Bloomin' Sweetheart

Good morning all!
Today I'm showing you one of my new favourite dies. You may remember it being in the Spring/Summer catalogue, and I am very excited to see it in the new annual catalogue! I have used it in a slightly different way though....do you recognise it?

The die is from the gorgeous Bloomin' Heart Thinlits. I cut the heart out of Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper. To give the heart a different shape, I die cut a sweetheart shape out of the top panel of my card using one of the new Sweet and Sassy Framelits dies and stuck the filigree heart behind it.

Doesn't it look lovely? I finished with a simple punch Bitty Butterfly and some Basic Pearls.

I'd love it if you could join me on Friday when I will show you a 'manly' and not so 'lovey dovey' way to use this gorgeous heart.

Have a lovely day and see you soon!

Timelessly Elegant Butterfly

Good afternoon all!
I hope you are well? Isn't it nice to finally have summertime here in the UK? Ok, so the weather is still not quite there yet, but it's so nice to have the lighter evenings isn't it?!

Anyway, I came into my craft room this morning to make a card for my niece's 2nd birthday tomorrow, and came up with this...

Ok...it's a birthday card but not quite right for a 2yr old right? Hmmm....back to the drawing board then!

Anyway, how did this card come about? Well as it's Saturday I thought I'd pop and see what the challenge at Less Is More is, and it's White Space, but not the colour white, so that inspired a coloured card base and the challenge at Freshly Made Sketches gave me my layout....
Then I thought I'd use some DSP and Timeless Elegance was at the top of the box, then I just fancied a pop of colour, hence the Blackberry Bliss butterfly from Watercolour Wings.

I'm hoping you can see above the subtle sparkle from my Wink Of Stella pen...I used the clear one to give some shimmer to my butterfly.

And above you can see the Gold embossed sentiment from Teeny Tiny Sentiments...perfectly tiny enough to give a message without taking anything away from the main panel.

If you'd like to order any of the items I used today, please do click on my link just over there on the right. >>>>>
And thank you if you do! :)

I am really happy with this card! Now I better go get my niece's card made!

Have a lovely Saturday!

Feathery Thanks

Hi everyone!
Did you have a good bonfire night? We went next door to their annual bonfire and firework display...it was a lovely night!

So today is the new challenge at CAS - Colours and Sketches and it is my turn to host this month!

So the first week is a colour challenge, and this is the colour combo you have to work with this week...

Now when I chose these colours, I had Christmas in mind (now that Halloween and Bonfire night are out of the way!)

As you can see, that idea went by the wayside...

I went into my craft room, and sat on the desk from when I first played with this stamp set, were some gold embossed feathers! So what better place to start than here? The feathers are from the Four Feathers stamp set and are die cut using the matching Framelits. We were very lucky to each have been given this bundle at convention back in October...how awesome is that?!

I simply scored 3 lines across the Very Vanilla cardstock, then stamped the sentiment from Good Greetings in Cherry Cobbler.

I finished by popping the panel up on Dimensionals, and adding a Linen Thread bow.

I was a bit dubious about this stamp set, if I'm honest. It's not that I don't like it, I just didn't know how I would be able to use it! I have now realised that I actually love it, and I am sure you will be seeing me use it lots more!

So, what will you make using this colour combo? Maybe something Christmassy?? I can't wait to see!

Hello Love!

Hello everyone!
Wow! School holidays really do mess with blogging! And I haven't even had Keiran this week as he's with his Dad! I have, however, taken the opportunity to work some overtime, and spend some quality 1-2-1 time with my man, which has been wonderful!

I have managed to make my card for this week's challenge at CAS-Colours and Sketches thought, and this month is Jacqueline's turn to set our challenges. Here is the first...

Now I must admit, I have kind of let my heart rule this one! I made this card entirely with my Mike in mind (please don't puke lol!!!)

I really love these colours together...they make for a manly card! I have used the lovely Hostess set, Hello Love, and I coloured it using my Stampin' Write Markers. I coloured the background cloud in Night of Navy, stamped off once, then coloured the rest of the stamp before stamping onto my Very Vanilla cardstock.

I embossed a strip of hearts across my Cherry Cobbler cardstock using a retired border EF, then layered it all onto a Night Of Navy card blank. The solid hearts were then filled with Crystal Effects for some dimension. The whole card is a very cute 10cm square.

I love this cute card and sometime soon it will find it's way to Mike's with a suitable soppy message inside I'm sure! ;)

Have a fantastic Thursday!

Follow Your Arrow...

...and do want want! (see bottom of post...it makes sense, honest!)

Good morning!
It's time for another challenge at Sketch Saturday and this week it has been designed by Cathy...

Isn't it fab? For my card I used an old but still current stamp for the main image...Summer Silhouettes.

I stamped my image in Basic Black onto Very Vanilla cardstock.

I used some of the retiring Modern Medley DSP for my background panels and finished with the sentiment from Express Yourself hostess set, which is also retiring.

Now after you have had a look at the rest of the DT cards, go ahead and make yours and don't forget to link it up to our challenge!

Jen and I went to see the wonderful and very sweet Kacey Masgraves in concert last night, and she was brilliant! We've seen her 4 times now, including when she supported Lady Antebellum and she never disappoints! Here she is...

I really do need a pair of those boots!
Do Google her and check out one of her songs, Follow Your Arrow and let me know what you think! :)

Have a great weekend!

Erm....Christmas??

Good morning!
How has your week been? It feels like I have been away from crafting forever whilst I've been away this week! I am hoping to have a crafty day today, after I've been to the gym of course!

Anyway, last night I made my DT card for our new challenge at Sketch Saturday and it was nice to get back to it!
Oh and yes, I have gone and done it...I've made this year's first Christmas card!!

Now I don't know about you but I have a tonne of Washi Tape that I just am not using very much, so I thought it was about time I did!

I have used Watercolour Wonder Washi Tape and as it is so lovely and gold, I thought it would be great for Christmas so I added a gold heat embossed bauble from Christmas Collectibles. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments.

Happy Easter and Happy Retirement!

Hello and Happy Easter!
Today is a very important day in the Christian calendar...the day of  Jesus' resurrection. I would like to think that somehow, today is a new start for all humanity and that all evils cease.

I don't have an Easter project today but I do have a card that I would like to enter into the Freshly Made Sketches this week.

I used Clockworks stamped in Crumb Cake and Cherry Cobbler. I also inked the edges of the Crumb Cake cardstock, the watch and the sentiment, which is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments.

I finished with staples (for a manly feel!) and a Candy Dot for the centre of the watch, which I popped up on dimensionals.

Very Vanilla Mosaic Thank you

Hello all!
Did you enjoy your weekend? We had a lovely time with Archie, but it's nice to be able to leave things lying around again without the fear of him grabbing it or chewing it lol! Mind you, he has grown up a lot since we last had him and is a lot calmer in general.

Anyway, here's a card I made last night whilst I had 10 minutes to play...

I very rarely use Very Vanilla card blanks and when I started this one I really wasn't sure how it was going to turn out, but I rather like it!

I used Mosaic Madness stamped in Raspberry and Coastal Cabana and a sentiment from Simply Sketched stamped in Sahara Sand. I then layered onto a Sahara Sand matt and onto my card blank. A touch of liquid pearls finished it nicely I think :)

Supplies
Cardstock - Very Vanilla, Sahara Sand
Stamps - Mosaic Madness, Simply Sketched
Ink - Coastal Cabana, Raspberry Ripple, Sahara Sand

A new baby Down Under!

Hiya peeps!
How is your week going? I'm having a busy one, but then I always seem to be busy lately! It's a good thing, honest!

I had a request for a new baby card the other day, with a rather unusual name request...

The card is to be sent to a Great Auntie and Great Uncle in Australia, who sadly will never be grandparents, so they are being Grauntie and Gruntle!

I have used the sadly retired Bundle of Love stamp and stamped it on Very Vanilla, Wisteria Wonder and Pink Pirouette card stock, then paper pieced parts of the pram. I added a little dimension with stitching, liquid pearls and a Basic Gray Candy Dot, and finished with a computer printed sentiment cut out with one of the framelits from the Chalk Talk set. The Basic Gray card was punched with the Scallop Trim Border Punch.

The background papers are available for My Digital Studio, which I am loving! I haven't created a card with it yet, but I am loving the printable elements! It is available with a FREE trial so why not give it a go? It comes with several elements included to get you started, including stamps, sentiments, papers and embellishments.
