Hardwood Easter Cross.

Hello peeps!
I have an Easter card for you today that I made for my neighbour. It was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest. You can see the original here.

I stamped the Hardwood Background stamp in Soft Suede on Crumb Cake cardstock, then cut two strips. I added a cross of Linen Thread to give the effect it was holding them together.

The flowers are created using two of the punches from the Bitty Punch Pack, and the middles are punched holes with a little Crystal Effects for some subtle shine. The sentiment is from Blessed Easter and is stamped with Crumb Cake and So Saffron.

I'm entering my card into the challenge at SUO Challenges - Easter.

Do you send Easter cards? This will be the first year that I have. I'm not sure why I never have before...

Anyway, I'm off to work...catch you tomorrow!

Petite Daffodils for Mum

Hello!
I would like to welcome my newest followers to my blog...Carla, Elaine, Mary Jo, Jacqueline and Jeanne. Whether you have come from my old blog, or are brand new followers, it's so wonderful to see you here!

Ok UK Mother's Day will soon be here, and I decided to be early with my Mum's card for a change! I'm usually 'last minute Lizy' so this is a first for me! My Mum loves daffodils, and I wanted to do her a card with them on, but I don't have any daffodil stamps. So I made my own...

I used 3 different stamp sets for the daffodils. Petite Petals, Mosaic Madness and Blessed Easter. I inked up just the leaves from the Blessed Easter stamp with Pear Pizzazz Marker and water coloured it with the same. The daffodils are created by stamping and punching the Petite Petals flower and the centre is stamped from the Mosaic Madness set, then punched using one of the little punches from the Bitty Punch set.

I cut the image out using one of the Ovals Collection Framelits, then used the next size up to cut an oval on my Whisper White layer. I paper pierced both ovals using the Paper Piercing Occasions pack before mounting onto an A5 Pear Pizzazz card base. (I just noticed that I missed one of the piercings...I will have to fix that!) The sentiment was fussy cut, (and I do mean fussy!), from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments set.

I am going to enter my card into the challenge at Less is More - Green and Yellow...I'm making up for missing the last couple of weeks!

It is the first day of Lent today, and this year we have a Love Live, Live Lent theme, which means that rather than give something up, (which let's face it, is usually to benefit yourself), we are encouraged to 'Be the change' and do something nice to try and change the world. So each day, I am going to post that one thing each day...who knows? Maybe the world really will become a better place! So here is today's task...

Think about something you have done wrong and say sorry.

I have a crafty date today with Serena, a friend from work and I am really looking forward to it! Hope you have a lovely day too!

Crosses of Hope

Good morning!
I had such a lovely afternoon designing wedding invitations with Jen yesterday! I have 3, possibly 4 weddings to cater for this year, so it was nice to sit and play with different ideas and materials. One thing we did discover, Tombow glue, available from my online shop, is perfect for attaching vellum to anything! It is actually invisible! I can see a lot of it getting used in our future ventures!

Anyway, you probably want to see a card right? Ok well then I might just spoil you!

This set of pretty Easter Cards is made using the Crosses of Hope stamp set. Now I know the physical set is retired, but the digital version on MDS is still available for only £1.50, and the best thing is that you can resize them to whatever size you like!

I teamed the crosses (which I coloured with my Stampin' Write Markers) with the sentiment from Blessed Easter, available from the Spring/Summer catalogue and finished with two of the tiny butterflies from Beautiful Wings Embosslits. I love the coloured card blanks I used in these cards...they really give that touch of spring!

Easter Tulips

Hello and welcome to my new look blog!
If you are visiting from Creatin' and Stampin', I hope you will follow me here instead and continue to use my blog to inspire you!

Do you like the design of my blog? I am very proud to say that it is all my creation and I used Stampin' Up! MDS to make it all pretty! It took a while, but I am very happy with it indeed!

I have also transferred all my posts over from my old blog too, so if you have missed any, please have a little browse...you never know what you might find! ;)

Ok so I guess you'd like to see a card or two right?
Well I can do better than that...today I have another set of five for you!

For these I have used Blessed Easter again, but as promised yesterday, I have used the entire stamp this time. I've coloured the tulips with my Stampin' Write markers.

I stamped an extra set of flowers for each card, coloured and paper snipped them, curled them, then popped them on the cards using silicone glue. I like the 'real' effect I got by giving them dimension.

These are really simple cards but they look so pretty don't you think?

First Easter cards!

Good morning my lovely followers!
I am sorry for having been AWOL for a few days...apart from it being half term, towards the end of the week I got some sort of a virus and it knocked me sideways a bit and apart from the things I have to do, I haven't felt much like doing anything! I am feeling a whole lot more like myself now though, so I have a lovely set of Easter cards to show you...

I have used one of the lovely stamp sets from the Spring/Summer catalogue, Blessed Easter, combined with the Trefoil Cross from the annual catalogue.

The Blessed Easter stamp actually comes with gorgeous tulips as part of the stamp, which I will be showing you tomorrow, but for these cards I have only used the sentiment worked perfectly with the cross.

Isn't it a pretty cross? I can see that I will be using it lots, not just for Easter but for Christening, Baptism, Confirmation etc. I created a frame around my sentiment using the Paper Piercing Essentials pack. I think it gives it a little bit more interest and focus don't you?

I had a lovely week off last week with Keiran. We went to Knowsley Safari Park, the cinema, baked bread and banana bread, visited friends and soft play centres and a farm....I'm glad to be back at work for a rest! ;)
Have a fab Tuesday and see you tomorrow! :)
