Thank You Gift Card

Morning LIMettes!
I think today we might finally get some rain......my garden could certainly do with it!

Before I take Keiran for a haircut, I thought I would quickly post this card that I made this morning, inspired by the card I made last night. (Butterfly Gift Card) Now I couldn't post this as a LIM card as for one it's not very 'LIM' and for two I didn't put a greeting on it so it wouldn't comply with this week's challenge. But I'd love it if you'd go have a look and tell me what you think! :) So here is one made specifically for this challenge.
These earrings were 50p from my favourite costume jewellery shop in Bolton that's shutting down so everything is half price!
And once the recipient is enjoying wearing the earrings, it still make for a pretty card!

Hope you like it!

Butterfly gift card

Hello again crafters of the world!
Well what a beautiful day it has been again today! I have done so much in the garden......planted 2 varieties of potatoes, red and white onions, sweetcorn, carrots, butternut squash, beetroot, courgettes & runner beans! I've also mowed my lawns, trimmed my hedge, re-seeded the lawn, fed the bedding plants and watered it all! A very busy day indeed! When I'd finished I decided to wind down a little by putting together a card......
On my lunch break yesterday, I went for a wander in town and found that my favourite costume jewellery shop had everything discounted by 50%! So I picked up lots of these earrings, in different styles, for 50p a pair! I bought them specifically to make gift cards like this one!
I have used the same embossing folder from Marianne that I used on another card recently. Behind it I added some purple shimmer card and pierced two holes for the earrings to go through. I then mounted it to a 6x6 card blank using double foam pads in the middle to allow easy removal of the earrings. I stuck it at the edges with silicone glue. I finished with a ribbon, some card candi and lots of tiny gems for plenty of bling!
As you can see, the earrings can easily be removed leaving a pretty card to display! The stamp used for the butterflies is a lovely one from a pair I picked up for £1.26 from my local craft shop! They're from http://www.cart-us.com/. I stamped them using my gold ink pad and cut one of them out to layer up and give a 3D effect.

I am entering this into the following challenges......
Diva's By Design's first challenge - Anything Goes
Flutterby Wednesday - Open
Craft Your Passion - Anything Goes

Just a few Thank You's...

Good evening!
Well I don't know if it's my cold, or my absolute mess of a craft room (trust me, you should see it!), or my deepening disappointment with my 'Joy' Trouvaille (I use inverted commas because it has given me pretty much anything but joy over the last few weeks!) but I have had difficulty coming up with anything today. Two of the following cards were made using My Craft Studio, and the last one did not help with my frustration at that useless piece of machinery! Anyway, here they are......

These 2 were the ones using MCS Countryside Garden. I simply positioned them on the card with a sentiment and printed onto card. Unfortunately, they didn't print exactly where I wanted on my A4 card, as they were supposed to be A5 landscape cards! So instead I cut them to fit onto 6x6 cards.
This last one made me want to throw my 'Joy' through the window! I wanted to emboss some images of flowers onto the card, but it almost cut through instead! And it wouldn't take even a Cuttlebug embossing folder! So instead I cut out the border with a Marianne Creatables die, and added two peel off dragonflies. The larger one I mounted onto dark blue card and cut it out, one to give it colour, but mainly to give it strength so the wings could be raised. I finished with my favourite Thank You stamp (don't know what make though).

My favourite one is the last one because I never really use peel offs but I like how they look :)

Now as for the Joy...... I have emailed Joy directly, I have emailed Once Upon A Stamp from whom I purchased it, and so far no answer from either! I really have no clue what to do next! Does anyone else have this machine? I know Jan has and she did get a response from Joy but I'm still waiting! Any advice would be very much appreciated!

Let's Play!

Hey again!
Well my crafting day resulted in only 1 more card I'm afraid, but it was from printing to colouring to building the card......not a pre-prepared image so that took some time!

This super cute image is one I have used before from Pixie Dust Studios, available here. I have coloured him in with Promarkers (Holly, Pine, Forest Green, Yellow, Primrose, Gold, True Blue, China Blue, Blue Pearl, Black, Cool Grey 5,4), cut him out by cutting round the largest die from Nesties Labels 12 and mounting onto various coloured pieces of card from my scrap box, finishing with some random green ribbon! The circle is also coloured with a Promarker (Pumpkin).
I am entering this card into the following challenges......
Pixie Dust - Let's Play
Passion For Promarkers - Prehistoric
Sketch Saturday - Week 153 sketch

Thanks for looking and hope you like it! :)

New Home!

Afternoon all!
Well I'm still in shock from winning at Less Is More I think! But I have the day to myself and I am having a craft day! Before I have to work at 5.30pm that is. This week off has gone so fast!
Anyway, I was rooting through my My Craft Studio cd's last night as it's been a while since I've used anything off them and I came across this delightful image!

So I decided it would make a lovely 'New Home' card. Which I may just send to myself as I have just signed for another year in my lovely house, after some doubt whether I would be able to after Keiran's Dad and I split up. I am now a VERY happy bunny! :-D
The image was off MCS Countryside Garden cd, and I just added text, and altered the colours to match. Once printed, I trimmed the corners with my new inverted punch, layered it onto blue card, and then my DL card blank. Nice and simple! I am of course entering this into the LIM Lucky dip - Thank your/Congrats challenge.

Ok time for lunch then more cardmaking..... :D
