One for Dad's everywhere!

Hey again :)
Ok, so as I said on Wednesday, I haven't been blogging or crafting much, but I have made the odd few things over the last few months, so I'm going to share some of them over the next few posts. Here is the card I made for my Dad for Father's Day...

I combined a few products for this card...Hello You Thinlits ('Happy' cut out of the white panel), Timeless Textures (for the blobs and coffee circles), Thoughtful Banners Bundle (for the sentiment).

I used the new 2016/17 In Color, Dapper Denim for the stamping and the card base. Pretty manly, don't you think?

See you again soon :)

A colour challenge!

Hi everyone!
I'm here with my DT card for CAS-Colours and Sketches and this week it's based on these colours...

I decided they would make a cool male card, so I went with a Father's Day card for my Dad!

I first of all cut the word 'happy' from a piece of card, using the Hello You Thinlits, then layered a piece of Delightful Dijon under it.

The 'Father's Day' is from Crazy About You and that is stamped in Cucumber Crush. I attached the finished panel to my Basic Gray card base using some retired Washi Tape. Suitably male I think!

I hope you enjoy playing with these colours and I can't wait to see your cards! Do pop over to the rest of the DT if you need more inspiration!

Leftovers for Dad!

Hello everyone!
As I type this I am all set for my Friday craft class, and I have another new lady to welcome to it! I can't wait!

This is one of the cards we made last night, using up a couple of leftover stars from the card I blogged on Thursday, which was also one of our class cards.

Can you spot the leftovers? Yup, the stars! I have a horrible habit of leaving useful bits on my desk with the intention of using them, then never get round to it, so I am trying to stop that by using them straight away! The stars were die cut using Stars Framelits and were added to the panel after I wrapped a piece of Chevron Ribbon around it.

The sentiment is another 'half/half'...the 'Happy' is from Celebrate today, and I created the banner by stamping onto a strip on card, then punching one end with the Bitty Banner punch, and the 'Father's Day' is from Crazy About You. Both are stamped in Chocolate Chip and I finished with a Choc Chip Candy Dot.

I am quite pleased how well I am getting on with my Father's Day bits...I have some notebooks to share later this week too!

Have a lovely Saturday, and I may be back tomorrow with the last of the 3 cards we made last night in class.

Gardening with Dad!

Good morning all!
The sun is shining, it's Friday, and it's nearly the weekend...time for some gardening?

I am having a stall at a couple of craft fairs this month so I have decided to make a few small, inexpensive gifts that children can buy for their Dads, and here is one of them...

This little bag has affectionately become known as the 'Hallett Bag', named after the lovely lady, Caroline, who created a brilliant video on how to make it, which you can find here.

The measurements are below...
DSP - 3.5in x 12in
Base - 2.5in x 5.25in, scored at 1/2 inch all the way round.
Handles - 1/2in x 8in
Top and bottom strips - 12in x 1/2in

I filled mine with a few little gardening goodies...seeds, little pots and plant markers.

The tag is made using the Scallop Tag Topper Punch and is stamped with 'Happy' from Celebrate Today and 'Father's Day' from Crazy About You.

Aren't they cute?? I hope to make a few more of these...they only take a few minutes each and I really love how they look!

I hope you have a lovely sunny Friday!

Stars for Dad!

Good afternoon!
Today I'm here with my DT card for CAS-Colours and Sketches, and this month it's Stef's turn to play hostess! She has started with this lovely colour combo...

I decided that this combination would make a great 'man card' so I used it for a Father's Day card...

I used stars because let's face it, all Dad's are stars aren't they?! I used Stars Framelits to cut the apertures in the top layer, then added different DSP's from the colour family paperstacks.

I then used one of the die cut stars and added a sentiment banner from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments stamp set and finished with a Candy Dot.

This is a very cool colour combo...what will you do with it?

A Colourful Open Sea

Hello all.
As I type this, I have a Jessie cat sat on both my arms lol! I think she wants my attention!

I have a card here using The Open Sea again as I had a ship already stamped that I needed to use up. I was on Google looking for some inspiration when I came across this card, fell in love with the colours and decided to have a go myself...

I used my new sponge daubers to create the background of the boat...not at striking as Lulu's, but I like it nonetheless.

I stamped other images randomly over the Not Quite Navy card blank and also on the Natural Trim Ribbon. I used Mini Brads to create a porthole effect on my oval frame which I cut out using Oval Framelits.

Supplies
Cardstock - Not Quite Navy, River Rock
Ribbon etc - Linen Thread
Stamps - The Open Sea, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Ink - Island Indigo, Perfect Pumpkin, Daffodil Delight, Poppy Parade
Framelits - Ovals Collection
Other - Mini Brads

One Layer - The Open Sea!

Good morning LIMettes!

I had to laugh last week at the amount of people who asked me to share my secret of getting my entry into the Less Is More challenges so early! To be honest, I just think fast in a morning, I think because I am usually trying to get myself and a reluctant 5yr old ready for school/work or whatever, and Saturday mornings are the one morning I don't often have to do that as he's at his Dad's or Nana's, but I am still raring to go!

I have usually had my shower, breakfast and got dressed before 8am and I am usually to be found refreshing my laptop at that time and looking round my craft room for inspiration! Oh, and I often type the useless waffle up the night before, like I am now lol!

Then when the challenge is released, I'm ready to go!

So this week's challenge is...

Use a Coloured Card Blank

Ouch! Knowing Jen, this was her choice as she loves using coloured card blanks lol! Well, I have started to use them more but it's a bit tougher for one layer!

Anyway, here is my card...

For this one, I stamped the ship onto my Marina Mist card blank first, using Island Indigo and Early Espresso inks, then masked it off before stamping the 'log' and anchor in Not Quite Navy. I stamped those off onto plain paper first for a more subtle effect. I finished with an Anchor inside the card and the sentiment.

I quite like this nautical stamp set and the different styles of stamps you can get from it!

Supplies
Cardstock - Marina Mist
Stamps - The Open Sea, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Ink - Not Quite Navy, Early Espresso, Island Indigo

Ok, now I have to dash as it's a big promotional day in the shop for us today!
Have a good one! :)

A Little Golf with Lili Of The Valley

Helllloo!
How are you? Nice to have a long weekend last week, especially as I have to work this one lol!

Anyway, here is my card for our new challenge at Sketch Saturday...

I have used one of the new LoTV images and coloured him with Promarkers and Flexmarkers. I coloured the background in with chalk to give a more vintagy feel.

The fab papers are Stampin' Up! as is the sentiment, which was punched out using the Word Window, also from SU! If you would like to see more cards using Stampin' Up! products, please pop and visit me on my new blog!

So here is our sketch...

We'd love you to come visit us and don't forget that we are having a DT call too! So you could be joining us to be a Saturday Girl (or boy!) The deadline is 24th May so get your skates on!

Hope you have a lovely weekend!

An early Father's Day Card!

Good evening all!
I have card I made today, in between commission cards, to show you...

The stamp set is Best Dad Ever, and I used colours that I pull from the very manly Parkers Patterns papers. The 3 circles at the top are from Bright Blossoms, which I really must use again soon as I love that set!

I stamped the red and yellow ties twice and raised them up on the original image for some definition.

Supplies
Cardstock - Whisper White
Stamps - Best Dad Ever, Bright Blossoms
Ink - (markers) Daffodil Delight, Marina Mist, Not Quite Navy, Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black
Papers - Parkers Patterns
Other - Regals Buttons, Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine

I would be thrilled to order any of these items for you for delivery right to you. Please contact me if you would like to place an order with me!

I took Keiran to see Huddersfield play Bolton tonight at the Reebok stadium, but he was so cold and tired we left at half time. Although we (Hudds) lost 1-0, it sounds like the best half of the game was the second half...typical eh? At least I didn't miss a Hudds goal lol!

Speaking of tired...I better head to bed myself!
Goodnight!
