Six Sided Sampler....it's been a while!

Good afternoon everyone!
First of all, I'd like to welcome my newest follower, Urska, to my blog. Urska is from Ljubljana in Slovenia and has a lovely, creative blog. I had the pleasure of visiting Ljubljana in 2007...it's beautiful there!

It's my secone week hosting this month at CAS-Colours and Sketches this week and I have designed the following sketch for you...

In my craft class last Friday, one of my ladies was looking through the catalogue and fell in love with the Six Sided Sampler, which reminded me that I haven't used it in quite some time! So as I had it out for her to look at, and my UPS man hasn't been with all my new catalogue goodies yet, I decided to use it for this card!

I stamped the hexagons in Pink Pirouette and So Saffron and punch using the Hexagon Punch, and used a Wisteria Wonder card base. The side panel is embossed with the Hexagon Embossing Folder and the flowers are from Pictogram Punches, punched with the matching Bitty Punches.

I finished with the sentiment from Six Sided Sampler and gem on one of the flowers. A nice feminine card I think!

Now I had a visit from the UPS man yesterday afternoon....oooooh I am so going to have some fun with all those new stamps! Watch this space! ;)

Enjoy playing with the sketch and I look forward to seeing all your creations! :)

A Pretty Baptism Card

Good morning!
We have another fab sketch for you over at Sketch Saturday, this time designed by Debra.

Isn't a fab sketch? I used it to design a Baptism card for a baby in our congregation at church.

I have used a lovely die for the cross and dusted it with chalk to give some subtle colour. I punched little flowers from the Bitty Punch set, chalked the bottom layer, and added a hole punched pink dot to the middle of each flower, finishing with Crystal Effects.

The ribbon is a retired Stampin' Up! one and the sentiment was created using MDS.

Hardwood Easter Cross.

Hello peeps!
I have an Easter card for you today that I made for my neighbour. It was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest. You can see the original here.

I stamped the Hardwood Background stamp in Soft Suede on Crumb Cake cardstock, then cut two strips. I added a cross of Linen Thread to give the effect it was holding them together.

The flowers are created using two of the punches from the Bitty Punch Pack, and the middles are punched holes with a little Crystal Effects for some subtle shine. The sentiment is from Blessed Easter and is stamped with Crumb Cake and So Saffron.

I'm entering my card into the challenge at SUO Challenges - Easter.

Do you send Easter cards? This will be the first year that I have. I'm not sure why I never have before...

Anyway, I'm off to work...catch you tomorrow!

CAS sketch challenge

Good morning everyone and a big, warm welcome to yet another follower...Linda! I'm honoured to have followers and I hope I can be of inspiration to each and every one of you!

Ok so today is Thursday which means it's a new challenge at CAS - Colours and Sketches. This week is a sketch challenge...what do you think of this?

I do love this layout! I toyed with using a coloured background, but it seemed to 'clog' the card up somewhat, so here is the very clean card I made instead...

I used the flower stem stamp from the hostess set Morning Meadow, and stamped it in Smoky Slate. I added a few little So Saffron flowers punched out with one of the Bitty Punch set, and finished with Bermuda Bay Candy Dots.

The sentiment is from another hostess set...Express Yourself and is stamped in Bermuda Bay. Do you like the shadows? I simple mounted my punched shapes onto Smoky Slate, slightly offset so they look like shadows...cool huh?

I noticed that my card fits in with the challenge over at Less is More this week - 3 of Something.

Petite Daffodils for Mum

Hello!
I would like to welcome my newest followers to my blog...Carla, Elaine, Mary Jo, Jacqueline and Jeanne. Whether you have come from my old blog, or are brand new followers, it's so wonderful to see you here!

Ok UK Mother's Day will soon be here, and I decided to be early with my Mum's card for a change! I'm usually 'last minute Lizy' so this is a first for me! My Mum loves daffodils, and I wanted to do her a card with them on, but I don't have any daffodil stamps. So I made my own...

I used 3 different stamp sets for the daffodils. Petite Petals, Mosaic Madness and Blessed Easter. I inked up just the leaves from the Blessed Easter stamp with Pear Pizzazz Marker and water coloured it with the same. The daffodils are created by stamping and punching the Petite Petals flower and the centre is stamped from the Mosaic Madness set, then punched using one of the little punches from the Bitty Punch set.

I cut the image out using one of the Ovals Collection Framelits, then used the next size up to cut an oval on my Whisper White layer. I paper pierced both ovals using the Paper Piercing Occasions pack before mounting onto an A5 Pear Pizzazz card base. (I just noticed that I missed one of the piercings...I will have to fix that!) The sentiment was fussy cut, (and I do mean fussy!), from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments set.

I am going to enter my card into the challenge at Less is More - Green and Yellow...I'm making up for missing the last couple of weeks!

It is the first day of Lent today, and this year we have a Love Live, Live Lent theme, which means that rather than give something up, (which let's face it, is usually to benefit yourself), we are encouraged to 'Be the change' and do something nice to try and change the world. So each day, I am going to post that one thing each day...who knows? Maybe the world really will become a better place! So here is today's task...

Think about something you have done wrong and say sorry.

I have a crafty date today with Serena, a friend from work and I am really looking forward to it! Hope you have a lovely day too!

A Pretty Thank You

Morning!
How was your weekend?I hope you had a good one. I was working but I managed to get some crafting in too. I have missed entering the Less Is More challenge for the last couple of weeks so I think it's time to get back on track with it! So here is a card I made last night after work, just for the challenge, which is Green and Yellow.

For a simple looking card, I used a lot of products! It was nice to have a play with various stamps and punches! Can you see the subtle background? I stamped it with the En Francais background stamp using the Illuminate Glimmer Watermark ink pad. This gives the background a gentle shimmer, seen in this picture below...

Isn't it pretty? And oh so shimmery! The flowers are stamped using Petite Petals and the tiny flowers from Mosaic Madness. They were punched using Petite Petals Punch and one of the Bitty Punches. The leaves are from Summer Silhouettes. I finished with a So Saffron Candy Dot...I have finally ordered some so now I can use the few I have, instead of hoarding them!
