Feeling soppy!

Good morning!

I am in a very good mood today! Well, actually, I have been for a while now, so maybe I should explain...

*WARNING* Soppy post!!

A few weeks ago I met a wonderful man named Mike, and we have been seeing other since then. He makes me smile all the time and I am very happy! Anyway, I don't get to see him everyday, but I find myself thinking about him all the time, so I decided to make him this little card, which I posted and he got this morning, so now I can share...

I used elements all from the Hip Hip Hooray kit (appropriate name!) and added the sentiment from the Bloom With Hope Hostess set, stamped in Baked Brown Sugar. I also added a little Linen Thread and a heart punched from Baked Brown Sugar DSP with the new Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.

I do love the sentiment and it's perfect for how I feel these days!

Ok...normal service will resume tomorrow, but I can't promise I won't get soppy again in the future! ;)

Sketch Saturday DT card and mini tutorial!

Good morning Sketch Saturday fans! 

We have a new sketch for you today, and I have a little, quick tutorial too!

So first the sketch...

Isn't it great?

So here is what I made...

I used the HipHip Hooray card kit for my card and believe me when I say it took me all of about 3 minutes! And that includes the chevrons!

The brilliant thing about this kit is that you are given everything you need to make 24 cards! That's stamps, ink, a clear block (yes really!), embellishments, baker's twine, stickers, card blanks and envelopes! The only extra bit I added were the punched chevron bits. Now I don't have the clever chevron border punch (yet!) but I did figure out a way to make them using the Hexagon punch!

First, measure a piece of card 3cm wide, then measure the middle point and faintly draw a line, as below... (it doesn't really matter how long the card is)

Next, line up one of the points of your hexagon punch with the middle line and punch. Repeat for as many chevrons as you need.

And voila! Quick and easy chevrons!

Neat trick isn't it? Hope you find it useful!

Hip Hip Hooray!

Good morning!

Well after a busy weekend I'm back! And I have picked up another couple of followers, so I'd like to say a big 'HELLO!' to Simonne and Dora...enjoy my blog! :)

So here are a couple of cute little thank you cards, made using the Hip Hip Hooray card kit...

This kit is beyond awesome!! I literally made these 2 cards in 2 minutes! The kit is full of lots of sticky backed elements making them super quick to put together. 

There are also embellishments and bakers twine, and even better...

A stamp set, stamp block and a Basic Gray ink spot! So you really do not need anything else to make these brilliant cards! Oh and I forgot...there's also a fab project sheet so you don't even have to find inspiration! (although these cards are made to my own design)

These kits are perfect for beginners and seasoned crafters alike, and would make a wonderful gift for anyone, especially someone who wants to start crafting but doesn't know where to start.

Sketch Saturday #299

Good morning all! I can't believe it's March already! Happy St David's Day to all my Welsh readers and followers!

It's time for a new sketch at Sketch Saturday, and this week's is created by teamy Debra!

I think it lends itself well to a clean and simple card so that's what I did...

I had a commission for a man card with a cycling theme...I don't know if this was what the customer expected but I've had no complaint yet! I used one of the stamps from last year's Sale-a-Bration, Feeling Sentimental. I really loved this stamp when it came out and it just shows that even when retired, they still come in handy!

The DSP is also from the old retired paper stacks, but you can download it on MDS, so really, it never retires! I finished with a computer generated sentiment and a Candy Dot.

I really love a quick and easy card don't you? Especially when you need to make one in a hurry! Wouldn't it be great to have a stash of them? Well now you can! Let me show you something in case you missed my post last night...
