Crosses of Hope for a Christening

Hi everyone!
Well I know this is late...I actually had this card on the Sketch Saturday challenge blog in time, I just hadn't had time to blog it! Anyway, here is my DT card for this week's challenge. First the sketch...

I made my card for my friend's lovely daughter's Christening this past Sunday.

I used an old favourite stamp set, Crosses of Hope, as I love this particular cross from it! I embossed the background using the Lacy Brocade TIEF, and finished with some butterflies from Papillon Potpourri.

I heat embossed the cross with Silver Stampin' Emboss, then added it to my MDS generated sentiment, which I mounted onto a panel of Silver Glimmer Paper for a little sparkle.

Have you ever thought about joining Stampin' Up!? Well, I have some exciting news about an incredible offer for you tomorrow! So do pop back then to find out more!

Baubles!!

Good morning!
It's time for our new challenge at CAS-Colours and Sketches, and I have literally just made this card! I have such a hectic week that I just didn't get chance to design my card, and really thought I wasn't going to make it in time! But I was up at 6.30 this morning so I had a bonus half hour before Keiran got up!

So this week is a sketch from Louise...

And here is the quick card I made!

I have used a retired stamp and punch bundle for this. I heat embossed the baubles with Cherry Cobbler and Gold Stampin' Emboss.

I embossed the bottom panel with the Modern Mosaic EF...it kind of matches the baubles don't you think? The ribbon is Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding.

Here is what I used...
If you would like any of the items I used, I would be very happy to place an order for you, or, if you prefer, you can simply click on the pictures to find the items in my shop :)

Right...time to go and get breakfast ready! Have a lovely Thursday!

Lullaby Baby

Good morning!
I hope you had a great weekend? I did! I went to Harry Potter Studios on Saturday, and London on Sunday. It was a really fun weekend, but now I'm back and blogging!

So I am going to show you a card I made for a commission...a cute new baby card...

I used some gorgeous DSP for this card...Lullaby...isn't it sweet? I used the cute bunny from the Baby We've Grown stamp set.

The sentiment was created on MDS and I finished with some Baker's Twine and three pearls.

Here is what I used...
So would you like to see some photos of our weekend away? Ok...go on then!

Here is my very own little Harry Potter!

Keiran with a Sabre Toothed Tiger at the Natural History Museum

And here he is reflecting at the poppies at the Tower Of London. This really was an incredibly moving experience, to think that for each poppy, a UK military life was lost in the First World War....

And there are still more poppies to be planted...so sad.

With that, I hope your day is a worthwhile one...

I Love Lace!!

Hello!
It's Thursday which means it's time for a new challenge at CAS-Colours and Sketches, and we have a fabby colour combo this week, given to us by Louise...

I do love this colour combo, but I haven't used it for a while so I initially struggled with it. Then I remembered my new background stamp...

This stunning stamp is I Love Lace and I stamped it in Basic Black...doesn't it look full of texture??

I then wrapped the Hello Honey Stitched Satin ribbon around my stamped panel and added a bow. The sentiment is from Lots of Thanks and I punched it using the Label Bracket punch. To create the matting, I punch two shapes from black card, cut each in half through the points, then placed one piece at each edge...isn't it effective? I finished with a little pearl.

This is what I used...

Golden Feel Goods

Hello peeps!
I have something a little different for you today...a commissioned Stampin' Framed I made a couple of weeks ago.

This is made using the ever stunning Swallowtail stamp and one of the verses from Feel Goods...there are some lovely verses in this set!

I was asked to make this for a Golden Wedding Anniversary, with the theme of red and gold. The Swallowtail is stamped in Real Red and the sentiment is heat embossed in Gold Stampin' Emboss. I got perfect placement of my sentiment using my Stamp-a-ma-juig...I don't know what I'd do without it!

Here is what I used...
Keiran has his school photos today and he was left at school with strict instructions not to remove his jumper before his photo is taken...given how warm it is I fully expect him to and for him to have a Mohican in his pictures!

A one layer Festival of Tree!

Hello again!
Here is another of the lovely Christmas cards I made last week...this one is truly simple!

This is another aperture card...I think they offer a lot of interest without too much fuss, don't you? Again, see how the light shine's through, just like yesterday's card?

I began by die cutting the tree shape using the die from the Snowflake Card Thinlits. The Magnetic platform for the Bigshot made sure my little tree stayed in position whilst I die cut it...I don't know how I managed before I got mine!

then I carefully, and very lightly, drew through the aperture the outline of the tree. This was my guide for stamping one of the trees from the Festival of Trees stamps on the inside of the card.

I then simply line up the stamp inside the pencil lines and stamped my Pear Pizzazz tree, which was easy as they are Photopolymer so I could see exactly where I was stamping. The sentiment is from the Good Greetings stamp set and I used my Stamp-a-ma-Jig to perfectly place that. I finished with a few tiny nail art gems.

The Good Greetings stamp set is an exclusive set, available FREE, only if you place an order of £200 or more. You can either place a lovely yummy order yourself, get friends and family to combine an order with you, or host a party and if the sales reach £200, you will receive the set FREE!
