Less Is More - Use 3 Stamps!

Oooh Saturday morning = Less is more Challenge! :) I hope I can do my entry more justice this week, as my mojo seems to have made a return this week!
So this week at Less Is More, the challenge is
Oh dear...
Now I think I got carried away with the snow...or maybe I was trying to create 'white space' on a black card lol!
Anyway, this was created using a Kanban Christmas set I have. Lots of masking too, which is something I don't do a lot of!

Anyway, off to work now! And it's sunny for a change...typical!
Byeee!

O (black and white) Christmas Tree!

Hello again!
Ok here is my 3rd (I think!) Christmas card for 2012...I am keeping my pledge to myself to make them throughout this year, instead of just at the end lol!

The stamp is Kanban that I picked up for half price in the Hobbycraft sale in January, and I have just stamped it in black Memento and then blinged it to within an inch of it's life! Not that the photo's show it :(
The black card is from my stash and I only have one piece....I think I got it along time ago free from a magazine, along with a few other colours...it really is gorgeous! The ribbon came in a kit from Create 'n Craft a couple of years ago. And that's it!
I am still 'shopping' my stash too! :)

Thanks for looking! :)

Christmas Heart - Less Is More

Hi again LIMettes!
I have another heart card to enter into the Less Is More Challenge this week......

Now this was Jen's idea so I have to give her credit, but I did all the designing and crafting lol! I cut a heart mask with a Nestabilities die then used a new set of Wild Rose Studio snowflake stamps and stamped them in Embossing ink, which I then sprinkled with Personal Impressions Pastel Lilac embossing powder. The sentiment is from my Kanban Autumn Silhouettes set and embossed the same way. I finished with 3 purple gems.
Hope you like it! :)

#5 LIM

Good morning all!
After a tidy up in the garden this morning, before it rains again, here is another entry into LIM-Pick A Square Challenge.
I found this to be one of the hardest cards to design......using the top left square. But I remembered this recently bought stamp from cArt-us and I thought it would be perfect.

I stamped it in Rich Cocoa Memento and the sentiment is from the Kanban set I've been using.......Autumn Silhouettes. Inside I'm going to print 'Have a great time!'

Back with the final one tomorrow......got the idea in my head...... ;)

Some more Less is More!

Hey everyone!
I had a lovely day yesterday at my friend Gemma's little girl Amelia's Baptism. It was a lovely service and the 'do after' was fab......wonderful venue at Prestwich bowling, cricket and tennis club!

Anyway, I havea couple of cards to make for orders, but while stuff is drying on them I managed to have a little play with some of my stamps and my new chalks.
This first one is from the Kanban Autumn Silhouettes again but this time I used both the 'positive' and 'negative' stamps of the tree. I started with the positive and stamped the tree with Versamark. I then coloured it with my new chalks, using a cotton bud for the small areas. Then I stamped using the negative stamp and before colouring I placed a small circle to mask off for the sun. I then cloured with chalks and then removed the circle and coloured the sun. Not sure if it really shows on here.....but itdoes look really effective in the 'flesh'!

This second one is from cArt-us and I again stamped inVersamark, and coloured with the chalks. The sentiments are both from the Kanban set, stamped in Rich Cocoa Memento.
Hope you like today's offerings for the Less is More - Pick a Square challenge. It's the first time I've tried masking...bit gutted it doesn't show on the photo!

Less Is More - pick a square

Happy LIM-day everyone!
Yes it's Saturday morning and as I'm not working I've managed to get my first entry in early......unlike last week!
Anyway, the theme or sketch this week is 'pick a square'......my first thought was a bit 'oooh erm...' but having seen Chrissie and Mandi's lovely creations it's much easier than I first thought!

The stamp is Kanban, stamped with Versamark and colouring with my bargain new Dovecraft chalks from Dunelm Mill and the sentiment is computer generated. Simples!

Ok breakfast time now! ;)

Black and....

I have made this card for challenge #69 at Totally Gorjuss. The theme this week is 'black and...' After I made it, I realised that it could also be entered into the Less is More '3 Squares' challenge this week, so I have added this as a late entry!
I made a 6x6in card blank out of some turquoise card and matted and layered black and turquoise card, wrapping with a ribbon from Club Green before using silicone glue to attach it to the card blank. The stamps and sentiment are from the Kanban Autumn Silhouettes set. I finished with a simple bow and two black gems from Dunelm Mill.
Hope you like this card...it's a bit different for me...that's why I love these blog challenges! They push me to try someting new and different!

Flowers & Flutterbys (CES challenge)

Here is my first ever entry into the CES Friday challenge. The theme for this week is 'Flowers & Flutterbys' and I felt like doing something a little different from my usual. No papers, no colouring in, no ribbon, no pre-made flowers, no glitter....doesn't leave alot you'd think? Well actually I was surprised that by missing all the things that I generally live by out, I ended up creating a pretty, simple but very effective card and I love it!

Ok so how I made it...The stamps are from the Kanban Autumn Silhouettes set, and I just randomly stamped 2 of them in the bottom left corner to create a 'climbing ivy' kind of effect, with Versacolour Khaki. A little tip-practice on a piece of square paper before stamping straight onto the card. I stamped the greeting (from the free mini stamps picked up at The Range with the voucher in Docrafts mag last month) directly onto the card in Versacolour Peony, but to be honest, it didn't match and it looked too flat. So I re-stamped it in Khaki, cut it out and attached it with silicone glue...you can still just see the Peony underneath, which is just the right effect!
The flowers are also stamped from the same set, with the same colours, and then cut out, shaped and layered. The butterflies are cut out of Shrink Plastic with the very popular Tonic punch. I use it (and see it used) all the time and I wanted to try a different way of using it. I dabbed the Peony inkpad over each butterfly before using my heat gun to shrink them to size. I shaped the wings up before they cooled to give the effect of flight.
I finished with Anita's gems in the middle of each flower and on the sentiment.

I know this was long winded, so if you read it, thank you! If not, I don't blame you but thanks for looking anyway! :D
