Canary Love!

Good morning!
Yay the sun is finally shining! It's cold, but it's bright, and that's how I like it! :)

I have a nice girly card for you today...kind of more like my original fussier style of card, though still a little bit CAS...

I have used Canary Love from Saturated Canary...it's AGES since I coloured one of these lovelies in, but I loved it! I think it was somewhat helped by the fact that I now have all the original Flexmarkers, thanks to the fabulous Jen! She bought me them for my birthday yesterday! :) So now I can get the hair looking so much better!

I embellished very simply with a rose made from seam binding and used a Die-Namics flourish. The sentiment is Pink Petticoat and the coloured card is Stampin' Up! Pool Party, which I won from Cardmaking & Papercraft as my Advent Calendar was featured as their star letter!

This is what I won...

How cool is that? And it arrived on my birthday too!! :)

Sketch Saturday #232 with Saturated Canary!

Hellooooo!
How was your Halloween? Spooktacular I hope? We had a few trick or treaters, and Keiran enjoyed going out himself too, but I think the highlight was going to the Halloween Disco last night! So funny watching 8-11 year old lads dancing! Keiran had a fab time too!

Anyway, it's my turn to host over at Sketch Saturday and this week I'm thrilled to have Saturated Canary as our sponsor!

Krista is offering 2 images to the lucky winner! Krista has also agreed to be my guest designer for November so do pop over to Sketch Saturday and take a look at what she has created, and the rest of our fab DT, and maybe get inspired to enter yourself!

my card

I used Party Hardy and coloured her with Promarkers. The paper is some of Jen's and the ribbon is from my stash. Oh and I added a bit of liquid pearls to her dress.

Sketch Saturday #213

Good morning!
I love Saturday mornings...it means it's time for a new challenge at Sketch Saturday!
This week we are sponsored by

Here is my card

This lovely image is Canary Love from Saturated Canary, and I have coloured her with Promarkers and Faber Castell pencils for shading and depth. The papers are Jen's...can't remember the name, sorry! They have a lovely sparkle to them, and I also added glitter to the heart and the flower in her hair.

Here is the sketch we are challenging you to use this week...

Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Jen's Birthday card!

Hello all!
I am here today to share the card I have made for Jen's birthday! Now as most of you will know, she loves crafting, especially colouring, and she has taught me most of what I know about it! So when I saw this image, I just knew it was perfect for her card this year! :)

This is the gorgeous Colour Me Wonderful from Saturated Canary!
I have coloured her with Promarkers and used Polychromo pencils to soften and texturise her hair, after I coloured it using only fine nibs on my PM's. It takes ages to do this way, but it really gives a natural look!
Now the interesting thing is that I printed the image in 'draft' setting on my printer, so I only have very soft outlines to the image. I have tried it once before, and after seeing a challenge to do just that this week, I thought I'd try it again! I really love how it looks! It has a much softer, more realistic look to it. I suspect I will be trying this more often! :)
The papers are Spring Jubilee by Pink Paislee...magazine freebies I think. The butterflies are Martha Stewart and the lace is from my stash.
I didn't actually mean for this to be quite so pink as it's not Jen's favourite colour, but there you go...hope she likes it anyway!

Thanks for popping by for a peak! :)

Colourful Ava!

Good evening all!
I don't want to jump the gun, or presume too much just yet, but I think my Mojo has finally returned!!
Here is a card I made tonight using my new technique, which this time I intend to stick to lol! I chose my image, then chose my papers, then coloured my image to match...the card came together far easier than usual!

Isn't she beautiful?! She is Ava from Saturated Canary and I've coloured her with Promarkers, and Faber Castell pencils for shading and depth. The papers are the Beach Babe stack, free with this month's Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine, the flowers are Prima,
the Baker's Twine from the Ribbon Girl, and ribbon is from my stash. I finished with a little Glossy Accents on the balloon and her eyes.

Challenges

Thanks for stopping by, and please keep visiting to make sure my Mojo is still around!

Thinking of my Auntie

Hello again!
Ooh 2 in one day you say? Yup! Been a while since I have done that when neither are DT cards!

This card has a personal touch for me...we have recently found out that one of my Mum's Sisters has lung cancer. So far, the doctors say it's in the very early stages, so they think it's cureable in 3 treatments, but it's still a worrying time for her and her family. So I have made this card to give to her, sometime very soon I hope.

This gorgeous image happened to be released by Krista at Saturated Canary the same week as we heard the news. So it has been coloured in since then, waiting for me to make her into a card! Isn't she a beauty?! I know she is designed for a sad occasion, but I'm sure she will bring much comfort and brightness to many people. She is free btw, just pop on over to Krista's blog to download her for yourself.

I coloured her with Promarkers, backing papers are Wild Rose Studio Butterfly Garden, Prima flowers, and the ribbon & pearls are from my stash. The sentiment is also Wild Rose Studio.

Challenges

Ok...better get to bed!
Night!

Marissa and her Guitar

Hello!!!
Well what a busy day I had yesterday! Keiran and I planted absolutely tonnes of seeds! Potatoes, broccoli, carrots, lettuce, courgettes, runner beans, french beans, broad beans, squash, cabbage, onions, spring onions, leeks, sprouts, Marigolds, Busy Lizzies, Hollyhock, Delphinium...I think that's everything lol! So if they all come through, (which I doubt but hey hum!), we'll be quite self sufficient this year! Provided we're allowed to water them lol!

And then I even made chicken and mushroom pie for tea, with homemade pastry!! And it was yum! Not perfect, but yum! :)

Anyway, after all that hard work, I decided I needed an hour or so of crafting time so after doing some colouring in yesterday morning (I know...how busy was I??!), I had some images to play with, so here is a card I made with one of them...

This gorgeous little girly is Marissa with her Guitar from Saturated Canary, and she is brightly colour with Promarkers. The papers and sentiment are MME Quite Contrary paperstack, and the twine is from The Ribbon Girl. I distressed the edges of each panel using my craft knife, while I wait for my Tim Holtz distressing tool to arrive, so the edges don't look as distressed as they could. The background and 'aura' is chalked using Dovecraft chalks.

Challenges

Well thanks for looking and hope to be back tomorrow! :)

I can't believe that yet another week has passed!
There were some stunning entries into Tracey's sketch challenge last week! Were you a winner?
So this week, we are sponsored by Simon Says Stamp
and here is the sketch

and my card

This stunning image is Wedding Day from Saturated Canary, lightly coloured with Promarkers. Everything else is from my stash! There are 2 things I regret about this card...the pink underskirt and the cropped train. Other than that, I love it! :)

Sketch Saturday #196 and Saturated Canary!

Good Morning everyone!
I hope you're all well!
Well I can't believe it but another week has flown by so it's time for another challenge at Sketch Saturday!
This week is all about Tracey, and here is her sketch...
Awesome isn't it?! The other great news is that we are sponsored by
So with that said, here is my card...

Now when I saw the sketch it screamed 'girly, lacy, doily, pink!' Then I went away, chose my image, and realised it was for this sketch, doh! So I had to forgo the girly card I thought I was making for this, but you know what? I love it! I loved the image anyway and knew I wanted to use it...I just thought I would struggle with the rest...but I didn't! I didn't even know I had such perfect papers lol!

Anyway, recipe...
SC Skateboarding
Promarkers
Papermania - For Him papers
Dovecraft Chalk
everything else is from stash.

Challenges

Off to my market now...wish me luck! :)

Hollywood Girl!

Good morning everyone!
Well whilst sitting here listening to the Brits on the radio last night, I made a red carpet worthy card!

Of course, this is a Saturated Canary image (my newest obsession!) and, of course, she is coloured with Promarkers! The papers are Papermania Capsule collection and I used some shimmery paper, roses (silver ones coloured with PM's), ribbon, feather and pearls to finish the card.
I'm not 100% happy with her hair. I must have spent 60mins of the two hours it took to colour her, on her hair! Oh well, other than that, I am very happy with the card! It's a keeper! ;)

Challenges

Thanks for popping by! :)

Little Sweetheart!

Good Afternoon!
I've had a day off crafting and come back itching lol! To craft that is not from some weird disease or withdrawal!
So I did some colouring in last night and here's the card I made with the image...
'Violet likes the colour pink and ballerina shoes...curls in her hair and pretty tutus!'

I really love this super pretty image! She is 'Violet' from Saturated Canary. I have coloured her with Promarkers and used Pink Petticoat background paper. The lace and gems are from my stash, as is the pink mounting paper the already embossed vellum (embossed it ages ago then didn't use it!) I rubbed the vellum with chalk and finished with a Martha Stewart punched border from a piece of scrap white card.

Challenges

Ok I'm off to make tea...thanks for looking! :)

Nevaeh's Birthday

Good morning!
And welcome to my 2 newest followers, Catherine and Sarah...I hope you find lots of inspiration and don't get too bored with my waffling lol!

I am quite excited about this card I am posting, as I love it!! :D I know...shouldn't praise myself but I don't care...I really do love it! But then I think the image could have an awful lot to do with it!

'Eyes turned heaven-ward...skirts blowing in the wind...

Nevaeh is a dreamer, loves pretty things, and is all sweetness.'

Full and side views

Close up of colouring

Of course this is a Saturated Canary image (Nevaeh)...I really love these stunning images...Krista has a very rare talent! I also love how each image has a personality!

I coloured her with Promarkers, and used DP's from First Edition - Love Letters. The flower sequins, pearls, and ribbon are all from my stash. I highlighted her dress with a little glitter, and her eyes and lips with Glossy Accents.

Now as Nevaeh is a dreamer, I was going to add the 'dreaming of everything wonderful for you' Lili of The Valley sentiment but I didn't think it would fit in with the Birthday Sundaes challenge as I didn;t think it was 'birthday' enough, so I used a different one instead.

Challenges

I really hope you love this one as much as I do! :)
