A bit of the Wetlands

Morning all!
It's time for our new challenge at CAS - Colours and Sketches and this week it's a colour challenge.

My friend asked me to make a birthday card for her husband, but she had absolutely no theme for me to work with so I had complete free reign! So I borrowed the gorgeous stamp set Wetlands from Jen and here is what I made...

I have always admired the way this stamp has been used so I don't really know why I haven't bought it! I thoroughly enjoyed making this card!

I sponged Marina Mist for the water and Pear Pizzazz for the grass. The birds and grass were stamped using Chocolate Chip, then I sponged the goose with a little more Chocolate Chip.

Happy Birthday to us!

Hey everyone!
Well today I am wishing my newest downline, Adrienne a very happy birthday! It's easy to remember as it's my birthday too! Not only do we share the same day, but we were also born the same year! Big one next year eh Adrienne? ;)

Anyway, in our honour, I have made a birthday card....

I have used the new Petite Petals stamps and matching punch bundle, the Flower Shop stamps and matching Pansy Punch bundle and a sentiment from Express Yourself hostess stamp set.

Real Red ink, Real Red Taffeta Ribbon and a gem make this card simple and elegant.
I'm entering it into the challenge at Fusion this week...

A Happy Valentine!

Hellloooo!
How are you?

I had quite a productive evening yesterday, making some commissions, and a card to show you today. The commissions will be revealed at some point next week.

Here is today's card...

This card has gone quite out of my comfort zone...Designer Series Paper & coloured card blank...not something I use a lot of, but I think I like it!

The DSP is the lovely Fresh Prints and I die cut the strip in the middle and added a die cut heart from another design, all mounted on a strip of Pool Party cardstock. I added a Candy Dot and a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Sentiments.

I am entering my card into a couple of challenges...

I had a fantastic workout yesterday...I needed a shake up at the gym so I booked in with one of the instructors and boy do I know it! I may never walk normally again! On the upside, I don't need to run any more...just cycle lol!

You have a fabby day and I'll see you tomorrow!

A little gift

Good morning!
I didn't get any crafting done this weekend due to the fact that I was working and just generally didn't feel like doing much! So today I'm going to show you a gift I made for my friend for her birthday back in December.

This lovely little package has three sparkly nail varnishes in it and the little one has a pretty silver necklace in. You can find a tutorial for the smaller box here on my video tutorial page.

I don't have measurements for the nail varnish package I'm afraid as I made it so long ago, but you might find them on Paula's blog as the idea came from a lovely gift she gave me at convention last year.

You could use any DSP for this project to make it perfect for any occasion. The acetate is part of this lovely paper stack...
It's called Quatrefancy and you can buy it direct from my online store by clicking on the picture.

Thanks for coming to say hi today...hopefully I will get chance to craft tonight so I have something new to show you tomorrow!

Wedding invitation design

Good morning!
I am posting this very quickly, again before work!
As you may remember, I was designing wedding invitations, which obviously I can't show you yet, but I can show you one of the designs she didn't choose...

I used the very elegant Mr & Mrs stamp set which I stamped in Silver Encore then embossed in Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder.

I also White embossed a Flowering Flourish onto the front before adding my embossed panel.

These are very elegant and could be made in many different colours to match the wedding colours.

I'm sure I will be back soon with the actual design...when I know they have been sent out!

I'm off now so have a fab, fun crafty/family Sunday!

Gorgeous rainbow wings

Good morning!
This is a very quick post before I go to work.

It's Saturday which means there's a new challenge over at Less Is More, and it's their 3rd birthday! And Mandi is back as a guest designer! How lovely to see her work again and HAPPY BIRTHDAY Less Is More!

This week they have gone with a rainbow theme. As soon as I saw this challenge I knew exactly what to do!

I used Gorgeous Grunge, lots of different colours and the Beautiful Wings Embosslits folder. The butterflies were die cut from card I stamped with Gorgeous Grunge to give the a blotchy look.

My idea with this card was to make the butterflies look like they had lifted off the ink spots on the card...almost like they were flying away with stolen colour!

The colours I used are Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Tangerine Tango, Old Olive and Elegant Eggplant.

I am also entering this into the challenge at Stampin' Celebration and this photo inspiration...

Right, must dash! See you later!

A card for my Nephew!

Good morning!
It's time for a new sketch at Sketch Saturday!

As it's my nephew's birthday on Tuesday I decided to use the sketch to make his card.

I have used this lovely image from Lili of The Valley and I water coloured it with Stampin' Up! ink and an Aqua Painter.

The papers are also from Stampin' Up! and I finished with a '5' (though it was a 4 at first....how could I forget how old he is??!)

I hope you like the sketch and I can't wait to see what you create using it!
