Leftovers for Dad!

Hello everyone!
As I type this I am all set for my Friday craft class, and I have another new lady to welcome to it! I can't wait!

This is one of the cards we made last night, using up a couple of leftover stars from the card I blogged on Thursday, which was also one of our class cards.

Can you spot the leftovers? Yup, the stars! I have a horrible habit of leaving useful bits on my desk with the intention of using them, then never get round to it, so I am trying to stop that by using them straight away! The stars were die cut using Stars Framelits and were added to the panel after I wrapped a piece of Chevron Ribbon around it.

The sentiment is another 'half/half'...the 'Happy' is from Celebrate today, and I created the banner by stamping onto a strip on card, then punching one end with the Bitty Banner punch, and the 'Father's Day' is from Crazy About You. Both are stamped in Chocolate Chip and I finished with a Choc Chip Candy Dot.

I am quite pleased how well I am getting on with my Father's Day bits...I have some notebooks to share later this week too!

Have a lovely Saturday, and I may be back tomorrow with the last of the 3 cards we made last night in class.

Going Green!

Good afternoon!
Today it's time for our new challenge at CAS-Colours and Sketches, and it's Louise's turn to host this month. For her first challenge she has gone all green!

I didn't think I would enjoy using just green (it's not my favourite colour to be honest!) but actually, I found it rather easy to do! As it was only one colour, I just got all my green accessories out, with the inks and paper and played! I rather like my effort...what do you think...

I started by stamping just the widely spaced parts of the sprinkle balloon from Celebrate Today in Pear Pizzazz, then added some retired Washi Tape, some Pear Pizzaz Chevron Ribbon and a strip of Garden Green spotty DSP that I punched first with the Hearts Border Punch.

I then added some Linen Thread and a butterfly stamped from Kinda Eclectic and punched with the Bitty Butterfly Punch. I finished with a large Basics Pearl.

I deliberately left in sentiment free as I think this little card would be suitable for lots of occasions. Oh I should say that this card is really little at only 7.5cm x 10cm...super cute!

We're looking forward to seeing your creations!

Make today ridiculously amazing!

Hi all!
Did you have a nice St. Patrick's day? I made a yummy Steak and Guinness pie (with homemade pastry!) and Colcannon, and washed it down with a pint of Guinness...it was yummy!

So today I have the second card that we made at my craft class to show you, using the Amazing Birthday stamp set...

I chose brighter colours than we used for yesterday's card, but still kept it quite 'manly'. The card base is Crushed Curry, which we embossed with the Arrows Embossing Folder, and we used Lost Lagoon and Smoky Slate for the complimentary colours.

Again, we inked up the stamp with Stampin' Write Markers before stamping onto our Whisper White card, then stamped an extra 'amazing' which we cut out and popped up on Dimensionals. Black Chevron Ribbon and a Smoky Slate button finish the card nicely!

If you'd like to join us at a craft class, please do get in touch...we'd love to welcome you to our group! :)

Have a fab Wednesday and make sure you pop back to see my CAS DT card tomorrow!

Sweet Baby

Good morning!
It's our new challenge at CAS-Colours and Sketches this week, and it's a sketch...

Isn't it a fabby sketch? I decided to add to my stock of new baby cards....

I used my favourite baby set, Sweetest Gift. I stamped the sentiment onto the Vellum Cardstock in Baked Brown Sugar, and coloured the letters to match the lovely Lullaby DSP.

I added the circle sentiment which I heat embossed in Clear Stampin' Emboss after I cut it out, to give it a little shine. The Pumpkin Pie Chevron Ribbon and pearls gave a lovely finishing touch, don't you think??

What will you make for your entry? Remember to keep it CAS and follow the sketch...we can't wait to see! :)

Cool Kid...or man!

Hello Sketch fans!
I'm here with my DT card for Sketch Saturday. Here is the fabby sketch...

And here is my card...

I decided to add a 'man card' to my stash...I never seem to have enough! This cute little stamp is from the retired set; Cool Kid. I stamped him in Baked Brown Sugar, and layered him onto a Cherry Cobbler panel.

I stamped the sentiment, from Remembering Your Birthday, onto the Wooden Element, also in Baked Brown Sugar...doesn't it look fab?! I used Cherry Cobbler Chevron Ribbon for my stripe element.

We're looking forward to seeing your entries!
Have a lovely Saturday!

Brrrrummy Birthday!

Good morning!
It is time for our latest challenge at CAS-Colours and Sketches, and this week, as it's the 5th week, it's the double! Yup! A colour combo and a sketch!
So here is Jacqueline's challenge for you...
I was initially a little stuck with the sketch, but then in a flash of inspiration I came up with this...

I have used a retired stamp for the dune buggy, but the rest of the products are current. I stamped the chevrons from Work Of Art, in Chocolate Chip, onto a couple of Essentials Wooden Elements...don't you think they look like tyre tracks?

The sentiment is from Remembering Your Birthday, and I attached the ribbon with staples.

So after an initial struggle, I am quite pleased with my card!

We're looking forward to seeing your cards this week...go on...push yourself out of your comfort zone!

Happy Birthday Shelli!!

Good morning Sketchy fans!
It's time for our new challenge at Sketch Saturday, and this week Debra has designed our sketch...

As this post goes live, I shall be at the Stampin' Up! Convention in Brussels! It is Stampin' Up! founder Shelli's birthday this week so we were asked to design a card for her if we wanted to, and, all being well, they were all presented to her yesterday!

So here is the card I made...

I started off with some DSP from the Back To Black paper stack and once I decided to use this sentiment from Feel Goods, I thought Daffodil Delight would brighten the card and give a lovely contrast.

I inked the stamp with Stampin' Write Markers so that I could highlight the word 'sunshine' in Daffodil Delight. I finished with some Basic Black Chevron Ribbon, Daffodil Delight Seam Binding, a stamped and punched flower from Petite Petals and a Rhinestone coloured with a black marker pen.

I chose this particular sentiment as, thanks to Shelli and Stampin' Up!, there are a lot of happy Demos and customers out there, and Shelli is one shining example of positivity!

Happy Birthday Shelli!

Have a lovely weekend and hopefully I will be back with convention news on Monday!

Brrrrruuuuummm!!!!

Hello everyone!
Monday was my lovely fella Mike's Birthday, so obviously, I had to make him a card! He loves motorbikes, and even has one...no idea what make it is but it's red. So guess what I put on his card??

It had to be a red bike right?! I got this wonderful image from MDS, resized it to the size I needed and printed. I then coloured it using my Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities.

I stamped the sentiment from Remembering Your Birthday, which I coloured using Cherry Cobbler and Basic Black Stampin' Write Markers. I alternated the colours mainly because I couldn't decide what colour to do it! I threaded Black Chevron ribbon through the sentiment panel.

I actually didn't leave this card to the last minute to make, for a change! In fact, I almost had a moment where Mike saw it on my desk a few days before...ooops!

I'm linking my card up to the challenge at SU-per Challenges this week...

Keiran also wanted to make a card, and when he does I let him loose on my old stash of retired SU and non-SU stamps. This is what he made...

Didn't he do a great job?? It is entirely his own design and he stamped it all himself!

I'm off to the gym now...working on next year's bikini body lol!

MDS meets Papillon Potpourri

Good morning!
I would like to give a big hello to my newest follower, Sid! Thank you for joining me on my crafty journey!

I have a lovely day planned today...I am working til 2pm then I have my friend Laura's wedding to go to, and I even have a plus one! ;)

But before all that, it's time for our new sketch at Sketch Saturday, and this week it has been designed by Laura...

So I used this sketch to make another commission card...

I also used my 'go to' girly papers from Twitterpated (available on MDS), and butterflies from Papillon Potpourri.

I printed the sentiment in MDS and embossed the panel with the Beautiful Baroque EF. I finished with die cut numbers from a retired die.

Right...off to work now...have a wonderful Saturday!

Gorgeous Happy Day

Hello my lovelies!
How are you today? I was in a very crafty mood yesterday, so I have lots of cards ready to show you over the weekend!

This is my DT card for our new challenge at CAS - Colours and Sketches. In fact, I am the host this month so I hope you're ready for seriously inspiring colour combos and sketches??

First, let me show you this week's colour combo...

So my card...

I decided to use another potentially retiring stamp set...no, don't panic! It's not Gorgeous Grunge! It's the Happy Day set with fabulous large sentiments and this beautiful medallion. I stamped mine twice, once in Bermuda Bay and once in Daffodil Delight. I then cut the full BB medallion and just the centre part of the DD one, then popped them up on Dimensionals.

The ribbon is Smoky Slate Chevron and I finished with a BB Candy Dot. The layout is inspired by the challenge at Atlantic Hearts this week...

Have a lovely Wednesday!

Bermuda Clockworks

Hiya peeps!
Do you have stamps in your stash that you haven't used yet? Go on, admit it, you know you have! Well I have a card here using one such set...

This is the fabby Clockworks set that I bought kind of on a whim, and up until now I couldn't figure out how to use it!

The background Bermuda Bay panel is embossed using the Houndstooth Embossing Folder. The DSP is High Tide from the Spring/Summer catalogue.

Keiran gave me his view on this card...'I like the design of the card but I don't like the compass because it's not got any colour' Oh well, can't please everyone!
