Simply Sketched 'En Francais'

Hello, hello!
How are you all today? I'm here with my DT card for CAS - Colours and Sketches, and this week we are working from a sketch...

When I started this card, I didn't really know where it was going, but then it all seemed to come together, and now I love it!

I have used a Bermuda Bay and Real Red colour combo, inspired by a birthday card I was given by Jen back in February. The stamps I used are the gorgeous hostess set Simply Sketched, En Francais and the extremely popular Petite Petals.

I punched some corners for interest and added pearls, and punched out the flowers with the the Petite Petal punch and again added a pearl.

On Monday Keiran had a visit to the farm and was so lucky to see 2 lambs being born! You're expecting a cute picture right? Hmmmm not quite!

This is his drawing of the event...the sheep is being held down by the lady (top) so it doesn't run away, and the man (to the left) has his hand up it's bum, apparently! He really made me chuckle bless him!

Anyway...get those cards made and entered into our challenge (please!)

A bit of the Wetlands

Morning all!
It's time for our new challenge at CAS - Colours and Sketches and this week it's a colour challenge.

My friend asked me to make a birthday card for her husband, but she had absolutely no theme for me to work with so I had complete free reign! So I borrowed the gorgeous stamp set Wetlands from Jen and here is what I made...

I have always admired the way this stamp has been used so I don't really know why I haven't bought it! I thoroughly enjoyed making this card!

I sponged Marina Mist for the water and Pear Pizzazz for the grass. The birds and grass were stamped using Chocolate Chip, then I sponged the goose with a little more Chocolate Chip.

More stash used!

Hello all!
I have a lovely little card again with a scrap I found on my desk during my major tidy up! All I had to do was sponge some blue ink around the edges to create the feel of a scene.

I also distressed the edges of the image panel a little, mainly because one edge was a little rough already...way to rescue it!

The lovely tree is from Serene Silhouettes and the sentiment is from Simply Sketched.

I have used the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch for my layout.

Woodgrain and Flowers

Good morning everyone!
How are you this Monday? I have had fun crafting and designing wedding invitations this weekend for a friend's wedding. I would love to share, but until she has sent them I think that would be unfair, don't you?

So instead, I have this to show you...

My inspiration for this card came from the photo at Fusion this week.

I used the Woodgrain stamp for the background, stamped in Early Espresso and I inked the edges with Chocolate Chip. The flowers are die cut from the Blossom Party Originals Bigz Die and the leaves are from the Bird Builder Punch.

The centres are created using a whole load of black gems from my stash. Having a root around my craft room has made me more willing to use up the things I have in my stash! In fact, I think I could make a card a day for the next 10 years, and never have to buy anything lol!

a Vintage Freestyle Collage kind of card!

Hello!!
How are you? Are you having a good week? I've had a busy one, emptying my craftroom ready to add some new staorage and a new desk! I can't wait to see how it will look! Of course, more storage means more room for stamps lol!

Anyway, here is a card I am particularly pleased with! I tried to make it 2 nights ago, but came to a standstill with it. You see, I wanted to make a card to enter the challenge at the brand new challenge blog, The Card Concept, using this picture for inspiration...

...but every time I tried, it seemed to go wrong! I wanted soft flowers and girliness, but it didn't go that way. Anyway, enough waffle...here is my card...

I used various stamps sets here...Simply Sketched for the sentiment, Happy Day for the medallion and Elements of Style for the bird. I fussy cut them both using my super sharp paper snips...I love them so much I have 2 pairs...a ribbon pair and paper pair!

I embossed the banner and the corner of the sentiment panel with Lacy Brocade EF, and the background is using Crumb Cake DSP (ret). I finished with Linen Thread, and some Liquid Pearls (not SU)

I said before that I'm entering at Card Concept. Well I also have to state what style of card I have gone with, and for this one I'm going with Freestyle Collage. The colours inspired me to go with a kind of vintage look too. I also used the sketch at Sweet Sunday too...

I'm off to Ikea tonight to buy some Expedits and Linmon (or something like that!) to transform my craftroom into an organised workspace! I shall post the pics when I've done! :)

Have a fab day...it's Friday!
