Blue Monday

Good morning!
I'm here today to share another Beautiful You project, this time it's a card, and this elegant lady is feeling a little 'blue'...

I sponged the background using Pacific Point ink (I need to practice I think!) and stamped my sentiment over the top.

After water colouring the lady I fussy cut her out and popped her up on Dimensonals.

I really like the simplicity of this card, and the sentiment works so well, doesn't it?

I have one more of these lovely ladies ready to show you, so I plan to be back with that one soon.

In the mean time, if you would like to order this gorgeous set for yourself, please just click through to my shop, over on the right >>>>
(and don't forget to add a FREE Sale-A-Bration item for EVERY £45 you spend!)

Have a (not so blue) Monday!

Helloooo Beautiful You!!

Well hello to you all!
Yes, I admit, it's been a while. A long while in fact! Not to make excuses but life has been somewhat busier over the last year or two, as Keiran now does activities every evening, and that means when I get in there are things that need doing around the house, or I'm just shattered! That on top of all the studying I had been doing and it left me little time for 'myself'!

I have managed to do a little crafting recently though, and I'd like to show you one of my makes, if I may?

As you probably know by now, there is a wonderful stamp set in the Spring/Summer catalogue called Beautiful You, and to be fair, you've probably seen lots of samples using it, but I'm sharing one of mine today anyway! I really love this set...it's just so elegant and versatile!

I decided I would rather like to see this carefree lady dancing under the sun, on a notebook. I used the brilliant new Watercolor Pencils and an Aqua Painter to colour this lovely lady. I do love these pencils! They have bought back my love for colouring!

The pencils are ideal for colouring on more porous mediums as they don't soak in and become difficult to blend like wet ink does, so they were perfect for this notebook with it's slightly rough cover.

I used Kinda Eclectic to add the sun, and see the shimmery sparkle? I created that using my clear Wink Of Stella pen...subtle but effective!

Don't forget that it is Sale-A-Bration until the end of March, which means for every £45 you spend with me, you get to choose a FREE item from the SAB brochure!! That's for EVERY £45!! So there really is no limit to the freebies!

If you would like me to send you a Spring/Summer catalogue and Sale-A-Bration Brochure, free of charge, please just contact me and I will be more than happy to do so!

And if you would like to order any of the items I used today, please click through to my shop over there on the right >>>>>>>>

Right, I'm off to work now, but I hope to be back soon with another lovely project!

Happy Sunday!

Sketch Saturday #301

Hello everyone!
We had an amazing response to our challenge and blog hop last week! If you remember, there were secret prizes along the way which you had a chance to win by commenting on all the blogs. I'm excited to say that I was offering a prize!
So who was my winner?
Drum roll please..........

Congratulations! Please contact me to claim your prize.

Ok so now onto this week's sketch!

I had to make a card in a hurry for a commission and I thought this sketch was just perfect for it!

I used a super cute James Bear stamp from Lili Of he Valley and coloured him with Stampin' Write Markers and Aqua Painters. The thing I love about the inks is that they are so easy to match up with Stampin' Up! designer papers! The paper I have used here is Birthday Basics.

I used the Elegant Stripes embossing folder to give interest to the otherwise plain background.

Happy Watercolour on Film

Good morning!
Have you been having fun looking through the new catalogues via the links in my sidebar? Aren't there some stunning things and fabulous project ideas?

I have another card today, made using some of the new products, here it is...

I have used Happy Watercolour for the poppy and I stamped it in Versamark, then heat embossed in White Stampin' Emboss, before rubbing Real Red on with a Sponge. I wiped the image once the ink had dried to remove the excess from the outlines. I then masked the poppy and washed soft sky ink over it using my Aqua Painters.

I then cut out the panel with the poppy on and popped it into the die cut film strip from The On Film Framelits. Before adding these to the card blank, I stamped a background with the 'blotchy' stamp from Watercolour wonder and Soft Sky ink. I finished with the sentiment stamped in Real Red, after once stamping off to soften the effect.

If you would like me to send you a new Spring/Summer catalogue and a Sale-a-Bration brochure for only £2 including first class p&p, please do contact me, then you can have your very own to tick, star or mark any way you like!

Anyway, off to the gym now...have a lovely day! :)

A bit of watercolouring

Hello everyone.
I have a card that is a little bit different today, in that I have tried a technique I haven't used before.

I used a watercolour 'wash' for the background by simply using Garden Green ink and Aqua Painters. As the pens hold the water in them they are great for creating this effect as they let a fair bit of water through the brush. Once the panel had dried I embossed it using the Stripes EF and the sanded it using a sanding block.

The stamped panel is from Best of Sale-a-Bration and I coloured the stamp up with Garden Green, Summer Starfruit and Smoky Slate before stamping and cutting out. The strip of DSP is Summer Starfruit and I finished with some Smoky Slaky Chevron ribbon and Whisper White baker's twine.

I am entering my card into the following challenges...

Tulips from....

Erm, well Bolton actually! They were inspired by my recent trip to Holland though! That and the challenge over at Less Is More this week which is...

Use a Rubber Stamp
and watercolouring!

So I dug out my Watercolour Paper and Aqua Painters and got to work...not quite a Van Gogh!

I used the tulip from the Backyard Basics set, and cut it out with the matching die. They really do make life easy! The embossing folder is Stylish Stripes from the new seasonal catalogue. Can you see the paper pierced corners? I've seen it around quite a bit lately and thought it would work well here.

The sentiment is from the hostess set Express Yourself.

Other Challenges

Thanks for popping by...it's nice to be here on a Saturday morning!
