Masking...2nd and MUCH better attempt!

Hello again!
Ok it's not often that I post a Less Is More card twice on a Saturday morning, but I wasn't too sure about my first entry for this week's Masking challenge, and wanted another go! I got the idea of masking a shape from Jan's entry so thought I'd try it.

Not the greatest pictures...dunno why...but you get the idea. I stamped the Clear Choice stork onto my card blank in London Fog, then onto scrap paper and cut out. I attached that over the original stamped image. I cut a heart shape out of scrap paper, and place the negative over the image. I used a baby wipe (appropriate don't you think?!) and dotted Versacolour Sky Blue inside the heart, over the image mask. The sentiment is the same inks and the ribbon is from my stash. Much happier!
Now to get ready for a crafty day at Jen's! :)

Masking...hmmmm....

Good morning all!
Well I was hoping for a slightly easier challenge over at Less Is More this morning, after the 'script' challenge last week...but nope! This week it's
MASKING
And I have never really done any! But here is my attempt, nonetheless!
Quite simply, I masked off stripes and dotted with ink pads! Versacolour Sky Blue, Imperial Blue, Lilac and Chateau Gray, and the Dovecraft sentiment is stamped in Lilac, then shadow stamped in Memento London Fog.
I may try make something a little more adventurous later in the week :)

Aqua Butterflies!

Good morning!
Here is another card for the Less is More Challenge - Aqua...can you tell I'm loving it?! ;)

The stamps are my new Wild Rose Studio freebies, and I used Seafoam Versacolour, and Tempting Turquoise, Pool Party and Island Indigo SU markers for the butterflies and Tempting Turquoise for the sentiment. I cut the wings of the large butterfly to give it dimension and also to make it 'pop' as the Seafoam just looked far too pale! The pearls are just from my stash.

I am also entering this into
Flutterby Wednesdays - Open

Hope everyone is having a great Monday! :)

Wishing you Happiness

Good evening all!
And it is actually a lovely evening too! I have had a lovely afternoon with my Mum and Dad, digging up all the potatoes from the garden and picking plums from next door's tree (Maria said we could!). We also picked our 1 large runner bean and had that for tea with the potatoes and plums....mmmm yum! :)

Anyway, I have made this card for the Less Is More One Layer - Use Ink (in a different way) challenge this week. I made the same card a few weeks ago and it was featured in CM&P mag as I won the stamps from their Friday challenge on Facebook. I decided to make it again, as I sold the original at the market on Saturday!

The stamps are Hippie Girl from Kaisercraft and the big butterflly is from cArt-us.com. I simply inked the stamp with various Versacolour inks and stamped it. It was a little tricky to make sure the right bits got the right colours but it worked in the end! A little tip-after I had ink the whole stamp, I breathed 'huh' onto the ink which revitalised it so it would stamp.
Hope you like! I don't often make the same card twice but I really like how this one came out! :)
Have a nice evening!

Use Ink!

Good morning on this (yet again) dull Saturday in August!
At least we have the Less Is More challenge to get us up and raring to go eh LIMettes?! Speaking of which, here is the card I have quickly made before I go out for the day to York, with my new man, Pete! The challenge this week is One Layer Card - Use Ink! Now I don't know too many techniques but it was really nice to colour this in with ink pads rather than the usual Promarkers!
The picture above shows how I used a tile to dab the ink onto so I could use water and a paintbrush to apply them to my card.
And this is the finished result! The stamp is a freebie from Simply Homemade a few issues ago, and it's the first time it's been inked!
Hope you like it! Have a fab Saturday all! :)

Flowers & Flutterbys (CES challenge)

Here is my first ever entry into the CES Friday challenge. The theme for this week is 'Flowers & Flutterbys' and I felt like doing something a little different from my usual. No papers, no colouring in, no ribbon, no pre-made flowers, no glitter....doesn't leave alot you'd think? Well actually I was surprised that by missing all the things that I generally live by out, I ended up creating a pretty, simple but very effective card and I love it!

Ok so how I made it...The stamps are from the Kanban Autumn Silhouettes set, and I just randomly stamped 2 of them in the bottom left corner to create a 'climbing ivy' kind of effect, with Versacolour Khaki. A little tip-practice on a piece of square paper before stamping straight onto the card. I stamped the greeting (from the free mini stamps picked up at The Range with the voucher in Docrafts mag last month) directly onto the card in Versacolour Peony, but to be honest, it didn't match and it looked too flat. So I re-stamped it in Khaki, cut it out and attached it with silicone glue...you can still just see the Peony underneath, which is just the right effect!
The flowers are also stamped from the same set, with the same colours, and then cut out, shaped and layered. The butterflies are cut out of Shrink Plastic with the very popular Tonic punch. I use it (and see it used) all the time and I wanted to try a different way of using it. I dabbed the Peony inkpad over each butterfly before using my heat gun to shrink them to size. I shaped the wings up before they cooled to give the effect of flight.
I finished with Anita's gems in the middle of each flower and on the sentiment.

I know this was long winded, so if you read it, thank you! If not, I don't blame you but thanks for looking anyway! :D
