Stamped Background

Hello crafters!
We have another challenge for you at CAS-Colours and Sketches, and this week it's a fabulous sketch, designed by Karen.

When I saw this sketch I was first of all going to create a watercolour wash background, then I had another idea!

Have you recognised the stamps yet?

How about now? It's Gorgeous Grunge and Summer Silhouettes, with a sentiment from Express Yourself (retiring). I stamped the top half in Soft Sky and the middle was created by using the already inked stamp again. The bottom is stamped using Old Olive, as was the sentiment. The flowers are punched using Boho Blossoms and Bitty Punch Pack.
The colours I have chosen are to match the challenge at Colour Throwdown this week...

Here is what I used...

Pleasant Poppies, framed

Morning Saturday Sketchers! And a huge welcome to my newest follower, Allie! I hope you enjoy visiting me from time to time :)

We have a new sketch for you, designed by Debra...isn't it fantastic?!

As soon as I saw this sketch I knew exactly what I was going to do!

I knew the gorgeous Pleasant Poppies was the perfect stamp for this sketch. I have been delving into framed art and I thought this would be a great sketch to frame, and with the arty feel of this set I knew it would work...not so sure about my colouring though...

I heat embossed the outline in Smoky Slate then coloured the poppies suing Poppy Red (ret.) and Old Olive. I first added colour to a tile and then lifted it off using a blender pen. It gives a softer feel to the colouring. I added a little basic black to the centres of the poppies. The bottom embossed panel is Pretty Print (ret.) and I finished with Real Red Taffeta Ribbon.

I used the Heat Tool to create the outline of this stamp. It has 2 heat settings which is perfect for this sort of embossing as it doesn't warp the card. And here's some fantastic news! The Heat Tool is part of the Weekly Deals this week which means you can order yours for only £19.46...that's almost £6 off!! I ordered a spare one...at that price I couldn't let it go! There are also some lovely Embossing Powders to go with it on the Weekly Deals too...perfect! :)

If you don't want to make your own, this one is available for only £8.50 plus p&p, and I am donating 10% to Help For Heroes.
The completed frame is 8in x 8in.
To purchase this item, simply drop me a call or email me.

Anyway, I'm off to work this morning so I'lll leave you crafty lot til later!

Gorgeous rainbow wings

Good morning!
This is a very quick post before I go to work.

It's Saturday which means there's a new challenge over at Less Is More, and it's their 3rd birthday! And Mandi is back as a guest designer! How lovely to see her work again and HAPPY BIRTHDAY Less Is More!

This week they have gone with a rainbow theme. As soon as I saw this challenge I knew exactly what to do!

I used Gorgeous Grunge, lots of different colours and the Beautiful Wings Embosslits folder. The butterflies were die cut from card I stamped with Gorgeous Grunge to give the a blotchy look.

My idea with this card was to make the butterflies look like they had lifted off the ink spots on the card...almost like they were flying away with stolen colour!

The colours I used are Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Tangerine Tango, Old Olive and Elegant Eggplant.

I am also entering this into the challenge at Stampin' Celebration and this photo inspiration...

Right, must dash! See you later!

Secret Garden Thank You

Hello all!
It's Thursday and that means time for a new challenge at CAS - Colours and Sketches, and this week I have chosen a colour theme that reminds me of Christmas. Though I have not made a Christmas card!

I have used Secret Garden for my flowers and leaves...it's a while since I used this set so it was nice to get it out again!

The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Banners. The inks I've used are Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive and the paper is from Season of Style.

I have used this sketch from Techno Stamper for my card.

Oooh and you know what?? I'm going to slip it in at Less Is More for their CAS Designer Paper challenge...3 entries in one week!!

Transformed notebooks

Hello!
I have a few school fairs coming up in the next couple of months so I have decided to branch out a little in items for my stall. Not everyone wants/needs cards, so I feel it's time I offered something else...see what you think of these...

I found these lovely little pads in Wilkinsons and just knew they were ripe for transformation! And the best thing? They only took about half an hour for all 3! So I am now experimenting with bigger ones, which I will show when they are done :)

Supplies
Cardstock - Naturals White, Whisper White
Stamps - Motorcycle (from MDS), Simply Stars, Express Yourself, Summer Silhouettes, Morning Post
Ink - Daffodil Delight, Marina Mist, Old Olive, Raspberry Ripple, Island Indigo
Other - Season of Style Washi, This 'n That Washi

If you would like to purchase any of these products, or anything else for that matter, you can do so using the link in my sidebar.

I hope the storm didn't cause too much damage where you are yesterday. We were lucky to have the winds bypass us in Bolton...just a lot of rain.

Have a lovely Tuesday...see you tomorrow!

A CAS sketch for Less Is More

Good morning LIMettes!
How are you? We are having a bit of an Indian summer here in Bolton, are you?

Well, on to the challenge at Less is More now, and this week we have a sketch.

Here are my cards...

This first one I've made is using Pleasant Poppies, and I made a frame using 2 framelits.

The sentiment is from Express Yourself.

This second one is made using Christmas Collectibles and More Merry Messages.

I heat embossed the bauble in gold and the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler.

I also heat embossed the edges of the circle panel and the card blank to give definition while keeping the card very CAS. I fussy cut the sentiment to overhang the panel.

Supplies
Cardstock - Whisper White, Crumb Cake
Stamps - Pleasant Poppies, Express Yourself, Christmas Collectibles, More Merry Messages,
Ink - Versamark, Poppy Parade, Old Olive, Basic Black
Embossing - Cherry Cobbler, Gold
