A bit of Argyle

Yeeeehaaa!
Well as you read this I shall be on my way to London, hopefully, to go to the Country Music Festival!! Eeeek! Excited much??

Almost as excited as I am to share this card with you! Ok, maybe I'm a tad giddy today! (don't worry, I'll be back to normal next week!)
Back to the card....I have had this Argyle embossed panel sat on my desk for months, and no, I am not exaggerating! I had plans for it once but they didn't pan out so it has sat there getting shifted around until I finally found the perfect sketch challenge to use it with (details of that below). Imagine how chuffed I was to find I had matching Back To Black DSP too!

I die cut 'happy' from Crazy About You, then stamped the 'Birthday' from the same bundle before punching out with the Word Window Punch. I then added some banners of ribbon to give a little colour and voila! Another 'man card'!

I think I'm getting the hang of non-girly cards just recently!

So here are a couple of challenges which helped inspire me...

If you love Stampin' Up! products as much as me, or have never tried them and would like to, and would like to place an order, please click on the shop link over there >>>>>>

Spring Flowers and butterflies

Good morning crafty peeps!
Ok, so I hoe you're not fed up of butterflies? No? Oh good cos here's another!

This card is a bit simpler than yesterday's, but still involves 2 butterflies. I die cut them from Calypso Coral and Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock (the latter being a bit of Core'dinations I had left). The middle panel was stamped in Pear Pizzazz with the hexagons from Butterfly Basics, then embossed with the Spring Flowers EF. I also stamped the same hexagons onto the card blank.

The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments and punched with the Word Window. I finished with Basic Pearls for a touch of added elegance.

These are the challenges I'm entering my card into....

*EDIT* I got Top Pick at Stampin' Royalty! :)

Creative Card Crew - Birthday with a Sentiment
*EDIT* I got top 3 at Creative Card Crew! :)

I hope you have a wonderful weekend with lots of crafting, family time, or whatever you enjoy!

Happy Wedding!

Good morning all!
I am quickly typing this after a very late night last night, and today I have a very long day at a craft fair! But for those of you who want to know, my date went pretty well last night, and I think there will definitely be a second date! :D

Anyway, it is Saturday so that means it's Sketch Saturday time! So here is this week's sketch...

I used the sketch for a wedding card commission I had, as I thought it would work well for it. The image was a freebie from a magazine years ago, but I used Fancy Foil Designer Vellum and 5/8'' Organza Ribbon from my online shop, along with Hearts Framelits, Word Window Punch, and a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Sentiments. This is actually a 7x7in card...a bit larger than usual, but not huge!

I printed the image onto Whisper White...isn't it lovely?

Like I said, I have a busy day today so I better get going! See you tomorrow if I have the energy left to blog! ;)

Stamped Background

Hello crafters!
We have another challenge for you at CAS-Colours and Sketches, and this week it's a fabulous sketch, designed by Karen.

When I saw this sketch I was first of all going to create a watercolour wash background, then I had another idea!

Have you recognised the stamps yet?

How about now? It's Gorgeous Grunge and Summer Silhouettes, with a sentiment from Express Yourself (retiring). I stamped the top half in Soft Sky and the middle was created by using the already inked stamp again. The bottom is stamped using Old Olive, as was the sentiment. The flowers are punched using Boho Blossoms and Bitty Punch Pack.
The colours I have chosen are to match the challenge at Colour Throwdown this week...

Here is what I used...

An embossed get well card

Hello!
I had a little play with a colour combo I have never thought of, thanks to the Colour Throwdown challenge this week :)

I embossed a piece of Pool Party card with my not very often used Houndstooth EF... I really should use this more often!

The flower is from the Flower Shop set, stamped in Night Of Navy, and punched with the Pansy Punch. The Chevron Ribbon is Calypso Coral and the sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments, stamped in Night Of Navy and cut out using the Word Window Punch. I finished with some silver glass glitter in the middle of the flower for a bit of sparkle.

So what do you think of the colour combo? I think it has a nice, fresh feel to it!

Supplies
Cardstock - Pool Party, Whisper White
Stamps - Flower Shop, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Punches/Dies - Word Window, Pansy Punch, Circles Collection Framelits
Other - Chevron Ribbon, Silver Glass Glitter

Yet another Thank You!

I seem to be making a lot of thank you cards lately...must be the time of year!
I didn't get any crafting done yesterday as I decided to get some much needed gardening done...I really hurt today! But I have just had a bit of a browse and found the challenge at Muse and decided to quickly enter it before I head to work!

I've used the fab chevrons from the Oh, Hello stamp set stamped twice in Real Red and Pacific Point.

The sentiment is from the hostess set, Morning Meadow, and is punch out using the Word Window.

Here is the gorgeous Muse card by Marion Vagg...

Supplies
Cardstock - Pacific Point, Whisper White

Less Is More - Sketch

Good Morning!
I have to do this super quick this morning as I have to be in work at 9am! We're in our new shop now and we open half an hour earlier!

So this week at Less Is More, it's time for a sketch. So here is my card...

For this very simple card I stamped my flower from Love and Sympathy in certainly Celery and Blushing Bride (one of the new colours!) The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments and is stamped in Old Olive and punched out with Word Window, then mounted onto Elegant Label. I paper pierced the edges of the panel with the Paper Piercing Essentials Pack, and finished with the ribbon which I trimmed to the white thread, leaving it stick out for a bit of interest.

Here is the sketch...

Supplies
Cardstock - Crumb Cake
Stamps - Love & Sympathy, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Ink - Blushing Bride, Old Olive,
Punches - Elegant Label, Word Window
Ribbon - Stitched Grossgrain
Other - Paper Piercing Essentials Pack

If you would like to order any of these gorgeous items please do contact me...I'm here to help! :)

I had better dash now...enjoy your Saturday, whatever you're doing! :)

Lucky Limeade sparkles

Good morning LIMettes!
I am back to early morning creations after my GDT spot last week, which I was so honoured to accept! The Less is More challenge has really helped my card designing grow...I am no longer afraid of white space and one layer! So thank you to Chrissie, Mandi and Jen for their inspiration!

Ok onto this week's challenge which is a colour challenge and it is

LIME & BLACK

Interesting!
Ok so if you've been following my blog this week, you'll know I've become a bit of a dress designer lol! Well, those gorgeous dresses are still on my mind, and I have a few cut out as I've been playing with different styles, so here is another!

Ok so for this dress I used both the Framelits in the Dress Up set. I ran the top half through the bigshot with one, and the bottom half with the other...very easy really. Then I cut off the straps to create a strapless evening style dress. I then coloured it with my Lucky Limeade marker, mounted it on my die cut stand, added some Lucky Limeade organza and a sentiment from the All Dresses Up stamp set, punched with the Word Window. The embossed  frame is made using one of the Apothecary Accents dies upside down with a silicone mat under the card. I finished with some gems and black organza from my stash.

This picture shows the difference in the Silver Glimmer paper once it's coloured...now I know it works, I shall be using it a lot more!

I'm also entering this into CAS(E) This Sketch #22

Well it's the Grand National today so I'm guessing we'll be busy lol! I don't personally like to watch the race until near the end as I hate seeing horses fall, and I don't gamble, but if you fancied a flutter, I think Seabass is a pretty good bet :)

Anyway, I better get myself to work, so bye for now and hope you have a lovely weekend! :)

Sparkly dress up

Evening all!
After breakfast, a long dog walk in the park, lunch, then swimming,  I decided I really wanted to have a play with the All Dressed Up bundle I got in my last delivery...I've used it once last week but I wasn't very happy with it. So with a bit of playing, this is what I've come up with...

I decided I wanted to make a sparkly, girly, pink dress, but I didn't have any pink sparkly stuff. But wait! I have been known in the past to just colour something in if I didn't have the right colour. Sooooo, out came the Silver Glimmer Paper, a Primrose Pink marker et voila!

I have to say, I'm rather loving it and I'm surprised how well the glimmer paper coloured up! I shall definitely be using this technique alot! The tag is made using Pool Party card embossed with the Lacy Brocade folder and the sentiment is cut out using Word Window punch.

Supplies
Cardstock - Basic Black, Pool Party, Silver Glimmer paper
Stamps - All Dressed Up
Ink - Primrose Petals
Dies - Dress Up Framelits
Embossing Folder - Lacy Brocade
Punch - Word Window
Other - ribbon and gems from my stash

If you would like to order any of these brilliant items, or anything else from either of the catalogues, please do contact me

I also have the current catalogues available to buy - both Annual and Spring/Summer together for just £4.95 including postage, or free if you join one of my Stampers 6 clubs!

Thanks for looking...I have another 2 of these cards I shall be sharing this week too, and possibly more lol!
