Mirror, mirror on the wall...

Yay it's Friday!!
Do you have that Friday feeling?? I do...I have my lovely ladies coming to my craft class tonight and I can't wait! I love spending time crafting with them...we always have so much fun! I currently hold my monthly classes at my home, but if they continue to grow I may have to go bi-monthly, or look at renting a bigger space...eeeek how exciting!!

Anyway, today I wanted to show you another mirror I have altered...it's another quite modern one but I think I'd like to try a vintage style one next, if I can find just the right mirror...

So for this one, I used Everything Eleanor again...I really love the swirl which I stamped in black Stazon.

I stamped the flowers onto Vellum Cardstock, in Island Indigo, then I coloured the backs of them using my Watercolour Pen and the same ink. It gave the flowers a soft colour without going too heavy.

I really am enjoying making these mirrors...they are really effective and pretty, don't you think?

What are you up to this weekend? Are you going to a bonfire or did you go to one this week already? Whatever you're doing, enjoy!

Simply Stars

Good morning peeps!
It's time for a new sketch at Sketch Saturday and this one is on of Jen's sketches.

Here is the card I made for my brother's birthday using the sketch...

I used the fab Simply Stars stamp set and stamped it in Cajun Craze, Island Indigo and Bravo Burgundy.

The sentiment was created on MDS.

I wonder what you will create?

Sketch Saturday #301

Hello everyone!
We had an amazing response to our challenge and blog hop last week! If you remember, there were secret prizes along the way which you had a chance to win by commenting on all the blogs. I'm excited to say that I was offering a prize!
So who was my winner?
Drum roll please..........

Congratulations! Please contact me to claim your prize.

Ok so now onto this week's sketch!

I had to make a card in a hurry for a commission and I thought this sketch was just perfect for it!

I used a super cute James Bear stamp from Lili Of he Valley and coloured him with Stampin' Write Markers and Aqua Painters. The thing I love about the inks is that they are so easy to match up with Stampin' Up! designer papers! The paper I have used here is Birthday Basics.

I used the Elegant Stripes embossing folder to give interest to the otherwise plain background.

My new phone cover!

Hello all!
I got a new phone on Friday, which of course means a new phone cover! So, as I can never find one I like, I have made my own again!

I have used Gorgeous Grunge, Elements of Style and Peachy Keen to pretty up my case. The reason I chose this design is because my phone is kind of my 'lifeline'...it has all my numbers, my lists to organise myself, precious photos and it keeps me in touch with my most favourite people in the world! So, in short, life really is a matter of moments and my phone captures them all!

This is how it looks with the plastic case on it...

The colours I used are Island Indigo, Strawberry Slush and Basic Gray. I chose the colours as I totally love the combo...my favourite I think!

Winter Blues for Less Is More

Good morning!
Oooh it's good to be up early on a Saturday, making that quick card before I go to work!

I have some wonderful news too! I am honoured to have been asked to sponsor Less is More for the month of January! How wonderful is that?! Thank you so much Chrissie and Jen!

I am offering a £15 Stampin' Up! voucher to the winner!

This week's challenge at Less Is More is

WINTER BLUES

So here is my entry...

I used one of the Designer Frames Embossing folders for the frame, a sentiment from Petite Pairs cut our with the Elegant Label punch and stamped some ink spray using the Gorgeous Grunge stamps....a set I have totally fallen in love with!

I finished with a retired embellishment, some Whisper White Baker's Twine and some Crystal Effects dotted around the card.

I have to dash now...whatever you're doing, have a fab Saturday! :)

A little set of Sale-a-Bration sneak peek cards!

Good morning! Is it a good Monday morning or are you back at work and wishing you weren't? I am back at work after having this weekend off, which I spent visiting my best friend Sarah and my parents....lovely!

Before I went I had a couple of hours in my craft room and I made these using all new Sale-a-Bration sneak peek freebies! There will be more info on this fab deal later this week!

I have used two of the lovely stamp sets, a new punch and just a few complimentary colours to create this set of cards. They are 10cm x 10cm square cards...aren't they cute?

I used Banner Blast and See Ya Later stamp sets, and Island Indigo, Raspberry Ripple and Pretty In Pink Stampin' Write markers.

The little banners were punched out using the cute little banner punch.

I am entering my cards into the challenge at Less is More, using week 55 - punches or die cuts.

Do you have any plans for today? Apart from work, we may be catching up with another friend too!
Have a lovely day, whatever you're doing!

Birthday Butterfly

Good morning! Yay it's Friday!
I have the pleasure of my little man's company this weekend, and I can't wait! :)

I have a card for you today, using an stamp I haven't used for a while...

Here is the beautiful Swallowtail stamp and I have coloured it with Island Indigo ink; pen and inkpad with blender pen.

I used the fab new Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder to give the illusion of flight and movement, enhanced by the butterfly not being flush on the card.

I will be honest, I'm not overly thrilled with this card...I think the butterfly could have done with more colour...what do you think?

Supplies
Stamps - Swallowtail, Simply Sketched
Ink - Basic Black, Island Indigo
Designer Series Paper - In Colour 2012/14 (ret)
Ribbon - Smoky Slate Chevron
Embossing - Stylish Stripes

Have you visited my new shop yet for all your Stampin' Up! goodies? What do you think? If you haven't, please do pop on over and give me your opinion...I'd love to know what you think!

Thanks for popping by today, and don't forget to let me know what you think of my card and my shop!

Stamping on Simply Pressed Clay!

Hello!
I did it!! I beat my 35 minute target for the Race For Life! I managed it in 32:30 mins! My previous best was around 38 mins so I am very happy with my time! 30 mins to beat next year then! ;) Here are some photos (I haven't added the bad ones lol!)

The three Ladbrokes girls with Adam Caterall from Key 103!

It is not too late to sponsor me...my page will be open for a while so I would love it if you give a little, give a lot, give what you can...it is for Cancer Research, and I am sure we can all say we have been touched by cancer at some point in our lives.

Ok, so now for today's card. I promised you a different way to use Simply Pressed Clay, and here it is!

I have used the fab Six Sided Sampler stamp and matching Hexagon punch. I've also teamed the brand new Coastal Cabana with the lovely Pool Party for a fresh look.

So have you spotted it yet? Yup, the butterfly! As you may know, I like to experiment a little and 'play' with products so I was more than thrilled when this worked!

I rolled out my clay onto a non-stick craft sheet, then after stamping off the butterfly stamp to remove some of the lush Strawberry Slush ink, then stamped it onto the clay. I let the clay dry, then carefully cut out the butterfly. It is a very light and very flexible embellishment, and I think, if it were varnished, it would be waterproof and good for a brooch or decoration for a headband...I shall be trying that soon! :)

Supplies
Stamp - Six Sided Sampler, Papillon Potpourri
Ink - Strawberry Slush, Island Indigo, Pool Party
Other - Simply Pressed Clay
Punch - Hexagon Punch

If you would like to order these sentiments, any of the products I have used, or any of the other fabulous new products, please do contact me and I will be very happy to place your order for you.

I hope you'll give this fab technique a try and if you do, please let me know so I can come see :)

Partial Embossing using an Embossing Folder

Good morning!
And another bright and sunny one it is too!

Here is one of the cards I made at Jen's yesterday afternoon whilst there with Vicky too.

I decided I needed to try my hand at a male anniversary/valentine card as I have none in my box! Can you see how the card has been partially embossed? I did this popping my card blank into my Argyle EF and taping it shut so the card doesn't move. I then taped a strip of double thickness chipboard across the outside of the EF, where I wanted embossing. With the chipboard side down, I ran it through my bigshot missing the bottom clear plate. I repeated this step further down the card to create another strip.

The word 'love' is stamped onto the card blank using my brand new Morning Post stamp set, and I cut out the 'O' and popped it up for dimension! The button is made from the fabby Simply Pressed Clay...it has added no weight to my card at all! The hearts were sadly retired a while ago.

Supplies
Stamp - Morning Post
Ink - Real Red, Island Indigo
Embossing - Argyle EF
Other - Simply Pressed Clay & Moulds, Island Indigo Baker's Twine
