree DSP and the sentiment from Bright and Beautiful, which I heat embossed with Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Emboss Powder.

I added a little sparkle using some Red Glimmer Paper.

I do hope you will enter the challenge this week, and continue to support it in the future!

Trim The Tree

Hi everyone!
It's my last week to host the challenge at CAS-Colours and Sketches this month, so first, here is the sketch...

And here is my card...

I decided to use some of the gorgeous Trim The Tree DSP, which really has a Nordic feel to it, don't you think?

I added a sentiment from Endless Wishes...this is a really good 'mix 'n match sentiment and snowflake set...and punched it using the Decorative Label punch. I finished with a Basics Rhinestone.

Have you heard about the fantastic joining offer, available only until Tuesday?? For full details, see my pinned post, or please do feel free to contact me :)

For the mean time, why not make a list of what you would add to your starter kit?! ;)

Gorgeous Grosgrain and joining offer!

Good morning!

I have exciting news about a joining promotion to tell you about that started today...more about that at the end!

I am here again with another candle I decorated for my stall on Saturday. This time I have used all current products...

I used the gorgeous, and very Christmassy, Cherry Cobbler Striped Grosgrain ribbon, I wrapped the ribbon with Linen Thread, then added a wooden snowflake from my stash, and finished with a Basic Rhinestone which I coloured with my Cherry Cobbler Blendie.

I do love how this ribbon works so well on the candles...I'm hoping they will be big sellers on Saturday!

So, about that joining promotion....

Just for one week only, from 25th November until 2nd December, you can join for just £74.25!! You still get the same fantastic joining kit; comprising catalogues, order forms and workshop invitations, PLUS £130 worth of products of your choosing!!

Grosgrain candles

Hello everyone!
Yay I have happy news....my laptop has come back all fixed!
I am soooo relieved, you have no idea! Let me just say that I am so thankful for PC World's Know How team!!
Note to self: BACK EVERYTHING UP!

Ok, so now I have half a chance of getting back to normal, I would like to share a pretty candle I made for my stall this weekend...

I have used Bermuda Bay Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and Whisper White Organza Ribbon, finished with a Frosted Finishes embellishment (sadly retired)

Can you see how gorgeous the gems are? I used a Costal Cabana Blendie to colour them to match the ribbon!

I really love these and I will be back to show you more over the coming week :)

Right, time to organise all my files now and back them up!
Have a lovely Monday!

Many Merry Stars

Good morning all!
I hope you're having a good week so far!

I'm here with my DT card for today's challenge at CAS-Colours and Sketches. It' a colour challenge this week...let's take a look...

I do love this colour combo and it seems to be right on trend for Christmas this year...

I used the fab new Many Merry Stars set from the Autumn/Winter supplement for my multi layered card. I heat embossed the 2 star stamps with Silver Stampin' Emboss powder. I carefully positioned the 3 words so I could stamp them in the middle of the top star...easy to do with Photopolymer stamps!

I then die cut the large star and the Lost Lagoon stars using the matching Stars Framelits. The top star was hand cut out as I wanted it to be a little smaller than the framelit size (it was easy to do by follwing the lines). I embossed the Lost Lagoon panel with the Lucky Stars Embossing Folder and finished with a Smoky Slate Tafetta Ribbon bow.

We're looking forward to seeing your gorgeous cards and don't forget, we are also having a DT call too!

Have a great day and hopefully I'll see you soon!

My heart goes Boom Boom!

Hello everyone!
I hope you are well and had a good weekend :)

I had a bit of a problem last week...my laptop died, sadly, which is why I haven't got round to blogging this week. I have figured out how to do it on my tablet for now though, so here I am!

Today, I want to show you a little card I made for my lovely man, Mike. He buys me flowers at least once a month, and it's been a while since I sent him a card, so I have made this and popped it in his bag for him to find later at work :)

I have used the lovely Groovy Love stamp set, which I got earlier this month. I love the shape of the hearts, don't you?

Can you see my stamping boo-boo?? When I inked up the Lost Lagoon heart I hadn't realised that I had got ink on the blank space, so when I stamped it onto my card blank I got unwanted splodges! I rather like them, however,  so I kept it and added my stamped and punched Blackberry Bliss heart, using Dimensionals. I finished with my sentement and some Basic Black Baker's Twine.

If you would like to order this set you can do so via the link to my online shop over there >>>>>>>
Alternatively I would be very happy to place your order for you so do feel free to contact me :)

Did you get up to anything exciting this weekend? I went to Liverpool to see Bryan Adams, and met a Minion! All good fun!
Have a lovely day!

A pretty card for a pretty little girl's 1st birthday

Good morning!
I'm here with my DT card for this week's challenge at CAS-Colours and Sketches, and this week it's sketch week. So here is my sketch...

I decided to use the sketch to make a card for my friend's little girl's 1st birthday, which is actually today!

I embossed a strip of hearts across my card using an old embossing folder, then added a piece of gorgeous Pink Pirouette Two Tone Ribbon, which is in the clearance rack for only £2.49!! (5 yards!)

I added a punched shape from the Label Bracket Punch, then added a die cut number out of Pink Pirouette Glimmer Paper. Wait....we don't do pink Glimmer Paper do we?? Well ok....I cheated a little...I added a few drops of Pink Pirouette ink to an alcohol spritzer then spritzed the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper! Isn't it gorgeous??  I finished with a sentiment from Remembering Your Birthday and a few pearls coloured with the lightest Rich Razzleberry Blendie.

If you would like to order any of these products, please do contact me, or use the link to my online shop, just over there >>>>

I'm looking forward to seeing your entries this week...enjoy our challenge!
