CAS One Layer Card-With Love

Good morning and happy Sunday!
Well this challenge at Less Is More got me thinking about all the other digi stamps I have from CCMWYPC and so I spent last night having a look through them and found this one...
I thought it was perfect for this type of card! I coloured it with my watercolour pencils (so glad I've dug them out again!). The only think was, I couldn't seem to align it properly on the left edge, so...
...I decided to deliberately postion the image so that it would go over the fold and onto the back of the card, and I love the way it looks!

Now, this wasn't my first attempt, I tried it with Promarkers too. *Warning* This image is not easily coloured with Promarkers! Especially on a card blank and not super smooth card. Anyway, here is the result of that attempt, which I quite like too. It's just such a fine picture to colour in that it was very difficult to keep within the lines, or prevent bleeding.

Which one do you prefer?
I'm off to finish a 'man' card now...I will post it later, if I like it!

  2. Its a lovely card Lizy. I think I prefer the one coloured with pencils though - I like the delicate colours you've used. Thank you for visiting my blog. The font used on my card is Edwardian Script.

  3. I think I prefer the pencil colouring in this case. It looks more gentle and as it's a single layer, there wouldn't be the problem of colour showing through the card from alcohol markers.
    Another fab card Lizy!

  4. Lizy, this is beautiful. I definitely prefer the softer finish achieved with the watercolour pencils. I think you are probably right about my pearls but sadly it was a card needed 'yesterday' lol!

I hope you are after the swirly font on my card as I can't remember what the plainer one was! The swirly one is called Baroque Script & you can find it here.

    Thanks for visiting x

  5. Hi Lizy. I love the way the image goes over the back of the card. It's a beautiful image and I love the colours you've used. I'm one of the few crafters left in the world who doesn't own any promarkers, I do actually prefer the watercoloured card, that's not to say the other one isn't lovely too, it's just my preference :0) Jo x

  13. Love the softness of the pencil one although both are fab. Wrapping the image around the spine of the card is a great technique too.
