One for my guy!

Good morning!
I know it's been a while, but I'm still around, and still crafting! I just haven't felt much like blogging, if I'm honest. I've had busy days with work and the gym, not to mention running around after my little man, so I have just been relaxing in the evenings, and while I know I should be blogging, I would rather create!

So today I'm showing you the birthday card I made for Mike earlier this month...

I used the brilliant Guy Greetings stamp set for this one, along with some Neutrals DSP, a Soft Suede card base, and a bit of scrap Burlap Ribbon I had lying on my desk! It was just there, and I just knew it would work perfectly to 'ground' my man!

I fussy cut my man out, then popped him up on some Dimensionals to make him stand out. I used Watermelon Wonder ink for the sentiment to add some cheery contrast.

Reminder - Frugal Friday #2

Hi everyone!
I thought that today I would give you a little reminder of my Frugal Friday challenge. I have a new photo of scraps to show you...

See the little birdie? Well that is where I started. I must admit, I have never used this punch for the bird, just the branch! I have tried a couple of times but never got anywhere with it...this one was originally made for a frame but I decided not to use it after all.

I coloured the bird with Sponge Daubers and Tempting Turquoise and Soft Suede inks.

The background paper is from the Brights DSP collection and the sentiment is from Sweet Essentials, stamped in Smoky Slate and punched using the Modern Label punch.

Vintage Stampin' Framed

Hello everyone!
I hope you're not bored of my Stampin' Framed yet, because I have another one for you today! This one has a vintage feel to it...

For this one I dug out one of my favourite retired stamps, Elements of Style. When I say retired, I mean retired as a 'real' stamp...it is still available on MDS, for only £2.95! That's the great thing about MDS...nothing retires! I stamped the background by inking up En Francis using a sponge, so I could get a slightly distressed feel to the stamping. I also stamped it off before I stamped it here...that gives a softer print.

I then over stamped the flowers from Elements of Style, in Pool Party ink (after also stamping off first). The little Hummingbird is also stamped in Pool Party, and the sentiment in Soft Suede. I inked all my edges to give an even more distressed, vintage feel, even on the Pool Party mount. I finished with 3 tiny nail art pearls on the sentiment, which I think you can just about see!

As much as I love making these, I really do need to figure out how to photograph them without getting shadows and reflections!

I had a little visit to Ikea this weekend to finish spending the gift card they so kindly gave me after I got stuck in the lift...needless to say, I didn't use the lift! I did get some more frames though, so I should be busy for a while ;)

Anyway, have a lovely Monday and see you tomorrow!

Shabby Chic shopping!

Hello all!
It is my turn to host this month's challenges at CAS - Colours and Sketches, and this week our first challenge is a colour challenge.

I was inspired by my chest of drawers that I rescued and gave a bit of love to!

These colours really make me think of shabby chic so that is what I went for in my project...

I used an old doily from my stash and rubbed it with some Soft Suede. The Soft Sky Core'dinations cardstock was embossed with Pretty Print EF and rubbed with Soft Suede.

I used a matt of Designer Paper from the Neutrals stack and finished with some Soft Sky seam binding.

Supplies
Cardstock - Very Vanilla, Core'dinations
Designer Paper - Neutrals
Embossing - Pretty Print
Ribbon - Sof Sky seam binding

You can buy all these products from my online store by clicking on the link in my sidebar.

I hope you have a lovely day!

A colour and sketch inspired card

Good morning all, especially yet another new follower, Heather!

As my regular followers will know, Saturday mornings are my favourite crafting time as I seem to have such a mojo boost! I think  it's fair to say that my main inspiration on Saturday mornings is Less Is More! And this morning is no exception. Chrissie and Jen have given us a gorgeous inspiration photo to work with!

thankful tones

So I have gone for quite a literal interpretation of the photo...

First of all I created my background using various colours, my Stamp-a-Majig mat and Sponge Daubers. I used the mat for adding colour from my Stampin' Write Markers then picking up the colour with the sponge daubers.
I then used a tree stamp from the Serene Silhouettes stamp set and a sentiment from the lovely Hostess Express Yourself stamp set. I finished with some nail gems from my stash.

I have taken inspiration for the layout of my card from CAS(E) this Sketch this week...

Supplies
Stamps - Serene Silhouettes, Express Yourself
Ink - Soft Suede, Baked Brown Sugar, Basic Gray,

If you would like to order any of the lovely items I have used, or any other products please do contact me for more information and to find out how to earn your own free Hostess stamp sets!

Flower Garden and creative way to make a shape without a framelit!

Morning all!
Not fed up of the heat yet? I certainly am not lol!

So here is another card I made at Jen's on Saturday...

It was my first time playing with this gorgeous new set, Flower Garden. (yesterday's card was the second play lol) I love flowers, and any way to use a stamp and punch combo is always going to be a winner with me!

Isn't it gorgeous? I am particularly loving this colour combo too! The stripe under the panel was done by rolling my Blender Pen onto the Crushed Curry ink pad then swiping it across my card.

Oh, speaking of the panel...have you seen the shape of it? Want to know how to create it without a die?? Simple really...I cut my panel out, then I placed the rounded edge of one of my ink pads along the edge of it, drew round it then snipped it using my super sharp Paper Snips! I finished it by using my distressing tool.

Supplies
Stamps - Flower Garden, Fabulous Phrases
Ink - Basic Gray, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Crushed Curry
Tools - Blender Pen, Paper Snips, Stamp-a-majig, Distressing Tool

If you would like to order any of the products I have used, or any of the other fabulous new products, please do contact me and I will be very happy to place your order for you.

Please click on the catalogue link on my sidebar to browse the yummy new catalogue, or for £4.95 inc. p&p I can send you your very own copy to drool over and write your wishlist in!

Challenges

I have the day off today, but it's not going to be a relaxing one lol! I have the school run, a doctor's appointment, have to get a parcel to the courier's, gym, shopping, school run, swimming....it'll all get done eventually! I hope your day is slightly less hectic!

Less Is More - Sand

Good morning LIMettes!
How are you? I have had such a busy week this week, with various things going on...I'll be glad to slow down....eventually!

So when I woke up this morning I did my usual thing and grabbed my phone to check out this week's challenge at Less Is More before I got out of bed!

SAND

Hmmmm....I will be honest and say that it didn't really rock my boat! Or did it? ;) Here is what I came up with...

I was going to be obvious and use Sahara Sand ink or card, as that was the first thing that popped into my head, but when I got it out it didn't look all that 'sandy' to me! So I went for a beachy theme and used Crumb Cake card as it looked a bit more realistic. I stamped the the boat in Soft Suede onto vellum.

The other colours are Bashful Blue and Baja Breeze, both retiring this weekend along with the fab Need For Speed stamp set :(

Supplies
Cardstock - Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze, Bashful Blue
Stamps - Need For Speed, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Ink - Soft Suede

If you would like to find out more about the gorgeous Stampin' Up! products, or to order any, please do contact me and I will be happy to help!
I also hold Stampin' Up! parties and workshops, so if you would like to find out more, please don't hesitate to get in touch!

There are only 2 days left to order your retiring items so

please don't forget to place your order before it is too late!

While you're here, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for following me over the last few years. As you know, Google Reader is gone after this weekend, and I would hate to see you all disappear, so please can I ask you to start following me on Bloglovin'?

That way I can still keep up with you all too! It's really easy to set up...just sign up for an account, then click 'Import Blogs' and it will transfer all your blogs from Google Reader... simple! :)

I hope you like my card. I have to take Keiran to a birthday party today, plus dog walking and I promised a dvd night too. I hope you have a lovely Saturday! :)

You're how old??

Good morning LIMettes!
I hope you've had a good week?
I've had a very busy one, but I have a week off after tomorrow, which I am very much looking forward to! We are going to Edinburgh and I can't wait!

Anyway, this week Chrissie and Jen have come up with the theme of...

Now I don't really have a lot in the way of humorous stamps so I decided to use one of my cute Dinoroars and a computer printed sentiment...

I paper pierced the top and bottom for some added texture.

I think the sentiment is quite fun!

Supplies
Cardstock - Very Vanilla, Baja Breeze
Stamp - Dinoroar
Ink - Soft Suede, Old Olive

I had quite a late night last night as Jen and I were at Keiran's school having a craft evening with some of the ladies from church making cards to sell at the summer fair. We had a lovely night using all sorts of Stampin' Up! goodies, plus some old craft stash of ours...it was very enjoyable and I think we will be doing it again for sure! Here are a couple of photos...

Crafters hard at work...

The fruits of our labour...

All in all, we made 61 cards in 2 and a half hours! I wish I could manage that at home lol!

So, that said, I'm going back to bed for a bit as I have no son, no work and no market today!

See you later!
