A Timeless Birthday

Hi again!
See, told you I'd be back tonight! And, as promised, here is a little card using some of the new stuff from the Spring/Summer catalogue...

This very simple, elegant card is made using Tempting Turquoise card stock and I stamped the matted layer with the flourish from the gorgeously grungy Timeless Textures, also in Turquoise.

I then added some of the lush Watermelon Wonder Stitched Satin Ribbon across the panel and added my stamped and die cut numbers from the Number of Years bundle. These are awesome big numbers...just what I have been waiting for!

So what did I use today?

Pinkies Spring/Summer Blog Hop

Thank you for joining us on another Pinkies Blog Hop! We're showcasing lots of gorgeous projects using products from the new Stampin' Up!® Spring/Summer Catalogue. Simply use the buttons at the end of each post to keep hopping!

I have decided to use the first stamp set and die bundle that popped out at me when I first set eyes on the new Spring/Summer catalogue!

Isn't this heart just gorgeous?? I fell in love straight away, but I didn't want to use it as a Valentine, so I decided it would be perfect for Mother's Day! The bundle is The Bloomin' Love Stamp set and the Bloomin' Heart Thinlit die. I attached the heart using only the middle bit so it left plenty of dimension. The tiny leaves from the set are stamped in Pear Pizzazz, and used Tempting Turquoise and Daffodil Delight for the extra flowers, finishing with matching Candy Dots.

Do you see the gorgeous shimmer on some of the flowers? That was done using our brand new Clear Wink Of Stella pens... I. love. them! They are available in Gold too...eek!
I created the sentiment using the 'happy' from Endless Birthday Wishes and Crazy About You.

There are lots of other gorgeous stamps, papers, dies and embellishments in this new Spring/Summer catalogue, so why don't you pop on over to Nicole's blog and see what gorgeous project she has created!

I hope you enjoy the hop and hope to see you again soon!

Happy Turquoise birthday!

Hello all!
Have you had a nice weekend? I had a lovely time in Durham with Mike...we stayed in a beautiful place called The Old Mill at Knitsley. The owner, Pauline, and her daughter couldn't do enough for us and the food was outstanding! I would totally recommend it! Here are a few pictures of the lovely inn, in it's lovely setting...

Ok, so on to today's crafty offering, for which I used the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch as my inspiration...

And here is my card...

I first of all die cut 'happy' out of Tempting Turquoise (a colour I often overlook!) and then out of the top of the white panel, leaving only half of the negative. I sponged the bottom of the top panel with Tempting Turquoise ink, then added some splodges of ink using a sponge dauber.

I inlaid the turquoise word into the negative space, stamped 'Birthday' from the Crazy About You stamp set and finished with a Silver Mini Brad.

The Crazy About You stamp set and dies are available as a bundle at 15% off if you buy together...what a brilliant deal, don't you think?!

Have a lovely Wednesday and I'll see you tomorrow with my DT card for CAS-Colours and Sketches!

Charming Birthday

Hi everyone!
I have a very quick card for you today, using something I don't use a lot...Designer Series Paper! I don't know why I don't; maybe I love it too much and don't want to use it up!

I also used a charm from my stash, as the card was for Keiran's Auntie, and she adores cats! I tied it on using Island Indigo Bakers Twine.

The DSP is Tempting Turquoise, from the Brights collection, and I added a sentiment from Express Yourself (retiring), and is punched out using the Decorative Label punch.
I used the sketch at Clean & Simple for my inspiration.

Here is what I used...

I had a bit of time in the garden again yesterday, digging over a neglected patch, ready to plant some courgettes and pumpkins. I'm worried I'm a bit late to be honest, but you never know!

I shall be back tomorrow, hopefully (if I don't get carried away in the garden!)

Colours of my bedroom for Less Is More!

Hi everyone, especially my new follower, Crazy Bird! It's lovely to have you here, thank you! :)

How is your weekend going so far? I didn't blog yesterday as by the time my paper craft class had finished, it was a bit late! I will show you what we made tomorrow :)

Today, I have a super quick card which is my entry into the challenge at Less Is More. It has been ages since I entered (at least 2 weeks!) This week is a colour challenge and the them is

Colours of your bedroom

My bedroom is mostly white, but my bedding is a lovely pink and turquoise, so I went with that for my inspiration.

I used two of my favourite stamp sets; Gorgeous Grunge and Petite Petals. I really do love them and they work so well together!

I used the 'random' stamping technique to create the background, using Tempting Turquoise and Melon Mambo, then stamped and punched the flowers. I finished with a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Sentiments and some bling.

Boho Birthday for CAS-Colours and Sketches #77

Well hello!
It is a new week over at CAS-Colours and Sketches and this month's host is Karen, and for our first challenge of the month she has picked a really gorgeous colour combo!

Isn't it a beautiful, clean combination?

So here is what I came up with...

As they are such fresh, clean colours, I went for a fresh, clean style of card. I used an old sentiment, and decorated it with flowers from Boho Blossoms, punched out of Wild Wasabi Core'dinations card, screwed up, then sanded. I like the textured effect it gives them, don't you? I then added a pearl and Candy Dots.

I sponged the Tea Lace Paper Doily using Tempting Turquoise ink, added some Daffodil Delight Stitched Grosgrain ribbon and Whisper White Bakers Twine. I CASEd the layout from the back of the Stampin' Up! Demo magazine, 'Impressions'.

Here is what I used...
I spent yesterday making thank you cards and packaging up little gifts for my customers and Stampers 6 ladies...that is part of what I love about being a demo....sending my lovely customers a little something to say thank you for shopping with me! Another thing I love is that I get to play with gorgeous goodies and get 20% too!

There is currently a brilliant offer where you can join Stampin' Up! for only £50!! It is a wonderful opportunity and so much fun! I can't remember what life was like before SU!

If you would like to know more about my story and how I got started as a Demo, see my blog post here...

Right, now I get to go to my 'day job'...hope you have a lovely day! :)

Reminder - Frugal Friday #2

Hi everyone!
I thought that today I would give you a little reminder of my Frugal Friday challenge. I have a new photo of scraps to show you...

See the little birdie? Well that is where I started. I must admit, I have never used this punch for the bird, just the branch! I have tried a couple of times but never got anywhere with it...this one was originally made for a frame but I decided not to use it after all.

I coloured the bird with Sponge Daubers and Tempting Turquoise and Soft Suede inks.

The background paper is from the Brights DSP collection and the sentiment is from Sweet Essentials, stamped in Smoky Slate and punched using the Modern Label punch.
