Less Is More - OLC - Music

Good morning LIMettes!
I know...I'm late this morning, and not a Stampin Up! card either! That's because I have nothing musical in my SU! collection so I'm trying to think up something clever! And I'm late because I have Keiran this weekend and we had a snuggly lie in this morning :)

So this week it's the One Layer week, and the theme is

MUSIC

I have used a stamp I was given to make a couple of cards with last year and I haven't used it since!

The stamp is Illuminata by Inkadinkado and I stamped it in Antique Linen Distress Ink.

The sentiment is by Personal Impressions.

I seem to have been making an awful lot of Thank You cards lately...I really don't know why!

Anyway, I'm taking Keiran to a pancake party at church now so have a lovely Saturday all! :)

Swinging Birthday Boy!

Hello!
How's the snow where you are? It's melting quite quickly here...our snowman has lost his head already!

Anyway, looking to sunnier times and chance for little boys to play out, here is a quick card I made using up one of my previously coloured images...

This cute little man is from Lili Of The Valley and I coloured him with Promarkers, and chalked in the background.

I distressed the edges of the Dovecraft Sugar and Spice DP with some sandpaper, and the edges of the image and the embossed panel with my distressing tool. The embossed panel is from the Sale-A-Bration freebies from Stampin' Up! You can place your orders through me here. The sentiment is from Personal Impressions.

Thanks so much for popping by tonight! :)

So here is one of my cards for now...

The requirements were newspapers and crosswords...ard to make into a female card! Hope the flowers do the trick. The images are from Google and the flowers are from Wild Orchid. I distressed the edges with Tattered Rose Distress Ink. The background paper was some freebie from my stash, as is the lace.

A special 95th Birthday

Good evening!
First of all...a warm welcome to my newest follower, Traci...she sure does love her Cricut!

Well, I am hoping this is the first of many cards this week...I need a productive week as I have a lot of markets/stalls coming up!

I have made this one for one of our very dear customers at my bookie shop.

The papers are Soft Nostalgia by Hot Off The Press. The flower was made with the same papers using Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die, the leaves are Sizzix from Stampin' Up! and the ribbon is from my stash. I used nesties for the computer generated sentiment and the matt, and I used Antique Linen and Barn Door Distress Inks.

Thanks for popping by, goodnight!

Less Is More - Colour Challenge

Good afternoon!
Ooooh I'm late with my Less Is More card this week...I made it, along with a few others, at Jen's last night, but forgot to bring them home so Jen has kindly sent me some photos so I can still blog them! Ta hun!
So here is my
BROWN & PINK
card for this week's challenge :)
The flower is a Tim Holtz Tattered Flowers in pink shimmery card, which I sprayed with water and scrunched to create some texture. I edged the flowers with a pink pen. I finished my flower with a brown glittery brad and mounted it onto an embossed piece of brown shimmery card.
Ta for popping by....hopefully more next week! :)

Good Luck in Peru!

Good evening!
We have had a wonderful day at Knowsley Safari park! Apart from Keiran falling and having to go to hospital, bless him! He banged his head really hard falling up some steps and had to go to the hospital to get checked out. Luckily, he's absolutely fine, and the staff at Knowsley were fantastic, as were the paramedics and hospital staff! We got given free tickets to go back again, too, and they've even said that Keiran can meet one of the sealions next time, as he missed out on seeing the show! How fab is that?!

Anyway, time for a card. I got a text late Saturday night for an emergency commission for 4 good luck cards for 4 ladies who are heading off to Peru to do the Inca Trail for a local children's charity. So here's what I came up with in a hurry yesterday...

I remembered that Paddington Bear is from Peru so I thought he would be the perfect good luck charm for the intrepid ladies! So I 'Googled' Paddington colouring pages and found this adorable image of our beloved bear on a hike...how perfect! I coloured him with Promarkers and cut him out. I created a cloud and grass background, added a tiny Peruvian flag to half a cocktail stick, a sentiment and some gems and voila!

Challenges

Right...another rush order to make now, then bed I think! :)

Distressed Beethoven!

Good morning!
I had another commission birthday card to make today, this time for a Brother's 70th Birthday. The request was for classical music or golf!
So I went with the classical music, especially as the lady in question kindly gave me this Inkadinkado 'Illuminata' wooden stamp, saying she doesn't really make cards so doesn't need the stamp!

Isn't it a fab stamp?!
I stamped the image using Vintage photo Distress Ink, and all the distressing is using the same ink. The 'dp' is just a Google image (I Googled 'Beethoven Music Script'). The sentiment and age were done on my pc, and distressed, and I finished with baker's twine. I also distressed the inside of the card and added the bit of music script I didn't use on the front.

Challenges

Ta for looking...see you soon! :)

2nd Anniversary Commission card

Good evening everyone :)
Well hasn't it been a glorious few days?! Unfortunately, it's about to end...just as well I managed to get everything done in the garden! So I will have a little more time to craft next week, I hope!

Anyway, I got another commission for an anniversary card and here it is...

The paper in the background is Pink Petticoat, the sentiment is computer printed and the stamped flowers are Stampin Up! from the recent wedding collection. I embossed them with WOW Amber Rose EP for a bit of colour. The ribbon and pearls are from my stash. I also embossed the middle panel with a hearts embossing folder and I distressed the edges of each panel with my new Tim Holz distressing tool! :)

I have used alot of inspiration from this week's challenge at Less is More, which is to combine 3 of their previous challenge on one card. So I chose
Week 1 - Pink, Black & White (I hadn't found the blog yet so never entered this challenge!)
Week 2 - Flower or tree
Week 15 - Embossing (both heat and dry this time)
Week 58 - Script

Other Challenges

Right, off to bed...see you all soon! :)

More Neutral for Less Is More

Hello again!
This is the other card I made this evening, for the Neutrals challenge over at Less Is More

Jen re-ignited my desire to have a proper go at distressing when we were at Leigh yesterday, so I had a go today! I have used Tim Holtz Vintage Photo and Tattered Rose Distress Inks, the Stampin' Up! Posy Punch stamp, and Indinkado swirl and that's about it! I haven't added a sentiment as I couldn't decide what to put!
Hope you like it...gonna try some more this week if I get time! :)

Ooh La La - Challenge #100! On The Move

Good evening everyone!
Well for the first time ever, I was late submitting a DT card :( Slap my hand...it will never happen again! No excuses, but I had such a hectic weekend, and was going to do it last night but I was so shattered I couldn't find a creative dribble anywhere in me!
So without further ado, here is the said card, for our challenge over at Ooh La La this week, where our theme is
ON THE MOVE

The image and papers are from the Boys To Men CD, the poinsettia is a Marianne die (I think) and I distressed the edges of the papers and the image with Vintage Photo and Stormy Sky distress inks.

Challenges

So come on over and see what the rest of the DT have to show you, and show us your fab creations! :)
