Blendabilities!!

Hello!
I'm here with my DT card for Sketch Saturday for this week...yes, I know, I'm late! But it's still Saturday at least!

So here is this week's sketch, designed by Niki...

I have been playing with Stampin' Up!'s brand new Blendabilities and I have to say that I am rather liking them!!

I have used pretty much all of them to colour this stamp from In This Together, (well I wanted to try them all!!), but I have combined them with Stampin' Write Markers and Blender Pen for the colours that are not available in Blendies. (See...I even have a nickname for them!)

I used Rich Razzleberry DSP, Coastal Cabana Core'dinations, and some Ruffle Stretch Ribbon for the background. Can you see how well the ink matches the paper and ribbon? That is one of the things I love about Stampin' Up!...there is no longer any guess work to match up papers with coloured images!

So what are you going to make? We're looking forward to seeing your creations!

Keiran and I are running our local Race for Life tomorrow...it's Keiran's first time and he's looking forward to it! If you would like to sponsor us, you can do via Just Giving on the link below...

Thank you for your support! :)
Goodnight!

New Home anyone?

Hello!
Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? I'm working for most of it, just when the weather looks to be picking up and I could spend some time in the garden!

My brother and sister-in-law are moving today...yup the ones who just had a baby 9 days ago! Crazy isn't the word! Anyway, I made them a card to welcome them to their new home, so I am going to show it you today. I wanted to show you the new baby card I made for them but I wanted to make sure they got it first!

For this one I have used a Bermuda Bay card blank and then basically cut out a square from Retro Fresh DSP and punched out a little heart, then layered it onto Bermuda Bay using Dimensionals for a little height.

I used Baked Brown Sugar Core'Dinations for the roof and drew the white lines using the Stampin' Chalk Marker pen, just for a little interest! The sentiment is from the Pomp and Circumstance stamp set, and is stamped in BBS. (and is the only stamping on the card!)

Don't forget about this week's weekly deals...you can find them here if you have missed them, or more information about them here. Or you can click on the picture in my sidebar, any time, to go direct to my page of deals!

Right...it's football shirt Friday today so I'm off to pop my Huddersfield shirt on...it's nice to have the opportunity to where my colours at work!

Beautiful Wings!

Hi lovely crafty peeps!
I have another thank you card to show you today...I seem to need to make them almost every day...not that I'm complaining...it's wonderful to have something to be thankful for!

This is also another card using up bits on my desk...yes I have LOTS of bits on my desk! (they are getting less now though!)

So what have I used? Beautiful Wings Embosslits, Bird Builder Punch, Morning Meadow and Woodgrain Background stamp. I used Core'Dinations cardstock for my branches and butterflies to give a little texture.

I have some Stampin' Up! news for you!
As from next Wednesday 9th April, and each wednesday in April, there will be 'Weekly Offers' available! I have no idea what they are going to be, but keep your eyes on this space...I will update you as soon as I know what they are!

I became an auntie for the second time on Wednesday...here is a picture of precious little Evie!

She weighed 6lb 6oz and was born very quickly and easily! Her Mum went into hospital...an hour later Evie was born and 5hrs later they went home! Congratulations to my very happy brother and sister-in-law!

Pink and Pear

Hello!
It's time for a new challenge at CAS - Colours and Sketches and this week is this lovely soft colour combo...

Isn't it pretty? I decided to make a sympathy card as I am, sadly, short of them.

I have also made this card using up more scraps from on my desk...the branch and leaves, butterflies and even the aperture cut panel were just laying there...I'm finally getting through them!

The branch and the leaves are from the Bird Builder Punch and I've used the Petite Petals bundle and Beautiful Wings Embosslits. The sentiment is from Petite Pairs and I finished with Candy Dots (see, I'm even using them!)

A vintage engagement

Hello!
A friend of mine saw a stunning card (not mine) that I pinned on Pinterest a couple of weeks ago, and fell in love with it. She asked me to make one for her friend's engagement, so I decided to case it. You can see the original card here. Sadly I don't have a link to the original page.

So here is my take on that beauty...

I started by embossing the bottom half of a piece of Very Vanilla Core'Dinations using the sadly retired Pretty Print embossing folder. (hard to see in the photo but it's there!) I then stamped En Francais in Night Of Navy onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock before die cutting with the Delicate Doilies Sizzlits and inking the edges.

The hearts were cut using Hearts Collection Framelits which I then scrunched before attaching to the doilies using an Antique Brad. I stamped Flowering Flourishes, added Linen Thread and my doily/heart topper. Oh I forgot to say, I distressed the edges of the Very Vanilla too.

As the card was a commission I added the personalisation by printing the sentiment from my lappy and punching using the Decorative Label.

Hardwood and Backyard Basics

Hello everyone!
I can't believe another week has gone by already since our last challenge at CAS - Colours and Sketches! This week it's a sketch challenge...

It's a simple sketch, perfect for CAS cards...remember that we are a CAS challenge, so please do keep your cards as CAS as possible!

Anyway, here is my card...

I stamped the new Hardwood Background stamp in Smoky Slate, and added a banner of embossed and sanded Daffodil Delight Core'Dinations card.

The Iris, from the Backyard Basics set, was stamped in black Stazon then coloured with Wisteria Wonder and Daffodil Delight, and blended using Aqua Painters. I die cut it out using the matching dies. I do love Irises...they have a real spring feel don't they?
