Gardening with Dad!

Good morning all!
The sun is shining, it's Friday, and it's nearly the weekend...time for some gardening?

I am having a stall at a couple of craft fairs this month so I have decided to make a few small, inexpensive gifts that children can buy for their Dads, and here is one of them...

This little bag has affectionately become known as the 'Hallett Bag', named after the lovely lady, Caroline, who created a brilliant video on how to make it, which you can find here.

The measurements are below...
DSP - 3.5in x 12in
Base - 2.5in x 5.25in, scored at 1/2 inch all the way round.
Handles - 1/2in x 8in
Top and bottom strips - 12in x 1/2in

I filled mine with a few little gardening goodies...seeds, little pots and plant markers.

The tag is made using the Scallop Tag Topper Punch and is stamped with 'Happy' from Celebrate Today and 'Father's Day' from Crazy About You.

Aren't they cute?? I hope to make a few more of these...they only take a few minutes each and I really love how they look!

I hope you have a lovely sunny Friday!

Cute gift bag

Good morning!
I am so pleased to welcome another new follower...Linda Parker! We have been inc contact on Facebook for a while now so it's lovely to have you here hun!

Today I have something different for you...a little video tutorial!

I have been looking for different things to make for my stall when I do craft fairs and 3D items seem to be popular, so I have made little gift bags using Designer Series Paper. They are pretty simple and fairly quick to make, and can be made in lots of different sizes.

This one is made using a piece of 6in x 12in DSP so you can get 2 out of one sheet, making it pretty economical.

I used Natural Composition Speciality Designer Series Paper for these and it's really quite strong!

I decorated with a flower from Flower Shop and punched using the Pansy Punch. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments, stamped in Coastal Cabana and punched with the word window. The rest of the embellishments are listed below.

So as promised, here is a little video tutorial for this gift bag. I apologise in advance for the slight waffling...it's been a while since I made a video!

I hope you enjoy it, and please do let me know what you think!

See you tomorrow!

Gift Packaging

Good morning!
Did you have a good weekend? Did you get some of the sun? We did yesterday, and it was the first real feel of spring...lovely! :)

Today I have a gift bag I would like to share with you. I had a request to make one, so this is a prototype, and we are looking at making some for our church fete this summer to use as secret tombola prizes instead of the usual 'rubbish'.

This is made from one 12x12in sheet of Designer Series Paper, with no waste at all! The top is created with the Scalloped Tag Topper punch.

I used the Chalk Talk bundle to create the tag, which I stamped with Gold Encore and Midnight Muse. I finished with a button and some Island Indigo Bakers Twine.

If you would like details on how to make this, I did you a little video! Yup...I am nice to you!

I hope this tutorial was useful. Sorry about the misplacement of the tape at one point!

A little gift

Good morning!
I didn't get any crafting done this weekend due to the fact that I was working and just generally didn't feel like doing much! So today I'm going to show you a gift I made for my friend for her birthday back in December.

This lovely little package has three sparkly nail varnishes in it and the little one has a pretty silver necklace in. You can find a tutorial for the smaller box here on my video tutorial page.

I don't have measurements for the nail varnish package I'm afraid as I made it so long ago, but you might find them on Paula's blog as the idea came from a lovely gift she gave me at convention last year.

You could use any DSP for this project to make it perfect for any occasion. The acetate is part of this lovely paper stack...
It's called Quatrefancy and you can buy it direct from my online store by clicking on the picture.

Thanks for coming to say hi today...hopefully I will get chance to craft tonight so I have something new to show you tomorrow!
