Swinging Birthday Boy!

Hello!
How's the snow where you are? It's melting quite quickly here...our snowman has lost his head already!

Anyway, looking to sunnier times and chance for little boys to play out, here is a quick card I made using up one of my previously coloured images...

This cute little man is from Lili Of The Valley and I coloured him with Promarkers, and chalked in the background.

I distressed the edges of the Dovecraft Sugar and Spice DP with some sandpaper, and the edges of the image and the embossed panel with my distressing tool. The embossed panel is from the Sale-A-Bration freebies from Stampin' Up! You can place your orders through me here. The sentiment is from Personal Impressions.

Thanks so much for popping by tonight! :)

Less Is More - One Layer - Houses

Good morning LIMettes!
How is everyone? I have a chocolate hangover today! I got a craving last night that wouldn't go away so I ate a whole box of Thornton's Choccies! Ooops! It wasn't a huge box, thankfully! So I shall have to work super hard at the gym today!

Anyway, today at Less Is More, I'm thrilled that my best buddy Jen has been chosen to help Chrissie out while Mandi is getting her wedding business up and running...congrats hun!

There is a one layer challenge this week, with an unusual theme...

HOUSES

Now, as it happens, I have just the card as I made it for my friend's brother and sis-in-law for their new house, and couldn't figure out where to blog it!
The stamp is one of Jen's which I stamped twice. The castle was hand drawn by me! I didn't want it to look perfect as the other houses weren't. I only coloured the castle and not the houses as I wanted it to have the stand out effect. I chalked the background as it looked too 'white'...now I'm not sure if there is enough 'white'...
The sentiment inside says 'An Englishman's home is his castle...welcome home'

Time for work now...then the gym...then a bit of crafting with Jen!
Byeeeee!

Red, White & Blue 3

Hello again!
Two posts in one day lol!
Well this is my last entry into Less Is More's Red, White and Blue challenge.

Very simply, I used the remains of the Daisies I used in my first LIM card this week as masks and chalked them.
Ok...off to watch Bones!
Goodnight!

Marissa and her Guitar

Hello!!!
Well what a busy day I had yesterday! Keiran and I planted absolutely tonnes of seeds! Potatoes, broccoli, carrots, lettuce, courgettes, runner beans, french beans, broad beans, squash, cabbage, onions, spring onions, leeks, sprouts, Marigolds, Busy Lizzies, Hollyhock, Delphinium...I think that's everything lol! So if they all come through, (which I doubt but hey hum!), we'll be quite self sufficient this year! Provided we're allowed to water them lol!

And then I even made chicken and mushroom pie for tea, with homemade pastry!! And it was yum! Not perfect, but yum! :)

Anyway, after all that hard work, I decided I needed an hour or so of crafting time so after doing some colouring in yesterday morning (I know...how busy was I??!), I had some images to play with, so here is a card I made with one of them...

This gorgeous little girly is Marissa with her Guitar from Saturated Canary, and she is brightly colour with Promarkers. The papers and sentiment are MME Quite Contrary paperstack, and the twine is from The Ribbon Girl. I distressed the edges of each panel using my craft knife, while I wait for my Tim Holtz distressing tool to arrive, so the edges don't look as distressed as they could. The background and 'aura' is chalked using Dovecraft chalks.

Well thanks for looking and hope to be back tomorrow! :)

Sketch Saturday #196 and Saturated Canary!

Good Morning everyone!
I hope you're all well!
Well I can't believe it but another week has flown by so it's time for another challenge at Sketch Saturday!
This week is all about Tracey, and here is her sketch...
Awesome isn't it?! The other great news is that we are sponsored by
So with that said, here is my card...

Now when I saw the sketch it screamed 'girly, lacy, doily, pink!' Then I went away, chose my image, and realised it was for this sketch, doh! So I had to forgo the girly card I thought I was making for this, but you know what? I love it! I loved the image anyway and knew I wanted to use it...I just thought I would struggle with the rest...but I didn't! I didn't even know I had such perfect papers lol!

Anyway, recipe...
SC Skateboarding
Promarkers
Papermania - For Him papers
Dovecraft Chalk
everything else is from stash.

Challenges

Off to my market now...wish me luck! :)

Happy Anniversary

Good morning!
And welcome again to another 2 new followers! :) Sandra and Ladyoflosttimes!
I woke up this morning with an idea for another card for the Less Is More Sketch challenge this week. Here it is...

I masked off the panel with low tack tape, (tip - stick it to your clothes first to remove excess tack so it doesn't tear your card when you remove it...even low tack tape seems to stick a bit too much!), then graduated 3 different shades of black/grey chalk up the card to my Stampin' Up! image. I also added chalk above the image. The sentiment is Inkadinkado - Wedding/Marriage.
Simple but I really like the effect! :)

Ok I have another idea...be back later! :)

Strawberry Jam :)

Good afternoon all!
I know, I know......it's 4.35pm on a Saturday so where is my Less Is More Lucky Dip 'FRUITY' challenge entry?! Well unfortunately I had to work at 8am this morning, and then had to mow the lawn before Jen came over for some crafting time so this is the first chance I've had to have a go! And here it is.....

The stamp is from another magazine freebie called Fairies of the Season, can't remember which mag though. I have gently coloured it with chalks and mounted it onto a red panel. Gingham ribbon is the perfect finish to the card I think :)
Now going to try and find my mojo to make a load of pre-ordered cards!
Bye for now!

LIM Birthday

Good evening LIMettes!
Wow what a day! I have been at the market all day, which was very successful by the way, and then work this evening so I have only just managed to make my LIM card for this week's colour challenge, which, for the 'not yet LIMettes' reading this, is shades of blue. I didn't get chance to make as many cards for last week's challenge as I wanted to either......something I shall attempt to remedy this week, though I have 10 cards ordered from my market today that I need to get on with!
Anyway, here is my first card......

I started by punching the border with an MS punch., then chalked through the flowers onto the inner of the card. I used 2 shades of blue Dovecraft chalk for this, then a lighter shade for the front of the card. The sentiment is stamped using Sky Blue Versacolour ink and I chalked the edges of the sentiment. This was supposed to be stamped straight onto the card, but it smudged so I had to 'fix' it! I finished with a small piece of organza ribbon and some pearls.

Hope you like it...I am shattered so I think I should go to bed now!
Goodnight all!

#5 LIM

Good morning all!
After a tidy up in the garden this morning, before it rains again, here is another entry into LIM-Pick A Square Challenge.
I found this to be one of the hardest cards to design......using the top left square. But I remembered this recently bought stamp from cArt-us and I thought it would be perfect.

I stamped it in Rich Cocoa Memento and the sentiment is from the Kanban set I've been using.......Autumn Silhouettes. Inside I'm going to print 'Have a great time!'

Back with the final one tomorrow......got the idea in my head...... ;)

Some more Less is More!

Hey everyone!
I had a lovely day yesterday at my friend Gemma's little girl Amelia's Baptism. It was a lovely service and the 'do after' was fab......wonderful venue at Prestwich bowling, cricket and tennis club!

Anyway, I havea couple of cards to make for orders, but while stuff is drying on them I managed to have a little play with some of my stamps and my new chalks.
This first one is from the Kanban Autumn Silhouettes again but this time I used both the 'positive' and 'negative' stamps of the tree. I started with the positive and stamped the tree with Versamark. I then coloured it with my new chalks, using a cotton bud for the small areas. Then I stamped using the negative stamp and before colouring I placed a small circle to mask off for the sun. I then cloured with chalks and then removed the circle and coloured the sun. Not sure if it really shows on here.....but itdoes look really effective in the 'flesh'!

This second one is from cArt-us and I again stamped inVersamark, and coloured with the chalks. The sentiments are both from the Kanban set, stamped in Rich Cocoa Memento.
Hope you like today's offerings for the Less is More - Pick a Square challenge. It's the first time I've tried masking...bit gutted it doesn't show on the photo!

Less Is More - pick a square

Happy LIM-day everyone!
Yes it's Saturday morning and as I'm not working I've managed to get my first entry in early......unlike last week!
Anyway, the theme or sketch this week is 'pick a square'......my first thought was a bit 'oooh erm...' but having seen Chrissie and Mandi's lovely creations it's much easier than I first thought!

The stamp is Kanban, stamped with Versamark and colouring with my bargain new Dovecraft chalks from Dunelm Mill and the sentiment is computer generated. Simples!

Ok breakfast time now! ;)
