Follow Your Arrow...

...and do want want! (see bottom of post...it makes sense, honest!)

Good morning!
It's time for another challenge at Sketch Saturday and this week it has been designed by Cathy...

Isn't it fab? For my card I used an old but still current stamp for the main image...Summer Silhouettes.

I stamped my image in Basic Black onto Very Vanilla cardstock.

I used some of the retiring Modern Medley DSP for my background panels and finished with the sentiment from Express Yourself hostess set, which is also retiring.

Now after you have had a look at the rest of the DT cards, go ahead and make yours and don't forget to link it up to our challenge!

Jen and I went to see the wonderful and very sweet Kacey Masgraves in concert last night, and she was brilliant! We've seen her 4 times now, including when she supported Lady Antebellum and she never disappoints! Here she is...

I really do need a pair of those boots!
Do Google her and check out one of her songs, Follow Your Arrow and let me know what you think! :)

Have a great weekend!

Feel Good Swallowtail

Hello all!
Just a quick one today to show you the little gift I made for Jen for her birthday...

I used one of the sentiments from the Feel Goods set, and heat embossed it in Pewter embossing powder (retiring) over the top of the Swallowtail, which I stamped in Pool Party.

I mounted the image panel onto Pool Party card then used the mount that came with the frame to give a finished look.

I really do love these and plan to make something similar with Keiran for his teachers.

As you may remember, we bought a tent on Tuesday, and we decided to have a go at putting it up yesterday afternoon...

I say 'we'...I actually put it up myself...not easy, and it took me nearly 90 minutes, but I got there! I have never put up a proper tent before so I was very pleased with myself! I haven't got it back in the bag yet though as it started raining so it is drying out in the garage...that will be the true challenge I'm sure!

5 days to go!!

Have a wonderful Friday!

New Baby and New Catalogue...FREE!!

Good morning and a huge welcome to my newest follower via Bloglovin...Susan! Thank you for joining me here in blog world...I hope you enjoy my creations and waffling!

It's new sketch day at CAS-Colours and Sketches this week and it's time for a sketch with a difference!

I took my inspiration from the shape shown here, mainly as that is about the only shape Framelit I have big enough to make a card!

I used the cute Sweetest Gift (retiring) stamp set for this one, mainly as I knew the mobile would 'hang' perfectly!

I coloured the stamp using Stampin' Write Markers and 'hung' it using nail pearls. The card base was die cut using the Labels Collection Framelits, and was embossed using the Chevron EF. I trimmed off the bottom so it would stand firmly.

Do you have a copy of the brand new catalogue yet? No?

Well if you place an order either through me, or my online shop, between now and 8pm on June 30th I will send you one for FREE! Not only that, but you will also receive one of my cute little bookmarks with all the yummy new In Colours for 2014/16!

What do you have planned for today? I am working, shopping and crafting...wonder which I prefer more... ;)

In Color showcase!

Hi all!
As you know there is a brand new catalogue out on Tuesday (yay!!!), and with it are 5 beautiful new In Colours!

So today's offering is to show you each of the 5 colours...

No, not 5 projects...all of the colours on one! Admittedly when I started I had only intended to use 3, but the more I played the more I decided that all 5 would actually work!

I used the fabulous Hardwood stamp (Lost Lagoon) along with the very popular Petite Petals (Hello Honey) and Gorgeous Grunge (Tangelo Dream and Mossy Meadow)...these work so very well together! The sentiment from Happy Watercolor was stamped in Blackberry Bliss.

What do you think? Do all the colours work together?

So are you as excited as me about the new release? If you are, and you would like you very own catalogue complete with a little bookmark showing all of the new In Colors, please do contact me...I'd be more than happy to send you one! :)

For new customers, they are £5 including UK postage, which I will deduct off your first order, no minimum spend!

I am also happy to post catalogues to Germany, France, The Netherlands and Austria, where I can also sell to so please do contact me if you would like one!

I am going to the gym now, then I may attempt to put up our new tent that we got for a bargain from Argos! A 4 man Regatta all weather tent, reduced from £259.99 to just £99.99!! I'll let you know how I get on!

6 days to go!!!

Have a lovely Wednesday!

Sneak Peek!!

Hi everyone!
It was my friend Jen's birthday on Sunday, and I want to share the card I made for her, using a sneak peek from the brand new catalogue!!

This is a very elegant lady from Girls Night Out, and I stamped her onto Vellum Cardstock, then coloured her with Stampin' Write markers. Oh and do you recognise the colours?

Well if you don't you could be forgiven! They are the new 2014/2016 In Colours...Blackberry Bliss and Lost Lagoon. The background is Petite Petals and one of the leaves from Stippled Blossoms. The coloured layer is also Lost Lagoon.

This is a fabulous stamp set, perfect for all your girly occasions!

I think Jen liked the card...I really enjoyed making it!
These items will be available to buy from Tuesday...are you as excited as me?!! I shall be up at midnight ready with my fingers poised and my (very scared) credit card at the ready!

7 days to go!!

Have a lovely Tuesday

Retro Fresh Notebook

Good morning everyone! And it is another stunner of a morning here in Bolton!

This morning I have an altered notebook I made for my stall this weekend, and it was actually the first one I sold!

I used some fabby Retro Fresh DSP, and the brilliant Essentials Wooden Elements. I wrote on the speech bubble using my Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Marker.

The ribbon is some old SU! from my stash.

I have loads of these notebooks ready to alter...I really must get them done!

Have a wonderful day and hopefully see you tomorrow! :)

A Beautiful Baroque Baptism card

Hello and good morning to all you Sketch Saturday fans out there!
We have a fabulous new sketch for you, designed by Debra...
I like this one very much...I don't seem to make cards with many layers much any more, so it was nice to have a change!

I made this for a commission order, and I am very pleased with it, as was the customer! The embossed background is made using the Beautiful Baroque Embossing Folder.

I used the gorgeous Trefoil Cross for this card, heat embossed in Pewter Stampin' Emboss (retiring). Isn't it just beautiful?

I really enjoyed working with this sketch and I'm sure you will too! Do pop on over to the other DT blogs if you need more inspiration! :)
Looking forward to see your entries!

Get Well...not too girly!

Hello! Yay it's Friday!
Are you doing anything fun this weekend? I have a stall at a church fair...it was a good one at Christmas so here's hoping this one is too!

I have been busy making card to fill the gaps in my card boxes, and I realised I had very few Get Well cards, so here is one...

I used the Tag It (retiring) stamps to make this one and stamped it in Basic Gray. The DSP is from Quatrefancy (retiring)...nice and bright but not too girly!

I layered it onto Basic Gray card, then a card blank, the finished with some Linen Thread and a Naturals Designer Button (retiring).
It's not a particularly girl card so I think a man might quite like it too!

I'm off on the school run now, then the bank to replace my lost debit card....I think I left it in Aldi!
Have a great day one and all!

Everything Eleanor

Hello all and thanks for popping by today!
We have a new challenge over at CAS-Colours and Sketches, and this week is a colour challenge...

This is such a fresh colour combination, don't you think? So I wanted to make something clean and fresh...here it is!

Do you recognise the stamp set? That's right...it's Everything Eleanor, teamed with some Coastal Cabana Ruffled Stretch Ribbon.

The medallion was stamped in Crisp Cantaloupe, and the flowers were stamped in Wisteria Wonder. I finished with a few nail art pearls. I haven't decided on a sentiment yet.

There are some gorgeous DT cards, so do pop over and see their cards too...we're looking forward to seeing your entries!

Have you seen the Weekly Deals this week?? There are some fab items on there, with fabulous discounts! Do pop on over and have a look...remember, they are only on offer for one week!

There have been some problems with the online shop this week, so if you are struggling to place an order, please give me a shout and I'll be very happy to place your order for you, still direct to your home!

I've spent a few hours over the last couple of days jet washing my back garden, so now I am starting to feel like my garden is getting to how I want it to be! I might even get time to enjoy it this summer!

In fact I have been working so hard on the garden I think Keiran felt guilty as he said 'I'll do the washing up Mummy so you can finish your tea and have a longer rest!' How cute?? And he did it too! Only 6 and he knows how to get on my good side! ;)

Have a lovely Thursday and hopefully I'll see you tomorrow!

Butterflies Framed

Hello!
Here is a little Stampin' Framed for you today...it's based on one I made a few weeks ago, but I was asked to make one in pink and silver for a lovely little girl's bedroom, so here it is!

I have used the Best Of Butterflies stamps and heat embossed them in Silver and Melon Mambo (retiring) Stampin' Emboss.

I then embossed a couple of lines down either side of the butteflies, to give a sort of a frame.

I had a really productive day yesterday, getting most of the back garden jet washed, doing a bunch of ironing, and picking our first few strawberries!

Mmmm they were yummy!
Have a lovely Wednesday!

HapBEE Wedding day!

Hello!
I was asked to make a wedding card featuring 2 bees, and as I have no stamps with bees, I had to get somewhat creative! So I decided to make a punch art bee couple!

I used the Ornament Keepsakes Framelits for this little project, along with circle and oval punches.

I used Vellum Cardstock for the wings, then I made a top hat for the groom and a veil from some Organza Ribbon. The background is created using the Hexagon Embossing Folder.

I quite enjoyed making this one...it's a little different for me!

It was sports day yesterday for Keiran, and I was very proud of him! He came 1st in the running, and second in the sack race and obstacle races! :)
Here he is winning his running race!

I hope you have a wonderful day today...enjoy, whatever you're doing!

Lots of Bundles in a card in a box!

Good morning!
Did you have a good weekend?
Did you watch the football?? I did...I thought we played better than we have done for a long time...shame the result didn't reflect it!

Ah well...back to something we all love...crafting! Here is a card that was a commission for a couple who got married this weekend...

I was given a brief of bunting, spots and stripes, and informal...I think I covered it!

I used the Banner Greetings stamps from this year's Sale-a-bration for the bunting.

I then used a few bundles to create the flowers and the sentiments. Flower Shop, Petite Petals, Secret Garden and Label Love. These bundles are all 15% cheaper when you buy the stamps and punch/framelits together, but do hurry as some of them retire as a bundle on 30th June. (You will still be able to buy some of them individually, just not as a cheaper bundle).

I really enjoyed making this card...in fact, I love making Box Cards lots, I just don't have the time to make them with everything else!

I have Keiran's Sports day today, so I shall be dashing there after work today!

I shall be back tomorrow, so if you like what I posted today, why not become a follower by clicking on one of the links in the sidebar on the right >>>
I'd love it if you did! :)

Sketch Saturday DT card and mini tutorial!

Good morning Sketch Saturday fans!
We have a new sketch for you today, and I have a little, quick tutorial too!

So first the sketch...
Isn't it great?

So here is what I made...

I used the HipHip Hooray card kit for my card and believe me when I say it took me all of about 3 minutes! And that includes the chevrons!

The brilliant thing about this kit is that you are given everything you need to make 24 cards! That's stamps, ink, a clear block (yes really!), embellishments, baker's twine, stickers, card blanks and envelopes! The only extra bit I added were the punched chevron bits. Now I don't have the clever chevron border punch (yet!) but I did figure out a way to make them using the Hexagon punch!

First, measure a piece of card 3cm wide, then measure the middle point and faintly draw a line, as below... (it doesn't really matter how long the card is)

Next, line up one of the points of your hexagon punch with the middle line and punch. Repeat for as many chevrons as you need.

And voila! Quick and easy chevrons!

Neat trick isn't it? Hope you find it useful!

I have a busy day today helping out at the school summer fayre, then visiting my friend's summer fayre, then some quality time with Keiran...can't wait!
Have a terrific Saturday, and don't forget to link up your card to the challenge!
